Tracing Google Analytics 'goal' back to original search phrase
-
I added Goals to my Google Analytics tracking. It's working; I get visitors who have completed Goals showing up in the reporting.
My question is: Is it possible to trace backwards from a completed Goal to the original search phrase a user entered in Google to come to my site (for those who entered from Google.com via organic search result)?
I'm trying to answer the question of which search phrases are resulting in completed Goals (as opposed to bouncing off the site or just any behaviour other than completing a Goal).
It seems like this should be one of Analytics' default reports -- help identify which search phrases are converting well. It's probably there and I'm just not seeing it...
Thanks.

Hi Mike,
This is pretty straightforward:
-
Go to customised reports and create a new one.
-
Fill in all of you relevant metrics including your goal completions
-
For your top level Dimension select Source from Traffic Sources
-
For you next Dimension select Keyword
You can then drill down to see the keywords

Hi Mike,
Your answer could be found indeed within Google Analytics but you have to calculate it yourself by creating an Advanced Segment. In my opininon this would be the best solution for your question.
By creating a new Advanced Segment you will segment only the visitors who completed your specific goal. And so you can see in your reports the (organic/paid) keywords they used right before visiting your Web site.
An example of your advanced segment would be:
- Completed Goal 1 where the value is greater than or equal to 1(because they should have completed your goal at least 1 time, see my screenshot.
- The next step is to apply this advanced segment over the (organic/paid) keywords which could be found in your keyword reports under Traffic Courses.
Let me know if this is what you are looking for, happy analyzing!

How to FILTER in Google Analytics an ad campaign from linkedin?
Hi mozzers We are setting up an a linkedin ad campaign for our agency and want to track its traffic and conversions. The linkedin ad will carry UTMs for each link. For tracking this campaign accurately I thought about creating a new GA View with a specific filter. So my question is about the filtering, should i use the INCLUDE, REFERRAL with pattern LINKEDIN.COM (see image)? if not what would be the best way to track this campaign? My other concern is that we are also running other a job ad on linkedin and I feel these hits will be tracked as well. Is there a way to separate those 2 campaigns? Thanks guys! MzE5hqE.png

How to detect where Google gets indexed URL's
Google index some kind of way some links that create duplicate content. We doesn't understand how these are created so we would like detect where Google robots find these links. We tried: Moz Crawl Diagnostics but it shows 0 as Internal Link Count for these kind of links. Find some information from Google Analytics, that maybe there is trace (site content - all content) from visitors side. There wan't. We tried to find some information in Webmaster Tools under Internal link and HTML Improvements but didn't find any trace. Tried some search commands. Is there maybe some good one to search. TO search URL's form code with https://search.nerdydata.com.
