Verifying Google My Business After An Address Change
-
Hello,
We are trying to verify our Google My Business listing, however, the current unverified listing is using an old address we no longer have access to.The only option for verification is through the mail.
We tried requesting an edit but it didn’t go through.
Would the best option be to create a new one and try to have the old (unverified) listing removed?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Best, -
You can often request a code via the post, we often have used this to verify our Google My Business account. We done this for our garden room company in Bath.

Hi @ben-r ,
In my opinion I think that it would be better if you have access to the old adress or try to contact with the Google My Business support center using the contact form.
I would not try to create a new GMB page if the old one it's still active.
Best,
-
Dear Ben,
In my experience, it is better to tell the Google team about removing an old address and remove it as soon as possible.
Secondly, I have also worked in places where postcards don't arrive on time, or just don't arrive. If you feel that it is true for you, schedule a video call with a Google team member. It is not necessary to wait for your postcard for 14 days, the Google representative has told me so.
I hope it helps.

Unsolved Has anyone noticed the Google quote request response rate never changes?
We respond to almost 100% of our quote requests, yet every quote email that comes in from Google shows a 27% response rate and it never changes. Has anyone else seen this or have any insight into it?

Seasonal Setting Options for Google My Business
Hi there, Not sure if anyone will have any insight but I have a seasonal business that I am closed for from September to March. I don't want to mark my business as "permanently closed" through Google My Business as I don't want my customers to think I've gone out of business. I've seen a few times through forums that you can change your business to temporarily closed, but I can't find the specifics on how to do this. Any insight, suggestion or resources would be great! Thanks!

What is the best address format to display for a buissness for SEO?
There is a new location opening soon and would like to set up local pages for it. What is the best/most SEO friendly way to write out the physical address? I looked on USPS and they show: 7227 W GRAND PKWY S

RICHMOND TX 77407 But local businesses seem to have the West and South written out: 7301 West Grand Parkway SouthRichmond, TX 77407Is there a best practice for this, or does it not make much of a difference as long as the website/local listings all match exactly? Not sure about writing out "West" or using "S." for the cardinal direction.0 -
Google Maps redirect notice on track-able URL's (how do I track maps visits in analytics?)
We've been using trackable URL's to track Google My Business visits in analytics for years.

Example: ?utm_source=GoogleLocal&utm_medium=example&utm_campaign=example In the past month I've noticed Google showing a redirect notice on any listing with a trackable URL. It happened for a day or so a few weeks ago - and then it's been a more permanent situation since this past week. Redirect Notice
The previous page is sending you to: www.example.com
If you do not want to visit that page, you can return to the previous page. I'm fine with removing the trackable URL's - however - I'm not sure how to track maps visits via analytics without using them. I can't find any updated information on options. The last post on moz was in 2011 (http://moz.com/blog/tracking-traffic-from-google-places-in-google-analytics). The alternate tactics in that post no longer work. So my question is:
- How do I track Google Maps (My Business) visits through analytics without using tracking URLs?1 -
