      Hi, I run a tree surgery business - woodfeldertreecare.co.uk

We're based in Manchester, UK. A few days ago I was called by Premium Domain Names who convinced me that buying treesurgeonsmanchester.com and treesurgerymanchester.com and redirecting them to our main site would be amazing for organic traffic.

My designer and an SEO friend both reckon this was a waste of money and reckon I've been scammed.

      Any thoughts? Please help.

          Hello,

It's not uncommon for businesses to consider buying premium domain names to potentially boost organic traffic. However, the efficacy of this strategy depends on various factors, and it's crucial to evaluate the potential benefits before making such purchases.

In your case, acquiring domains like treesurgeonsmanchester.com and treesurgerymanchester.com could potentially help capture search traffic specifically looking for tree surgery services in Manchester. However, there are important considerations:

          SEO Impact:

While having keyword-rich domains can be beneficial for SEO, it's not a guarantee for improved rankings. Google's algorithms are sophisticated and prioritize content quality and relevance over domain names.
          Duplicate Content:

Redirecting these domains to your main site might lead to duplicate content issues if the content is identical. Search engines may penalize websites for duplicate content, affecting your overall SEO.
          Relevance:

Ensure that the redirected domains are relevant to your business and not misleading. Users should find the content they expect when clicking on the domain.
          Scam Alerts:

Be cautious about unsolicited calls or offers, especially if they pressure you into making quick decisions. Scammers often use high-pressure tactics. Verify the legitimacy of the service provider and the value they bring to your business.
          Consult with SEO Experts:

If your SEO friend is skeptical, it's worth seeking additional opinions from reputable SEO experts. They can provide insights into the potential impact on your website's performance and whether the investment aligns with your business goals.
          Cost-Benefit Analysis:

Evaluate the cost of purchasing and maintaining these domains against the potential benefits in terms of increased organic traffic and business visibility.
In conclusion, while premium domains can have their merits, it's essential to approach such decisions cautiously. Verify the legitimacy of the service you've engaged with, assess the potential SEO impact, and consider consulting with SEO professionals for a comprehensive analysis. Additionally, if you feel you've been scammed, it's advisable to report the incident and take appropriate action to protect your business interests.

Hello @LeoTrees, I am also thinking to buy an expired domain for my current new website Web Care Point. I want to buy a high DR domain and make a redirection to Web Care Point. Will it be good for my website?

Can someone explain how to improve DA?
I am also doing off-page but DA is 5 since last 2 months?
I want to know DA depends on which factors. Should I improve my content or start doing off-page aggressively? Sindh Police Jobs

Who is correct - please help!

seo tactics noindex google search seo rankings

I have a website with a lot of product pages - often thousands of pages. As each of these pages is for a specific lease car they are often only fractionally different from other pages. The urls are too long, the H1 is often too long and the Title is often too long for "SEO best practice". And they do create duplication issues according to MOZ. Some people tell me to change them to noindex/nofollow whilst others tell me to leave them as they are as best not to hide from google crawler. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks for listening.

Should I switch back to my old domain?

domain analysis domain authority domain migration domain

I'm looking for some advice on switching domains for my survey/giveaway website.
I purchased a website that gets around 1,500 in traffic and makes a few hundred in Adsense. The previous owner had rebranded the site and changed the domain which ended up hurting his SEO and traffic. Before that it was getting 10,000 in traffic on the old domain.
It's been a few years since the rebrand but the original domain still holds a lot of authority and got way more traffic. Should I consider switching the website back to the original domain to try to improve rankings again or should I just focus on the new domain?
The website now is snipon.com and the previous domain name was surveyh.com
I'm wondering if switching back to the original domain will still be beneficial or if it will just mess up what's happening now on the rebranded site.

To hyphenate or not to hyphenate?

seo tactics seo expert content optimization

Quick question: does Google differentiate between terms that correctly include a hyphen (such as "royalty-free") and those that are incorrect ("royalty free")? I ask because the correct term "royalty-free"(with a hyphen) receives far less monthly traffic for the same term without the hyphen (according to Moz): Term | Estimated traffic
                "royalty free music" | 11.5-30.3K
"royalty-free music" | 501-850 If Moz views the terms separately then I'd guess that Google does too, in which case the best thing to do for SEO (and increased site traffic) would be to wrongly use "royalty free" without the hyphen. Is that correct?

Is domain forwarding the same as a 301 redirect?

                domain 301 redirect

Hi, I have an older domain with some SEO auth for varying pages and a newer domain that is for the brand. Right now there are some 301s for about 13 pages and we are currently moving servers. I was wondering if domain forwarding is the same as writing 301 redirects for each page or is it something different (302)?

URL structure for same product in multiple categories?

url inspection breadcrumbs technical seo seo tactics

Hello everyone ! I am building an ecom store using wordpress. I have assigned multiple categories to the same product. What should be the URL structure when users are navigating with different product categories? Categories Assigned: tshirt, blue, striped
Product Name: blue-striped-tshirt Option 01: Matching site navigation breadcrumb to product url URL - ecomstore.com/tshirt/blue-striped-tshirt
                Breadcrumb - home/tshirt/blue-striped-tshirt URL - ecomstore.com/blue/blue-striped-tshirt (canonical to 1 product page)
                Breadcrumb - home/color/blue/blue-striped-tshirt URL - ecomstore.com/striped/blue-striped-tshirt (canonical to 1 product page)
Breadcrumb - home/type/striped/blue-striped-tshirt Option 02: Same product urls and different breadcrumbs based on user site navigation URL - ecomstore.com/tshirt/blue-striped-tshirt
                Breadcrumb - home/tshirt/blue-striped-tshirt URL - ecomstore.com/tshirt/blue-striped-tshirt (url same as 1 product page)
                Breadcrumb - home/color/blue/blue-striped-tshirt URL - ecomstore.com/tshirt/blue-striped-tshirt (url same as 1 product page)
Breadcrumb - home/type/striped/blue-striped-tshirt I have decided to got with Option 01 so that the product in each category can be ranked according to each category keyword. Which option is the best according to your experience or is there any other best practice?

Should I split long form content?

                seo tactics content development optimization

I have quite a long content on my site. By length I mean around 8000-9000 words. I optimized it to cover almost all searches related to a topic. But this length makes me uneasy for some reason. I do not think that users will find what they are looking for in such a long content. However, I don't want to neglect the SEO aspect of the content. I can talk about something like this without sharing the keywords completely: Title + for girls Title + for boys Title + for kids Title + for girlfriend Title + for boyfriend Title + for students As I said, in the current situation, these are all sub-headings (H2) of 8000-9000-word content. When I make a separate content for each of them, I can bring them all closer to 1500-2000 words. However, I am undecided whether this is the right step in terms of SEO and content optimization. What are your views?

How to Incorporate Awkward Keyword Phrases

                seo tactics keywords

Certain keywords are good choices for my website (high CTR, low difficulty, high volume), but they would be very awkward to use in my website content. For example, "therapist near me" is a popular search term, but it would be very strange for me to use those words in that order in my content (I am a therapist). Any thoughts about this are welcome.
