Unsolved Broken external links
-
Hi,
Does Moz report on broken links to external sites? I've only seen the crawl return broken links relating to internal links.
Any info much appreciated.
Thanks, Mary

While Moz specializes in on-page SEO and link analysis, for identifying broken links pointing to external sites, consider dedicated tools or services designed for this purpose for reading test.

Moz’s Site Crawl feature typically focuses on internal links and issues within your own domain rather than checking for broken links on external sites1. If you’re specifically looking to identify broken links pointing to external sites like https://smilevegasdental.com/ , you might want to consider using other tools or services that are designed for this purpose.
Tools like “Broken Link Check” or “Online Broken Link Checker” allow you to input a URL, and they will scan the webpage for broken links, including external ones1.

Moz concentrates on offering insights into on-page SEO and link analysis for a website Beast Hunger visibility in search engines. However, if your goal is to identify broken links pointing to external sites, consider using specialized tools or services designed for this purpose

You can fine Broken Link of any High DA site from Ahrefs Broken links tab for free

Hi Mary,
Just to clarify, this answer is based on the premise that you want to find hyperlinks on your site that lead to a different domain, but are broken?
For example, yoursite.com/page has a hyperlink to othersite.com/page-2 but that othersite.com/page-2 URL returns a 404 status code.
Without a doubt the best tool to use here would be Screaming Frog. The tool is free to use to crawl up to 500 URLs. Otherwise it's £149 (from memory) for a year's licence.
It might seem daunting to use but it is relatively straight forward. They have great documentation on how to find broken links on your website, and their support team is excellent.
I'm not affiliated with Screaming Frog in anyway btw
If you need any further assistance feel free to chuck your website in here, or DM me (I think you can do that here). I can compile a list of broken external URLs for you if you like.
Cheers,
Stefan -
Moz, a leading company in the field of search engine optimization (SEO) and digital marketing, has not conveyed any plans to close or halt its operations on a distinct website such as the uk49s Teatime Results Menu. However, it's crucial to recognize that business circumstances and strategies can change, and the information I have may not capture the most recent updates.

@rj_dale Moz primarily focuses on providing insights into on-page SEO, link analysis, and other aspects related to a website's visibility and performance in search engines. Moz's Site Crawl feature typically focuses on internal links and issues within your own domain rather than checking for broken links on external sites.
If you're specifically looking to identify broken links pointing to external sites, you might want to consider using other tools or services that are designed for this purpose. Here are a few alternatives:
Online Broken Link Checkers:
Tools like "Broken Link Check" or "Online Broken Link Checker" allow you to input a URL, and they will scan the webpage for broken links, including external ones.
Google Search Console:Google Search Console can provide information about external links leading to your site. However, it won't directly report on broken links on external sites.
Browser Extensions:Some browser extensions, like Check My Links for Google Chrome, can help you quickly identify broken links on a webpage, including external ones.
Third-Party Link Checking Tools:Tools like Screaming Frog SEO Spider or Ahrefs can be configured to check for broken external links on your website.

Solved Moz Link Explorer slow to find external links
I have a site with 48 linking domains and 200 total links showing in Google Search Console. These are legit and good quality links. Since creating a campaign 2 months ago, Moz link explorer for the same site only shows me 2 linking domains and 3 total links. I realise Moz cannot crawl with the same speed and depth as Google but this is poor performance for a premium product and doesn't remotely reflect the link profile of the domain. Is there a way to submit a sitemap or list of links to Moz for the purpose of crawling and adding to Link Explorer?

Unsolved Can you explain the importance of backlinks in SEO, and how does Moz's link analysis tools help in understanding and improving a website's backlink profile?
Absolutely! Backlinks play a crucial role in SEO as they are like 'votes of confidence' from other websites. They indicate to search engines that your content is valuable and trustworthy. Moz's link analysis tools, such as 'Link Explorer,' provide insights into a website's backlink profile. This includes information about the number of backlinks, referring domains, spam score, and anchor text distribution.

Best practices for retiring 100s of blog posts?
Hi. I wanted to get best practices for retiring an enterprise blog with hundreds of old posts with subject matter that won't be repurposed. What would be the best course of action to retire and maintain the value of any SEO authority from those old blog pages? Is it enough to move those old posts into an archive subdirectory and Google would deprioritize those posts over time? Or would a mass redirect of old blog posts to the new blog's home page be allowed (even though the old blog post content isn't being specifically replaced)? Or would Google basically say that if there aren't 1:1 replacement URLs, that would be seen as soft-404s and treated like a 404?

Should I keep my existing site or start new?
I have a website with less than 3K visits a year. Only customers with an Account with me who have login credentials can see my product pricing and make a purchase onsite; therefore, indexing/page ranking is not a concern for me. My agency suggests that my product catalog be corrected to a parent/child relationship. Currently, each product variation has its own SKU and PDP. As a result, product findability: Site Search, Categorization, and Facets are a mess. Is there any way I can keep my current URL (branding purposes)? I thought we could delete all pages (PLPs & PDPs) and create all new and enforce 301 redirects. Thoughts?

404s on subfolder - how to redirect?
Hi all,
Technical SEO | | MFSMarketing
we have a lot of 404s to subfolders. Eg
www.website.com/blog-post-title/imagename/
www.website.com/blog-post-title/author/ We don't have these subfolders or blog posts anymore.
How do i redirect them? These links (404s) don't seem to have any value or backlinks. Thanks,
