SERP Cannibalization Issue
-
Hi Moz Community,
Glad to be here with you. I need some help from you guys.
I have a new client website: [https://deluxemassage.co.uk/](link url)
My client runs this type of business offering professional therapeutic health services. It offers massage services on demand ("mobile", therapists visiting clients at home). The client has his business registered, and the therapists listed on the website are carefully vetted, all having training in different types of massage.
The client's problem is that until 2 months ago the site was in position 3-4 in Google (somewhat stable) with the main page for the keyword "mobile massage London". Recently I noticed that another page on the site that lists all therapists - i.e. this page [https://deluxemassage.co.uk/therapists/](link url)- is on the first page of Google for the above keyword, although both the title tag, meta description and the page on the site do not target the above keyword.
I notice that both pages have serious fluctuations in the SERP for the mentioned keyword, sometimes appearing both in the results.
The Home page is marked as rel=canonicalOf course the position in SERP fluctuates from 8, 11, 12, 7.
What should I do to solve this problem?
Any thoughts here would be appreciated.
Thanks

Good afternoon, you need to do a relink. From the blog to the page you need. Make an anchor list with queries that blur relevance. This will give the keyword boost on the page. Google will understand which page to show for this query.

Google SERPs showing blog comments in Answer Box?
I was recently researching Schema markup for local businesses and I was presented with an Answer Box that used blog comments as answers (at least I feel that's what they were attempting to show). Strange Google SERP Layout: Anyone?
I haven't been able to repeat this, but I just saw a strange Google SERP layout. The screenshot is attached below. Has anyone else seen something like this? I kind of rubbed my eyes and wondered 'if it was kicking in'. ca2JqaP

I can't understand why I am not rank one on SERPS
Hi Guys, I really cannot understand why I am no longer rank 1 on SERPs? My link data shows great weight in comparison to competitors, my on page SEO is good, nice and diverse on the alt text. I know there are a lot of factors that effect SERPs but I believe I have done well but am still not ranking? Have I missed something?

Bing Vs Google SERP
I realize the major search engines use different criteria but I don't see how - for the same home page keyword - my site could rank #3 on page 1 for a Bing search and be off the charts (Page 15+)? on Google. Has Google gone so far off the charts with their new Penguins and Pandas so as to be in a different universe? Seems Google is now extremely over-weighting big sites like Wikipedia, WebMD, eHow, etc. and in doing so vastly reducing the diversity of results shown. I am commonly seeing different pages of the same website appear multiple times in the first 2-3 pages of Google results. What's the point?

Google automatically adding company name to serp titles
Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I was surprised to see that Google had algorithmically modified my page titles in the search results by adding the company name to the end of the (short) title. <title>About Us</title> became About Us - Company Name Interestingly, this wasn't consistent - sometimes it was "company name Limited" and sometimes just "company name. Anyone else notice this or is this a recent change?

Search history Effects on SERPS
With search engines using adaptive search in their algo, what's the best way to reset? Currently I go to my browser which primarily is Safari second Firefox third Chrome, I empty the cache, clear history and remove all cookies and data. I also disable customerzation based on search history. Is this the best way of starting from scratch so my search results won't incorporate adaptive search tech? I also make sure I'm not signed into my gmail account since that can impact SERPS as well. What else should I be doing to make sure my search is not customized?

Why some results in SERP have a www. and some don't
Hello all, If this is posted twice, I didn't mean for it to be - but it looks like last time I tried to post this question it didn't post. This is my question: How come some results on Google's SERP page are shown with a "www" and some are not? Does this effect SEO at all? I am including a screen shot so you can see what I mean. The Geary Interactive result has a "www" in front of while ingenexdigital doesn't. R6GLL.png

Local events in SERP
Hi all, I just noticed some extra links in the SERP where a webpage was showing events in the city. Does anyone know how these events can be indexed and placed by google in teh SERP? I have attached a screenshot, the underlying pages don't seem to be that special. I was wondering if there are special guidelines when optimising for events. It seems that Google will only show upcoming events for the next few days... Any help is greatly appriciated! Cheers!
