Inter-link Optimization for Pages
-
Hi Guys,
How much interlinking is okay for between pages? Can i start link my internal pages like Wikipedia does? 20,30 interlink per page?
OR is it all depends on Page Authority? Can i go inter-link crazy on 1 year old legitimate site?
Big Thanks?

Hi Matthew.
I think you have the right idea and thought process. Interlinking pages is very user friendly and a solid SEO strategy. Links in content offer more value then links in navigation or footers both to users and SEO. This strategy also provides link to many pages in your site which otherwise are not part of your navigation.
The greatest part is the links are offered based on popularity. Links in navigation and footers are always there. Even if not a single visitor comes to your site, those links are always there on every page. Proper internal linking as used on wikipedia only appears when a topic is discussed. The more it is discussed, the more links and vice versa. This strategy allows much better management of your site's precious link juice.
Does it all depends on Page Authority?
How frequently and deeply your site is crawled always depends upon your PA/DA. With that said, your links in content will be given the highest priority and that's another great part of proper internal linking. As long as you keep things helpful to users and reasonable, I would not have any concerns. Review your navigation/sidebar/footer links to ensure they are all necessary. If so, I would continue with your plan. I hate to throw out a number because there are many factors to consider, but I would not recommend going too much about 140 links unless your PA/DA was strong.
Can i go inter-link crazy on 1 year old legitimate site?
Site age is not a factor. 1 day or 15 years old you would use the same linking strategies. I hate to endorse anything with the term "crazy" in it. I would say you can use interlinking in a similar manner to wikipedia. If that's what you call crazy, so be it.

interlinking like crazy isn't going to help with your seo results too much. You can certainly interlink 20,30 between pages, but only if it's helpful from a user perspective.
Don't litter your pages with internal links for no reason, it's unlikely to aid your seo efforts and may in fact look spammy and hinder them.
Create a good navigational structure so that users and crawl bots can navigate round your site easily and quickly. Things like bread crumbs help so that the users can see where they've navigated from and can easily get back to where they've been.
I'm not sure why you'd want to interlink lots on a 1 year old legitimate site, but if it's performing well as it is then why would you want to?

Canonicalisation and Dynamic Pages
We have an e-commerce single page app hosted at https://www.whichledlight.com and part of this site is our search results page (http://www.whichledlight.com/t/gu10-led-bulbs?fitting_eq=GU10). To narrow down products on the results we make heavy use of query parameters. From an SEO perspective we are telling GoogleBot to not index pages that include these query parameters to prevent duplicate content issues and to not index pages where the combination of query parameters has resulted in no results being returned. The only exception to this is the page parameter. We are posting here to check our homework so to speak. Does the above sound sensible? Although we have told GoogleBot to not index these pages, Moz will still crawl them (to the best of my knowledge), so we will continue to see crawl errors within our Moz reports where in fact these issues don't exist. Is this true? Is there anyway to make Moz ignore pages with certain query parameters? Any other suggestions to improve the SEO of our results pages is most appreciated. Thanks

Can I redirect a link even if the link is still on the site
Hi Folks, I've got a client who has a duplicate content because they actually create duplicate content and store the same piece of content in 2 different places. When they generate this duplicate content, it creates a 2nd link on the site going to the duplicate content. Now they want the 2nd link to always redirect to the first link, but for architecture reasons, they can't remove the 2nd link from the site navigation. We can't use rel-canonical because they don't want visitors going to that 2nd page. Here is my question: Are there any adverse SEO implications to maintaining a link on a site that always redirects to a different page? I've already gone down the road of "don't deliberately create duplicate content" with the client. They've heard me, but won't change. So, what are your thoughts? Thanks!

Will unused/dead pages within my site that is non-linked hurt my seo?
For example my website has mysite.com/randomunusedpage.html No links go into that page from the website but it is published (came with the WP theme). Will that hurt my SEO and should I delete the page or is it harmless? Thanks

Optimizing Forums
Hello Moz Team, I'd like to inquire about our forums section on how to optimize them the best way. So, we started a forums section and our audience likes them very much, we were able to get a few hundred subscribers and it has been very active http://violintutorpro.com/forums/ I created a campaign in Moz Analytics and it came back that we had tons of dupe content, all coming from the tags in the forums. We can remove the tags just so we won't have dupe content, but, how can we use each topic as a content on their own. We currently have a few hundred of dupe content.

How to Break Up a Page with Too Many Links
My client has a live page with 100+ links subdivided into 10 categories that each have great potential keyword targeting opportunities. I'd like to improve this page and my intuition is to split it into 11 pages, one page with links to all the others and a bit of content about each. Here's an example of the potential IA: Dog Rescue Groups

Link 3 - description Is this a good idea and will I see a big traffic drop overall at first? Also, these are all internal links, not external.0 -
