BOTW links not recognized by Open Site Explorer
-
Hi there, I was wondering if I buy a submission to the Best of the Web directory (waiting for the new directory list promised by the seomoz team )
but when I get to the category on BOTW website that will fit for my website, I took some links already there and put them on open site explorer to see their value, I had the surprise they are not even recognized...
So I am still wondering if it is worth or not...
voilĂ , if anybody knows if this directory still has value...

George, I looked at the page you shared and it appears as a solid page for a link. If it is not appearing in OSE, I would recommend contacting the help desk. There has been some issues with the Linkscape index, which is the source data OSE results are based upon.
The next Linkscape update is scheduled for Sep 20. The issue may resolve itself after the update. But based on the information you shared, it should appear currently so my recommendation is to contact the help desk so they can investigate the issue. If they can locate a bug or tweak, it may be possible to fix it without waiting another month to see your link.

Hi,
thanks for your answer, look at the category :Â http://botw.org/top/Sports/Martial_Arts/Capoeira/
the links are there for month, some for years, but when I put them into OSE, the BOTW links are not listed for none of them...

BOTW definitely has value and it's links are recognized by OSE. There are two things you should understand when using OSE:
1. The links in OSE are based on the Linkscape crawl of the web. The data is updated approximately once/month and it can be two full months before a link is visible in OSE.
2. Links are recognized based on the linking page value. DMOZ is considered by many to be the #1 directory, but there are dmoz pages that are buried so deeply they have no PR. Check the PA of the page your site will be listed on before attempting to be listed in the BOTW directory. If the site does not have a good PA value, then the link will be of little value IF it is even seen.

Search Console says 111 links. Moz says 3\. Do I have a site problem?
I understand that Moz doesn't show all links; but i would think that out of 111 links from 43 root domains, they'd at least show 20 or 30 root domains. I definitely have more than 3 credible sites linking back to me. So do I have an issue? I've been trying to get my site ranking for 9 months, and I've tried EVERYTHING. Still no significant movement. Please help me figure out what's going on. I've been trying to get my site ranking for 9 months, and I've tried EVERYTHING. Still no significant movement. I'm wondering—maybe even hoping—that this will help me uncover a problem that could set the whole thing back on course. Please help me figure out what's going on.

Open Site Explorer produces better results for www.50campfires.com than 50campfires.com
Our website url is 50campfires.com and www.50campfires.com redirects to 50campfires.com Look at the Open Site Explorer results for the two and www.50campfires.com has better results. Does google have an issue with this or may it be confusing them? We have redirects in place. How would I go about fixing this? More on what strategies would improve Page Authority and Page Rank. Does SEOmoz have a tool to find mirror sites?
I heard from a company that is trying to get my clients SEO business that they discovered multiple sites mirroring our site's content. Does SEOmoz have a tool to find these websites? Or does Google?

Finding Broken Links
My campaign report says I have a 404 error for a sub page located at domain/products/contact.aspx My contact page is not in the /products directory so what I'm wondering is if this means that somewhere on a site I have a link pointed to /products/contact.aspx. I've looked everywhere and cannot find the link if it is out there somewhere.

Does Google have a direct link with facebook and twitter?
Google monitor social media. What I'm wondering is do Google use the same tools we have on Facebook's API, Twitter's API etc to use in their SERPs Or do Facebook grant Google more detailed access to see who has liked links etc. I think it's quite an interesting point as surely I can push up my own count by repeatedly sharing my own links, which wouldn't be genuine. If Google had better access they could then determine what's been faked etc.

Viewing links gained over time
Is there a way to see how the number of inbound links has changed over time for a campaign? It is hard to tell whether links are increasing for a campaign without historical data being stored so trends can be shown

Open Site Explorer Missing URL's
I see a link to my site on a couple different url's, but they are not listed in OSE. The links have been active for a long time too. Â Does OSE not track all inbound links from all sites? Thanks, Stephen

Competitive .edu Research via Open Site Explorer
