Hi i keep getting messages about this 123 reg service which i use to buy some of my domain names and i would like to know what you think of the instant traffic service they offer where they register your domain with search engines.
Does this service work or is it a waste of money and you should do it manually.

I was curious so I took a look at the site.
Basic package - the only service they provide is to submit your sitemap 12x per month. Very simple and cheap sitemap software will do this for you free as many times as you want. No value at all. Not really worth mentioning but they submit to 100 search engines. Since Bing+Yahoo+Google = 98% of traffic, and Ask = 1%, the rest really don't matter.
I looked at their remaining packages and I see nothing of any tangible benefit to a SEOmoz PRO member.

I have no idea what that is but it sounds really, really cool. If they're going to do that, what else do you need?
For engines that matter you don't need to submit anything. In fact, I would just go about getting your links and you'll be found anyways. You don't need this service.

Nothing spectacular here. It is just a standard search engine submission service. How in the world can they offer any thing more - in terms of organic search. Either that or they would probably put the website up on their network of site to drive some traffic through.

Home Page Ranking Instead of Service Pages
Hi everyone! I've noticed that many of our clients have pages addressing specific queries related to specific services on their websites, but that the Home Page is increasingly showing as the "ranking" page. For example, a plastic surgeon we work with has a page specifically talking about his breast augmentation procedure for Miami, FL but instead of THAT page showing in the search results, Google is using his home page. Noticing this across the board. Any insights? Should we still be optimizing these specific service pages? Should I be spending time trying to make sure Google ranks the page specifically addressing that query because it SHOULD perform better? Thanks for the help. Confused SEO :/, Ricky Shockley

Best SEO service/process to harness the power of quality backlinks?
What/who would you recommend for those looking for a strategy around realizing the benefits of high quality back links? We have tons of earned links from DA 90+ sites, but don't think we are realizing the full benefit due to onsite issues. We have scraper sites outranking us. Would it be a technical on page audit? SEO Ramifications of migrating traditional e-commerce store to a platform based service
Hi I'm thinking of migrating my 11 year old store to a hosted platform based e-commerce provider such as Shopify or Amazon hosted solutions etc etc I'm worried though that will lose my domains history and authority if i do so Can anyone advise if this is likely or will be same as a 301 redirect etc etc and should be fine ? Paid directory links--good or bad thing to do for Prof. Services sites?
Yes, I am pretty darn new to SEO and have heard that Google doesn't like Paid directory links. I have looked at some of my competition and they must have paid to get in certain directories as I don't see any backlinks posted on their home pages (usually a badge or icon must be placed on the homepage to avoid a fee.)

Is creating backlinks to Google places pages worth the time and money involved?
I have worked on a website and organically it is starting to do fine. The website itself is on the right track. Now, the places page, could use a little improvement. I did make sure it has the right categories, has all unique pictures and videos, it does have a good amount of reviews and even citations from other local directories, and even the website links to it. It does show up for some local searches but I would like it to dominate more. I've heard that if I've built links to that Google Places local page from other sources, it would rank higher and perform better. Is that true? Any other tips and tricks to make it perform better? Page rank 2 for home page, 3 for service pages
Hey guys, I have noticed with one of our new sites, the home page is showing page rank two, whereas 2 of the internal service pages are showing as 3. I have checked with both open site explorer and yahoo back links and there are by far more links to the home page. All quality and relevant directory submissions and blog comments. The site is only 4 months old, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the fact 2 of the lesser linked pages are showing higher PR? Thanks 🙂

Is SEO affected when hosting service is changed?
I put my plan to change web hosts on abeyance when an SEO friend of mine told me that it would negatively impact the sites SEO. I am not changing the url or anathing, just the host.
