      Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to the community for some advice on improving my website's spam score. I've been using the Moz Spam Score Checker and my website, sngplbill.pk, currently has a score of 7%. While this isn't exceptionally high, I'd like to take steps to bring it down as low as possible, ideally under 1%.

One factor I've identified that might be contributing to this score is a number of backlinks pointing to my site has a much higher spam score (over 80%). (screenshot attached)sngplbillscore

I'm wondering if the community has any recommendations for how to address this situation. Here are some specific questions I have:

Does disavowing the backlinks from spamy site seem like the best course of action?
Are there any other potential reasons why my website might have a spam score, even with these backlinks?
What general strategies can I implement to improve my website's overall SEO health and reduce its spam score?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@Faizali-786 I'm glad you figured it out. This is a common reason for a high spam score, I've seen it several times. With some patience, you should see the improvement soon.

@Hania_Sheikh12, Thanks for sharing this, Hania_Sheikh12! Especially appreciate the details about reviewing common spam signals and how you tackled them on ssgc duplicate bill. Following those steps can be really helpful for anyone facing a high spam score.

I am also working on to reducing spam score of my website by focusing on high-quality content and a clean backlink profile. Did you find any particular tools helpful for auditing backlinks?

I recently worked on reducing the spam score of my website, themepcobill.com, and I'd like to share my experience and the steps that worked for me:

Review Spam Score Factors: I began by understanding the 27 different signals Moz uses to determine a site's spam score. Although specific signals triggered on my site weren't directly shown, I evaluated common spam characteristics against my site, such as having a low number of pages and lacking HTTPS (Moz) (Moz).

Improve Content Quality: I ensured my site had high-quality, original content. I avoided thin content and duplicate pages. Adding a comprehensive and well-maintained blog or resource section significantly helped improve content quality and provided more pages for crawlers to index.

Enhance Site Security: Switching to HTTPS was a critical step. Since HTTPS is a trust signal, ensuring my site used it helped reduce the spam score. Sites without HTTPS are often correlated with spammy sites (Moz).

Audit and Clean Backlinks: Although the spam score is not directly about the backlink profile, maintaining a clean and reputable backlink profile helped my overall SEO. I used tools to audit my backlinks and disavowed any that were harmful or irrelevant.

Fix Technical SEO Issues: Regular audits for technical SEO issues like broken links, missing meta tags, and slow page load speeds were crucial. I used tools like Moz’s Site Crawl to identify and fix these issues (Moz).

Increase Engagement: Improving user engagement metrics like time on site and bounce rate was another important step. Engaging content, a user-friendly design, and clear navigation helped retain visitors and reduce the spam score.

Setting up a Moz Pro Campaign was particularly useful. It allowed me to analyze specific issues related to my spam score and provided insights on how to improve it (Moz) (Moz).

By systematically addressing these areas, I successfully reduced the spam score of themepcobill.com and improved its overall SEO health. If you're facing similar issues, I recommend starting with these steps.

Yes, at our seo company, we find that the websites that have duplicated text, spam links, or content written by A.I tend to have a very high spam score

Reducing the spam score of your website involves several steps to improve its overall trustworthiness and credibility in the eyes of search engines. Here are some strategies to help you lower your website's spam score:

                    1. Identify Low-Quality Links:
Use tools like MozBar or Google Search Console to identify low-quality or spammy backlinks pointing to your site.
Evaluate the relevance and authority of the linking domains.
Disavow or remove toxic backlinks using Google's Disavow Tool or by reaching out to webmasters requesting link removal.
                    2. Improve Content Quality:
Create high-quality, original, and valuable content that provides genuine value to users.
Avoid keyword stuffing, thin content, and content duplication.
Ensure your content is well-researched, well-written, and provides comprehensive information on the topics you cover.
                    3. Enhance On-Page SEO:
Optimize your website's on-page elements such as meta tags, headings, and image alt attributes.
Ensure proper keyword usage without over-optimization.
Improve page load speed and user experience by optimizing images, enabling caching, and minimizing server response time.
                    4. Increase Website Security:
Ensure your website is secure by using HTTPS encryption.
Regularly update your website's software, plugins, and themes to patch security vulnerabilities.
Implement security measures such as firewalls, malware scanning, and secure login procedures.
                    5. Monitor Social Signals:
Build a strong social media presence and engage with your audience on relevant platforms.
Monitor social signals such as shares, likes, and comments to gauge user engagement and trustworthiness.
                    6. Verify Business Information:
Ensure that your website's contact information, including name, address, and phone number (NAP), is accurate and consistent across all online platforms.
Claim and verify your business listings on Google My Business, Yelp, and other relevant directories.
                    7. Disavow Toxic Backlinks:
Use Google's Disavow Tool to submit a list of low-quality or spammy backlinks that you want to disassociate from your website.
Regularly review and update your disavow file to maintain a clean backlink profile.
                    8. Monitor and Maintain:
Regularly monitor your website's spam score using tools like Moz's Link Explorer or SEMrush.
Continuously audit and optimize your website's SEO practices to maintain a healthy spam score over time.
By implementing these strategies consistently, you can gradually reduce your website's spam score and improve its overall reputation and trustworthiness in the eyes of search engines.

Our competitor has employed the services of a spammy SEO agency that sends spammy links to our site. Though our rankings were affected we have taken the necessary steps. It is possible to send evidence to Google so that they can take down the site. I want to take this action so that other sites will not be affected by them again.

I am particularly new to the field of SEO and Backlinking and I have recently started my own blog feel free to have a look (https://thehorseradar.com/). What I wanted to find out is how can I achieve a DA of at least 30. What should be my link-building strategy? & what steps should I take first? With an abundance of overwhelming info available online I have gotten really confused about what would work and what would not. If someone would lay out the steps needed to be taken, I would be extremely grateful! Thank You

How to get rid of bad backlinks

off-page seo seo backlinks spam score

So I noticed my rankings going down and spam score going up. So under my spam score there are over 100 links for different websites but ALL redirect to semalt.com I researched it and it says they hijacked a bunched of backlinks but don't know much more. How can I get rid of all those backlinks? I was told I could use the disavow tool but apparently that can hurt my ranking as well. The semalt.com site has no backlink to me - it looks like the pages that have/had my backlinks, they've redirected to them. For instance this is one of the links http://www.oxvideos.xyz/indianantyphotoxxx 422005fb-9240-40a4-8b65-f5b1f5079dea-image.png

Why Google Search Console Data is different from Moz Data for my website

Hi All I am running a website, I have been using Moz since Feb 2021. Kindly go through these pics My question is why Moz is showing 2K plus backlinks while Google search console is showing just 1253 backlinks. Why fewer links in the google search console is less? How can I increase Google search console backlinks? Also, Moz is showing 90+ DA backlinks but those websites are not showing by the Google search console. What should I do to let google consider them? m0JGjBQ.jpg Cmp8ei3.png

1000 of links on my website ? is it good or bad

Hi guys my site: www.dorchdanola-netbutik.dk is a e-commerce store, and generally we have many links on all pages because of the many products and categories. Im not sure if this is actually bad or good? I've been told that it will definately harm my site when google crawls it. The thing is that google visit my site often and I still have good pageranks in google. So does it actually harm my site having all these products and categories? And what can I do about it if google see every page as duplicate content? I also link to my social pages like FB, G+, e.g. Should I put rel="nofollow" or rel="me" on these social links? Thanks guys!
