What is the best way to close my blog?

I have a blog on a separate address to my website.
http://cheshireweddingphotographyblog.co.uk/ and http://celynnenphotography.co.uk
Now I'm going to have a new website which is going to be wordpress based and it will sit on the main website (http://celynnenphotography.co.uk ) and include both gallery and blog.
now the blog does well enough on google, etc.. so i wanted to mix their SEO juju and all that, but what happens with my blog?
Do i: Stop paying for hosting, nice and simple.
OR Do I need to do something?

Re #2 it can be complicated. I refer to htaccess hacking as a black magic art of website building. But for straight 301 redirects, the code is fairly straightforward, in your .htaccess file it will be a line for every page that looks like so:
redirect 301 http://www.myoldsite.com/page1.html http://www.mynewsite.com/page1.html
This is the brute force method. You can also use regular expressions if there are patterns to the addresses, but then you're getting into the esoteric.
Re #4 they will be instantly redirected.

hi Mate,
the best thing to do is pull a report for both your website on OSE and Google Webmaster tools.
work out which current pages have links poiting to them then 301 re direct these pages to the new website, try and match up the page.
Once this is all done confirm it with GWT.

1. You should move your content from your old blog into your new wordpress blog.
2. Then you should 301 redirect all the old URLs to the new URLs. This is done in your .htaccess file on the old server
3. Submit a new sitemap to Google and also take advantage of their change of address form.All done in Webmaster Tools.
4. Keep your old site with the redirects up as long as is financially or otherwise viable.
5. Consider asking site-owners to update their links to your new URL, but be careful and polite on this because you don't want to lose the link altogether.

My client can't do domain.com/blog because he's on wix. I'm thinking blog.domain.com. Do you have any resources for the pros and cons of this? I understand that google looks at them very similarly now, is that true for google +?

What is the better way to fix duplication https and http?
Hi All! I have a doubt about how to fix the duplication problem https @ http. What is the better way to fix it in your opionion/experience? Me, for instance, I have chosen to put "noindex, nofollow" into https version. Each page of my site has a https version so I put this metarobots into it....But I am not sure about what happens with all backlinks with "https" URLs I have, I've just checked I have some...What do you think about it? 600+ 404 Errors: Best Practice for Redirects?
Hi All, I've just checked my GWMT profile for one of my client's sites and found that there are currently over 600 404 Error notifications! This is not that surprising given that we very recently redesigned and launched their new corporate site, which previously had a ton of "junk" legacy pages. I was wondering if it would work in terms of efficient SEO to simply apply a 301 redirect from the 404 page to our root to solve this issue? If not what would be a good solution? Best practice for Landing page in Wordpress
Hi Mozers, has anyone experience in setting up landing pages with Wordpress? The problem I want to solve is the following: I work with a membership area like SEOmoz in which I have some bigger plugins running. If i make a landing page in the same installation like a custom post type/template or via another plugin like "Premise" all plugins will automatically load as well. That will harm my page loading time. Do you think, I should work maybe with Wordpress Multisites? Landing pages as a separate blog and the membership area as another blog? Appreciate any good idea! Best way to retain banklink values when moving site?
Hi all, I want to get some opinions on what the best practice is when transferring backlink values from an old site to a new one. On the old site, I currently have a product page and this particular product has multiple models all listed on the one singe page. However on the new site, every model of this particular product has its own page. These product model pages would have relatively similar content apart from several key details which differentiates the models. Firstly would you guys recommend this splitting of models of the same product to different pages? If so, my initial thought process is to 301 redirect the old product page to the new model page that is most popular, and adding rel canonical tags to the other model pages. Would you consider this best practice? Or are there better ways I can be doing this to retain backlink values without also getting penalised due to possible content duplication? Thanks! What is the best way to deal with pages whose content changes?
My site features businesses that offers activities for kids. Each business has its own page on my site. Business pages contains a listing of different activities that organization is putting on (such as events, summer camps, drop-in activities). Some businesses only offer seasonal activities (for example, during Christmas break and summer camps). The rest of the year, the business has no activities -- the page is empty. This is creating 2 problems. It's poor user experience (which I can fix no problem) but it also is thin content and sometimes treated as duplicate content. What's the best way to deal with pages whose content can be quite extensive at certain points of the year and shallow or empty at other parts? Should I include a meta ROBOTS tag to not index when there is no content, and change the tag to index when there is content? Should I just ignore this problem? Should I remove the page completely and do a redirect? Would love to know people's thoughts.
