Guest blogging tips needed!
-
Hi,
I'm about to start guest blogging for the first time, I have a particular keyword I want to push up, it currently sits page 2, position 1 and I would like to push this up into the top 5 results.
The 5 results I need to jump past also happen to be my main competitors, but I don't think they are activity link building for this keyword as url's are not SEO friendly (containing query strings), meta descriptions don't have the keyword word exact.
So the solutions is link building with anchor text links from relevant, auth websites.
The method I want to use to achieve this is guest blogging but as I am just starting out on the guest blogging front does anyone have any tips on how to find good blogs which will help?
I found a website called myblogguest.com but the blogs on there dont seem that great, I have been doing a few queries in Google to try and find them instead such as;
"write for us" keyword
then researching the blogs with the SEOMOZ tools.
Cheers

Have you tried running your target keywords through the SEOMoz 'Juicy Link Finder' tool?
This will most likely drum up some prospects for you to approach about guest blogging spots.
For more advanced searches have a look at the Competitive Link Research Tool and Link Acquisition Assistant.
Good luck!

Been offered a no follow link on a blog post ?. Is it worth it ?
Hi All, We are having a go at doing our own link building and just wanted some advice on a couple of questions I've found some industry related blog sites which could be good but alot of them only offer a no follow link ?. Is this worth it ? And if ,so what is the advantage of having a no follow link ? as it won't directly help with our DA etc ? I've also noticed some of these sites link to each other or recommend each other (i.e other blog sites) which may be some sort of link network ?.. I take it this is bad ? and could be penalized by google ? thanks pete

Blog Co-Op - Purchasing Links in Relevant Blogs
Hello, Our SEO company has recommended participating in a blog co-op, where we can purchase a link on a relevant blog, either submitting our own content or letting them find relevant anchor text in an article on their site and adding a link back to us. Links are running $40 - 100 based on Page Rank of the blog. I realize that it is BETTER not to buy a link, but is this going to hurt us if the blog content is relevant to our industry?

Link Building: Just Great Content, Blog Comments, and Guest Blog Posts?
I love SEOMoz. It has motivated me to dive way more into SEO. I know all the shoulds. But what fascinates me about SEO is that shoulds don't always match up to what works. I'm looking at Open Site Explorer, specifically my site. I see a lot of links I got naturally. By having awesome content. So is there any point in emailing people asking htem to add my link? Or do I spend my time writing awesome content, sharing it on social media, and hoping someone comes across it and shares it? I know blog commenting, when relevant, can bring me new visitors. I'm sure it helps SEO too. Maybe I just need to reach out and write guest blog posts for grabbing some links? Its just as Google wants it! OMG, how white hat. Is that it? or should I be even more active? I.E. emailing people and saying "hey, I have this awesome website, your readers would find it useful" sort of thing? Love to hear your opinion!

Guest blogging company - yay or nay?
I'm considering working with a guest blogging company. The quality of the writing seems to be decent / not spammy. The types of sites they're guest blogging on are... http://theblogabouteverything.com/ http://globalgoodgroup.com/ I know these are fairly generic blogs. Is there any chance of a manipulative link penalty with these types of sites? Thanks!

What after I place a blog comment
I have started commenting on high PR DoFollow blogs more strongly off late. I don't do it just for the heck of it. I comment on relevant posts, go through them nicely and make sensible comments. This way I make sure my comments are not removed by the admin, What I want to know is... What after I make the comment and put my website's URL there? Does that mean I have got a backlink already? Or do I need to do something else too to make sure Google recognizes that as a backlink? I have the same question regarding forum postings too.
