Backlinking Strategy
-
I am particularly new to the field of SEO and Backlinking and I have recently started my own blog feel free to have a look (https://thehorseradar.com/).
What I wanted to find out is how can I achieve a DA of at least 30.
What should be my link-building strategy? & what steps should I take first?
With an abundance of overwhelming info available online I have gotten really confused about what would work and what would not.
If someone would lay out the steps needed to be taken, I would be extremely grateful!
Thank You

I’m a bit confused about link building strategies and implementation of high DA links and why it’s best to get links from well established websites yet I see competition profiles full of what looks to be spammy links, paid blog list etc, am I right in thinking it’s best to have more dofollow than no follow and what’s the significance of the ratio of number of referring domains to number of backlinks why do only some show up on different tools used?
The website we run is [https://www.linkhairextensions.co.uk/](link url) within the hair & beauty industry. -

@Ranilulu we are a B2B ecommerce company too. I feel we should focus more on technical seo and real content. Something your customers will read over and over again. It takes real experience (technical) and time to write such content however I feel even one quality article like this which truly helps customers in your market will go a long ways in increasing your visibility organically. We do this too. Sam from <a href="https://www.ucanpack.com/">Ucanpack</a>

@Tom-Capper What would be your approach if you have a site on a brand new domain like https://coinlabz.com/ ? I believe we publish good and linkable content, but since the site metrics are low, it will be harder to acquire links naturally.
What would you recommend?

Hey there!
Your backlink strategy can involve a variety of tactics, such as creating high-quality content that other websites will want to link to, reaching out to other website owners and asking for links, or participating in link building campaidgns or exchanges.
It's important to note that not all backlinks are created equal, and having a high number of low-quality links can actually harm your website's SEO. Therefore, it's important to focus on acquiring relevant, high-quality backlinks from reputable websites.
I wouldn't know what your strategy should be as I don't know what your final goals are. Though here you can find some actional steps that are included in almost every link-building strategy:
Creating high-quality content: One of the best ways to acquire backlinks is by creating valuable and informative content that other websites will want to link to. This can include things like in-depth research articles, informative blog posts, infographics, and videos.
Guest blogging: Another way to acquire backlinks is by guest blogging on other websites in your industry. This is a great way to get your content in front of a new audience and to establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry. When you guest blog, you can typically include a link back to your own website in your author bio or in the body of the post.
Broken link building: This strategy involves identifying broken links on other websites in your industry, and then reaching out to the website owner to let them know about the broken link and suggesting a replacement link to one of your own pages.
Direct Outreach: Reach out to website owners, editors, and other relevant contacts, and ask them to link to your content.
One thing to remember is that link-building is not an easy task, it requires time, effort and a well-thought strategy. It's a long-term strategy, and the results may take some time to appear. So don't give up if you don't see immediate results, it's just not how things work in this business.

@haris313 said in Backlinking Strategy:
What should be my link-building strategy?
Link building is the process of acquiring links from other websites to your own website, with the goal of improving your search engine rankings and driving traffic to your site. However, it's important to note that not all links are created equal, and the quality of the links you acquire can have a significant impact on your website's performance.
Using a tool like https://rush-analytics.com/land/backlinks-spam can be helpful for identifying and analyzing links to your website, but it's important to use this tool as part of a comprehensive link-building strategy, rather than relying on it as the sole source of information.
Here are a few strategies you might consider as part of a link-building campaign:
Publish high-quality, informative content that other websites will want to link to.
Reach out to other websites and ask for links, but be sure to provide value in return (such as linking to their content from your own site).
Participate in relevant online communities and forums, and provide valuable insights and resources that others will want to link to.
Use social media to promote your content and encourage others to share your links.
Monitor your backlinks using the tool and actively work to remove any spammy or low-quality links pointing to your website.
It's important to approach link building with a long-term perspective, as it can take time and effort to build a strong, diverse link profile. However, by following best practices and focusing on creating high-quality content and relationships, you can develop a link-building strategy that will help drive traffic and improve your website's search engine performance.

Does anyone can share some backlink strategy for an e-commerce website? We are an e-commerce company with the brand name VANCARO. We just start the link buidling recently.
-
@Tom-Capper
I have read your advice.
I take this opportunity to consult you:
Do you think that sites like reedit, quora or forums like that can send some relevant traffic to blogs in Spanish?
A few months ago I started https://mundocm.net/telefonos-servicio-al-cliente-falabella/ and I'm having a hard time finding relevant sites to ask for a link.
Sometimes, what is more difficult is to find relevant sites from the country where the blog's theme is aimed.
If you have any suggestions, it would be appreciated. -
It's certainly possible to attain a DA 30. My recommendation is find similar sites in your niche that have at/around DA 30 and dig into their backlink profile, see how many backlinks and what number DA's associated. After you've done your research, come up with a strategy similar to that. It's the exact method I'm using for a domain like: [https://ruffrug.com](link url)

@irau creating longer form articles with illustrations or graphics is a really good suggestion. Thank you so much for it. I'll have to manage it by myself one way or the other until I build a good reliable team of my own.
-
@Tom-Capper Thank you so much for your time. I'll start working on some good shareable resources right away!!
-
@haris313 Certain backlinks can shoot your DA right up to 45, which a solid score, but doesn't guarantee valuable traffic by any means.
I recommend creating longer form articles with illustrations or graphics to make reading them more dynamic.
This can be very time consuming for just one person, so it helps to have another team member assisting with developing topics, proof reading and helping with graphics.

In some ways, aiming for a specific DA is probably not the right approach. DA is a useful metrc for predicting how well a site might rank against another, all things being equal, but there's a lot of nuance to what might help you succeed for a given query.
That said, for newer sites, some links are certainly helpful. There's no one way to go about it.
I'd suggest for a new blog, start by producing some resources you feel others might find useful, entertaining, or otherwise remarkable. Then, find ways to get these in front of people who might consider linking to you from their own sites - perhaps share the resources with your social media followers, email journalists from relevant publications, or engage with platforms like Reddit or forums.

Understanding Redirects and Canonical Tags in SEO: A Complex Case
Hi everyone, nothing serious here, i'm just playing around doing my experiments 🙂
Technical SEO | | chueneke
but if any1 of you guys understand this chaos and what was the issue here, i'd appreciate if you try to explain it to me. I had a page "Linkaufbau" on my website at https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau. My .htaccess file contains only basic SEO stuff: # removed ".html" using htaccess RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^GET\ (.*)\.html\ HTTP RewriteRule (.*)\.html$ $1 [R=301,L] # internally added .html if necessary RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.html -f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/$ RewriteRule (.*) $1\.html [L] # removed "index" from directory index pages RewriteRule (.*)/index$ $1/ [R=301,L] # removed trailing "/" if not a directory RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /$ RewriteRule (.*)/ $1 [R=301,L] # Here’s the first redirect: RedirectPermanent /index / My first three questions: Why do I need this rule? Why must this rule be at the top? Why isn't this handled by mod_rewrite? Now to the interesting part: I moved the Linkaufbau page to the SEO folder: https://chriseo.de/seo/linkaufbau and set up the redirect accordingly: RedirectPermanent /linkaufbau /seo/linkaufbau.html I deleted the old /linkaufbau page. I requested indexing for /seo/linkaufbau in the Google Search Console. Once the page was indexed, I set a canonical to the old URL: <link rel="canonical" href="https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau"> Then I resubmitted the sitemap and requested indexing for /seo/linkaufbau again, even though it was already indexed. Due to the canonical tag, the page quickly disappeared. I then requested indexing for /linkaufbau and /linkaufbau.html in GSC (the old, deleted page). After two days, both URLs were back in the serps:: https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau.html this is the new page /seo/linkaufbau
b14ee095-5c03-40d5-b7fc-57d47cf66e3b-grafik.png This is the old page /linkaufbau
242d5bfd-af7c-4bed-9887-c12a29837d77-grafik.png Both URLs are now in the search results and all rankings are significantly better than before for keywords like: organic linkbuilding linkaufbau kosten linkaufbau service natürlicher linkaufbau hochwertiger linkaufbau organische backlinks linkaufbau strategie linkaufbau agentur Interestingly, both URLs (with and without .html) redirect to the new URL https://chriseo.de/seo/linkaufbau, which in turn has a canonical pointing to https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau (without .html). In the SERPs, when https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau is shown, my new, updated snippet is displayed. When /linkaufbau.html is shown, it displays the old, deleted page that had already disappeared from the index. I have now removed the canonical tag. I don't fully understand the process of what happened and why. If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful. Best regards,

Is it worth buying an entry on Wikipedia-type sites?
Recently I've come across a few websites offering (for a fee) to research, write and publish an entry on the likes of Wikipedia, Citizendium or Wikitia - I thought this might be helpful when it comes to marketing and link building for a brand or individual. Purchasing guest blog posts is a standard way to obtain a high domain authority in-context backlink, but I wondered if purchasing an entry on one of these human edited encyclopedias would be as effective, better or not worth the money? It costs quite a bit more than guest posting and blog outreach, but on the other hand they are authoritative websites that also include backlinks. Any thoughts would be most welcome.

Can Foreign Language Backlinks Be Valuable?
I've done a lot of searching on this subject, but I keep seeing conflicting answers. Are backlinks from foreign language websites valuable? For example, a travel website in English picks up a couple backlinks in Indonesian language (and other languages) from foreign sites that have a DA of 60-70 or higher. The topic is partially related, but the language is totally different. Would those links still be valuable for the English website's DA? Has this ever been answered conclusively? Thanks

Website has a barrage of comment backlinks from 2011
When Google rolled out Panda and Penguin, I assume these links have been discounted and any site punishment has already happened. The website is performing well, however, just recently these comment backlinks have started popping up again as "new" backlinks on Ahrefs. Being "newly-found", will this have a negative impact on the website? Should we be worried about these and start disavowing or is it OK to ignore them? Thanks.

SEO companies, Backlinks and Trade Secrets
I have spent so much time investigating what it takes to move my domain up the ladder. I have so far determined good quality optimized website and I am almost done with that. MOZ Rules! If I look at Open Site Explorer at my competitors it gives me some of their backlinks... Some people say backlinks are not as important anymore. But If I am in a Vacation Rental business and I can get other websites/blogs with high PA to post some good content that I write to link back to my website this should raise my SEO? Correct. I am fortunate that online media assets always seem to have articles such as "The best destinations this Fall", "Getting away for a long weekend", etc...... In the past I have been contacted by writers/bloggers that wanted to trade free stays at my homes for an article.... back then I had no idea what a PA was, but now I can at least point MOZ at their website to see if it is worth it. I was also thinking about hiring somebody to do this.....My question is two part... Am I on the right track about building good quality backlinks from high PA with truly good content. I have been writing articles now for 30 days along with this other stuff and have probably 10 unique pieces plus another 20 in our recent blog... When SEO companies call me weekly they all say "we can get you to the top 3 placements in 60 days or other say 3 to 5 months or others say 6 to 7 months." Being a business person I ask, "How do you do it? and what tools do you use?" I never get a straight answer, because they say it is trade secrets..... or they say they use internal tools.... This kills me! I do not want to do this myself, be an SEO company I just want to know the process a vendor will use to raise my SEO. If they were to say I have contacts at these 5 major websites and I am going to get your content listed on these websites... I would say great. 4 years ago I paid a company monthly for a year who moved my domain name from 70 to 35 but that happened in the first 3 months and then nothing. And he would never tell me what they were doing... plus now I realize my site optimization was crap. Out of 10 keyword phrases, the highest I got right now is 32 and a new guy on the block is less than 10 and has less content and backlinks... I wonder once my site optimization is done will that really really help me. Is it too much for a SEO to tell me specifics! I have purchased MOZ, Authority Labs, Buzz Stream, SEO tracker, I am committed to this... I have 15,000 facebook page likes and 80 you tube videos, pinterest and twitter too... M

Backlinks From Press Releases - Should I Disavow Them?
About 2 months ago, I published a press release through PRWEB with a link back to my website of course. Now it must have been one of those morning where the coffee wasn't strong enough as my website already has a Penguin penalty I'm trying to get lifted. The intent wasn't to spam the web but rather to gain some traction in the business hosting world. Like I've said, the coffee must've been too weak that morning as it didn't even cross my mind to see if I could "nofollow" the links in the press release. I just hit the submit button... As I'm in the process of submitting a disavow links request to Google, I'm wondering if I should include the URLs to copies of those press releases? I mean, there's no way I can find all those links as it was submitted not long ago. Google and link tools will keep discovering other copies of the PR for months to come probably.
