How fast can page authority be grown
-
I understand that it is easier to rank for a particular keyword given a higher DA score. How fast can page authority be established and grown for a given keyword if DA is equal to 10/20/30/50?
What are the relative measures that dictate the establishment and growth of this authority? Can it be enumerated to a percentage of domain links? or a percentage of domain links given an assumed C-Block ratio?
For example you have a website with DA of 40, and you want to target a new keyword, the average PA of the top ranked pages is 30, the average domain links are 1,000, and the average number of linking domains is 250 - if you aim to build 1,000 links per month from 500 linking domains, how fast can you approximate the establishment of page authority for the keyword?

Hey again NickEubanks,
1. checking up on my stats again for my site. its age is 59 days old and has not been registered before.
2. crawl stats are high of 137, average of 61, low of 10. That includes every data point since it is so young(less than 90 days old).
3. seomoz campaign says that I have 78 pages crawled though i dont think all of them should get indexed as pages seemed to get indexed within minutes usually. 59 are indexed. 57 were indexed today and I wrote a post as well as made a new navigation page to keep organized and then it went to 59 within minutes. I don't think tag pages with a single post get indexed or something since some tags do seem to get indexed and also have multiple posts.
4. total links: 1628 from 538 domains. Domain homepage PA of 40 with a DA of 33. Dmozrank 5.3.
my page for the keyword i plan to rank first for is PA 38, 67 links from 14 domains.
The site ranking in first position is much younger (2 year old site) than the other 6 beating me as I am in position 8.
these 6 have 5 with between 60 to 80 DA and one of the worse ranking site on the serps with a DA 46 though it was beating a DA 62.
Each also ranges from have very little to quite a lot of links.
first i'll share the first position stats as it is related to your main focus. PA 14 DA74, 71 links from 4 domains.
all the other 6 are over 10 years old.
after my site is a 6 year old site which i am now beating.
hope you enjoy this juicy info.
so in about 2 months i got to DA33 to answer your original question. This has been fun.

I'm extremely interested! Not directly through age, but it's in there - IMO it is more so a relative measure of the ability of pages on that domain to rank for a keyword versus a stand alone metric for measuring rankability.
A couple questions if you don't mind sharing:
- Has the domain been previously registered or ever had an indexed URL on it in the past?
- What is your daily crawl rate according to webmaster tools?
- What is you new URL to indexed URL ratio?
- What is your website's SEOmoz measure of p-links and d-links, and how do these stack up to the the averages of the top 10 URL's currently ranked for your primary anchor text keyword phrase?
More data makes for more interesting conversation. Thanks in advance.

You do have a good point, the DA is quite relevant to the results even for pages with a low PA.
Here is some info on the seomoz domain authority http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/domain-authority
to my understanding google values links differently depending on their age to confirm stability and authority.
Are you sure seomoz determines domain authority through age?
edit: with one of my sites after its first crawl after 2 weeks of existing the DA is 13. the next crawl begins on the 11th i could let you know what the results are after that as the metrics are quite slow to catch up (was 15 linking domains after 2 weeks now is well over 700 linking domains after a big link bait at 4 weeks old according to webmaster tools which is also behind)
-
Well, actually DA is very relevant to what I want to achieve - I want the ability to build marginal page authority and still be able to rank well in a relatively short period of time. Based on my research, and I have a lot of it at this point, DA that is comparable to the average DA of the top 1o currently ranked URL's for a particular keyword enables pages with PA of sometimes 1 to rank within the top 10 - which is precisely what I am attempting to gauge.
There is absolutely no way DA can be increased by anywhere close to 50 in less than 6 months. Regardless of where your links are coming from it is made quite clear that this is largely a measure of trust beyond relevancy and must be built over time.
-
You are over complicating a metric which may not even be relevant to what you want to achieve.
DA does not = higher SERPs necessarily.
DA can be increased probably well over 50 within a few weeks if you have the right connections.

Filter Pages
Howdy Moz Forum!! I have a headache of a job over here in the UK and I'd welcome any advice! - It's sunny today, only 1 of 5 days in a year and i'm stuck on this! I have a client that currently has 22,000 pages indexed to Google with almost 4000 showing as duplicate content. The site has a "jobs" and "candidates" list. This can cause all sorts of variations such as job title, language, location etc. The filter pages all seem to be indexed. Plus the static pages are indexed. For example if there were 100 jobs at Moz being advertised, it is displaying the jobs on the following URL structure - /moz
Moz Pro | | Slumberjac
/moz/moz-jobs
/moz/moz-jobs/page/2
/moz/moz-jobs/page/3
/moz/moz-jobs/page/4
/moz/moz-jobs/page/5 ETC ETC Imagine this with some going up to page/250 I have checked GA data and can see that although there are tons of pages indexed this way, non of them past the "/moz/moz-jobs" URL get any sort of organic traffic. So, my first question! - Should I use rel-canonical tags on all the /page/2 & /page/3 etc results and point them all at the /moz/moz-jobs parent page?? The reason for this is these pages have the same title and content and fall very close to "duplicate" content even though it does pull in different jobs... I hope i'm making sense? There is also a lot of pages indexed in a way such as- https://www.examplesite.co.uk/moz-jobs/search/page/9/?candidate_search_type=seo-consulant&candidate_search_language=blank-language These are filter pages... and as far as I'm concerned shouldn't really be indexed? Second question! - Should I "no follow" everything after /page in this instance? To keep things tidy? I don't want all the variations indexed! Any help or general thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks.0 -
F rated page appearing higher than A rated page
Hi, We have a page that we have optimised in the MOZ system and got a grade A for the term "Dental Implants Wolverhampton" The page that has been optimised isn't being indexed in google http://www.perfectdental.eu.com/treatments-implants.php However, this page http://www.perfectdental.eu.com/uk-clinics-dental-team.php Which hasn't been optimised is indexed 11. If i run this page through the MOZ "on-page checker" it receives a quality score of F. Its very confusing, would be great to hear from anyone with any ideas? Thanks

"On-Page Report Card"- why is still showing " F grade" after introducing the keyword in page and title.
Hello, "On-Page Report Card"- why is still showing " F grade" after introducing the keyword in page and title. After changing the title and putting the keyword inside the title, in this section, "Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title", it shows the first title, without updating my changes. I have updated several times. In some cases worked, in this case doesn't. For example "online project management software" grades F, and "project management software" grades A, even if I've put the "online" word in title an so on. Now I have the same issue with "stock management software" which grades F. "stock management" grades A, even if i've put exactly "stock management software" thanks.

Can I prevent some pages from being crawled from SEOMoz spider and still not affect Google Spider?
Well, basically that's the question 😄 Can I prevent some pages from being crawled from SEOMoz spider and still not affect Google Spider? This is, I have more than 10.000 pages on the website, and I am not interested in having reports for many of them, but I still wanna get SEO visits on them, so I want Google to crawl it easily... Thanks!

On page links tool here at Seomoz
Hi Seomoz - first of all, thanks for the best SEO tools I have ever worked with (this is my first question in this forum, and also I just subscribed as a paying customer after the 30 days trial you guys offer). My question: After having worked for several weeks on getting the numbers of links in our forum on www.texaspoker.dk down, we are somewhat surprised to see that we didn't succeed in getting lower numbers. For instance, this page: http://www.texaspoker.dk/forum/aktuelle-konkurrencer/coaching-projekt-bliver-du-den-udvalgte has (that's what Seomoz seo tool tells us): 239 on page links. Can this really be true? We can't find these links, and we actuually did a lot to lower the numbers of links, for instance the forum members picture was a link before, and also there was a "go to top" link in each post in the forum. Thanks a lot.

How to check Page Authority in bulk?
Hey guys, I'm on the free trial for SEOmoz PRO and I'm in love. One question, though. I've been looking all over the internet for a way to check Page Authority in bulk. Is there a way to do this? Would I need the SEOmoz API? And what is the charge? All I really need is a way to check Page Authority in bulk--no extra bells and whistles. Thanks, Brandon

For the "On Page Report Card", Can I see a list of all of the recommendations?
On the "On Page Repord Card", in the "Page Analysis Detail" section, I can click "Read More" for each factor and see a "Recommendation" on how to fix the page to meet that factors criteria. Are these recommendations the same everytime or will they vary depending on the page itself? Can get a copy of each recommendation that would appear if none of the criteria were met? Thanks, Daniel.
