Twitter profile: Personal photo vs brand graphic image
-
We are promoting our company on twitter, and currently using a high quality brand graphic image. We see others who use the personal photo of "evangalist" who manages the twitter account. Any advice on what works best here to encourage user engagement? A more generic "brand" identity graphic versus a real person's photo?
Of course this is in conjunction with doing all of the other good Twitter things, but curious what folks recommend on the profile image.

If you have the resources and you are a well known brand its great to have both the generic and the real person.
But if your brand is relatively unknown, resources are limited and you are wishing to promote your company I would be using the logo. I use my company logo for Garden Beet. Many in my tweet network have got to know me over time and use my name on tweets as well. That has its own set of problems and benefits.
Nevertheless it loads easier to create connection with a person than a logo. I know I prefer a person to a logo - but that is not meeting my longer term goal of trying to get my brand - Garden Beet - known.

More info on the size of your company and also the industry and what you expect from Twitter would help.
Personally, I don't think there is any harm in maintaining both accounts.Have employees create their own Twitter accounts and use their Firstname-YourBrand (e.g. Craig-SEOMoz) as handles - that way it has a personal feel but it also helps in branding each time other viewers look at their profiles/tweets.

How to remove an unwanted Twitter account
Hello Mozers We have just discovered a rogue social media account for our company which was set up back in 2015. It has our company name with 'ltd' tacked onto the end to make a unique handle. Unfortunately as we don't know who set it up, we don't have any of the usernames and passwords necessary to go into it to potentially remove it. Does any one have any suggestions? Thanks Catherine

Twitter Help
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask a question on Twitter. Something has perplexed me, both these tweets contain videos and both have been RT on my account On one you have to click into the BBC tweet to play the video, the other straight away plays and credits the original source. (see pics). When the video plays in the 2nd example you always get more interaction, RT's, likes etc compared to a RT where you have to click again. How does this happen? I've managed to do it once but cannot replicate it, even with the same tweet!! I'm sure it's something totally obvious. Here's how they look (images) http://imgur.com/a/G6ods

Do having social sharing icons such as Twitter and Pinterest slow down site speed?
We are debating a redesign of a travel site and wondering whether having social sharing buttons including Pinterest and Facebook above each image would slow down site speed and therefore have a negative impact on our rankings. We are deciding between having the icons above each image or just in the side bar of all pages. Many thanks, Penny

Outreach person different than guest post write
Hello, For a current client of mine, the person doing the outreach (me) and the person who is going to write the guest post (expert) are different people. Also, the expert doesn't want their real name published. They're going to use their first and middle name instead of first and last. How do I taylor my outreach and link building to accommodate the above two facts? BTW: The expert's picture is on the site if that helps, in an "Ask the Expert" menu tab Thanks

Facebook page vs Facebook place
Forgive this question, but I've always wondered is there a difference between a Facebook Page and Facebook Place page? What if a business has both? Thanks
