Best strategy for optimizing Facebook annotations in Bing & Yahoo
-
My website has a page on Facebook with around 32K connections, these are not showing up in Bing's serp annotations because Bing is not associating my page with the website. Unsure why because I have closed loop links and used their Page Like Box to generate those 32K connections. I have Facebook insights and Bing webmaster tools authorized for the domain
Does anyone know how I can ensure Bing makes that connection?
If that's not possible, would it be more advantageous to drive likes to my sitewide domain or specific pages?
My testing on Bing suggests the domain level like is most likely to trigger annotations, even for deeper pages with no specific likes.

I've been testing a few solutions, but nothing has changed yet. It may be an issue of Bing's index and timing still, so I'll wait a few more days before trying something new.
- My facebook page id was correct in the open graph meta tags, however the URL linter said it was displaying twice.
- On another website I own, Bing properly attributes my fan page, without any open graph mention of the page id. Assuming it just follows the links that reciprocate.
- So, I've dropped the page id from my problem site to see if bing can make the connection on her own.

How can I change the Facebook Page shown in the SERP
Hi everyone, got a quick question in regard to our Facebook page and its appearance on the Google SERP. We have individual Facebook pages for every country and language. Unfornately the UK site is ranking in the German SERP rather then our Germany Facebook Site. The UK site is way older and has much more likes which most likely explains why this page is (still) outranking our, fairly new site (couple of months). Is there a way, to push my German Facebook Site in front of the UK Site in Germany? Any advice or tipp is much appreciated. Thanks

Facebook Graph Search
Hi All. Just wondering what your experience is with using Facebook graph search? I have a site that ranks highly for a good number of keywords on google, yahoo etc, but when you use the facebook graph search, it either doesnt show up at all or is buried away in page 5 or something. I'm talking about the 'Web Search' bit where it returns web results rather than searching for pages likes by my friends etc. Any thoughts? Why is my site way behind the competition in Facebook? I'm a white hat kind of girl and can't think what I might have done to offend! Have you come across any good resources advising how to optimise for facebook graph search for web? Thanks Jo

Facebook Likes not counted
So many of my clients are (very) small businesses and have added a like button to their website home pages that actually has the person liking their Facebook page rather than the website. Without debating the pros and cons of this approach, it would seem that Facebook has changed it so that if someone clicks a like button that is for a page they have not actually visited the like does not show up in the like count for that page? Is that correct?

Does promoting a new page on twitter/facebook help it get indexed faster?
I know this probably won't matter much to people who get crawled on a regular basis, but for those of us who don't, does promoting a new page on social media help it get indexed faster with google? My site rarely gets crawled, but I've recently been adding new content. When I add new content I started to promote it on facebook/twitter and I do get minimal traffic from it. I noticed that a couple of the pages seem to be indexing quicker than pages normally do for me, although I'm not sure if it's because I recently migrated to WP or what..? I know T/FB are no follow sites, but is there a chance that promoting a page may contribute to the pages getting indexed? Thanks for any insight you can shed on the matter. It's more for curiosities sake than anything else. Pete S.

Facebook Like on URLs
I have a doubt regarding the facebook LIKES for URLs Case 1: By using a Facebook Like Button (for URL) on my page(s). Here people are coming to my page and giving like directly on my page. Case 2: Here i'm not using any Facebook Like plugins on page, But my page got shared on facebook pages and profiles. And people are giving likes on facebook.com for my shared links. Is this two count as different methods? Explain me please.

How do website owners gain from facebook scams like this?
I've noticed two things that are going wild on Facebook this week: http://timhortonsgiveaway.me/ and http://promoforipads.net/ In the first scenario, you supposedly just click share and they'll send you a $25 Tim Horton's gift card. (For those who don't know Tim's it is a very popular coffee shop in Canada). There's no way this is happening...they claim to have something like 5000 cards to give away. In the second one they're apparently giving away 1000 ipods. Yeah...OK. So, they're obviously scams that are just trying to get a few zillion facebook shares. But why?
