Links are not found in OSE or am I missing ?
-
Hi.. All of our targeted pages have gone through serious Blog Posting and Social Bookmarking. All the sites were more than PR1 or 2 and all of them had a dofollow link with the perfect anchor texts. But when I trying to check our pages on OSE, it doesnt any of them. Why is that ? Im getting worried now. We have spent our last 7 months on this .
-
But there are still some displaying, correct? It can take up to 60 days for OSE to show links after discovering, and it doesn't discover all links. Have you checked OSE to see if it indexes the pages where you have your link?
You've verified the link is still there. Google makes a much deeper crawl than OSE, so if the linking pages are indexed in Google and the links are clean, then Google will see it, and I wouldn't get too worried over things.
In my case, there's an MIT link out there to my competitor's site that's not showing anymore, and I'm sure the link is still there. It's just from a faculty member's website that is mostly abandoned.
-
Still not showing the ones, which we did in last 2-3 months.
-
I'm now seeing several links to that exact page in Open Site Explorer. Take a look at this link: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?page=1&site=www.qubesys.com%2Fpsd-to-joomla-template%2F&sort=page_authority&filter=&source=external&target=page&group=0
-
Have the links displayed in the new OSE release? Is your domain one that you can list publicly here for us to look at and help determine what is happening?
-
Also keep in mind that Open Site Explorer represents the top 25% of the web; it is not a full crawl of the web (more information at http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/about).
Two things to try. One is to put in the domain for where you know you have links into OSE and see if it's even indexed. The next is to be patient and try again in a week, since the next update of OSE is scheduled for next Tuesday -- they may get picked up in the next crawl.
-
In that case, check the blogs by doing a google search for site:yourblogname.com and make sure the blogs are indexed if you haven't checked that already. You might want to try Yahoo Site Explorer too. If the blog pages that contain your links are showing in either or both of those and the pages are older than about a month, contact SEOMoz support. It may be some kind of glitch.
-
Okay, we do it in house and yes, we have checked everything 5 times.
All the anchor texts are in good state.
-
Could be a few things:
If the blog posts have only appeared within the last few weeks, they may not show in OSE. Link analysis was last updated on September 8th, I think. Since you say it has been about 7 months, this is probably not the case. I know Google will ignore some spam blogs, but I think OSE would still show the links. Just because the blogs have PR1 or 2 doesn't mean they are indexed. If they are blatantly spammy or have been selling links for a while, they may have been dropped.
In my experience, many social bookmarking sites don't always show up in OSE or many other link trackers. Not sure which ones do and which ones don't.
The worst case scenario is if you paid someone else to do the blog posts and bookmarks and they didn't really do it. Have you checked any of them to see if they are actually there?

Links not pointing to my website?
Aloha everyone! I've asked questions to the Moz community before and have always been happy to see how responsive and helpful the community is as a SEO learning new comer! Many thanks in advance for any ideas or insights to solving this problem. So here is my question, I own a wedding photography business here on Kauai and am looking to rank for a few things, Kauai wedding photographer, Kauai Wedding videographer, and Kauai family photographer. That aside I've been pouring more time into getting back links from people I've shot with here on Kauai (local business's websites etc) and have had links dropped in on their sites to, in theory, bump my rankings up from back linking my website. Here's my website http://www.balihaiphoto.com/ Here's a few sites but are not showing up as backlinks/pushing my site higher on SEO results (screen shot as well) http://www.haleleakeiki.org/ (bottom of page footer linking to BaliHaiPhoto.com) and another site here http://www.wishingwellshaveice.com/ with the same thing, footer link pointing to my website. Both sites have been indexed and the shave ice one gets a good amount of traffic, does anyone know why this isn't showing as a back link or if its passing on any link juice my way? Should I do something diffrent here? Let me know what you guys think! Aloha from Kauai, Jon Gibb qsDOM

Missing HTTP response
Hi guys, Might be a dumb question but I'm not seeing a solution at the moment. I have this UA code online to start measuring cross-domain for a couple of websites. When I do a test, a missing HTTP response message appears. Anyone notices any errors that could retrieve this message? This is my code (dummy): Thanks,

How Am I Linked to These Sites?
I was going through Google Analytics, specifically looking at the Channels under Acquisition. I found a number of sites that Google is giving credit as sources of traffic.
Reporting & Analytics | | TowerMarketing
When I went to the sites, however, and searched the page source for links to my site, I could not find any. My site is www.towermarketing.net. The sites being listed by GA are:
blackhawkhardware.com
musicas.baixar-musicas-gratis.com If anyone can tell me how Tower is getting traffic from these sites, and what I can do to fix it - because at this point I am considering them spam - I would appreciate it. Thanks!0 -

Webmaster Not found URLs
Dear All, I would really like help with this. Due to some unknown reason (another thread is open for this reason), my google webmaster is showing 7000 not found URL's. Now, when i try to find out the day these broken URLs were detected, webmaster is showing dates between November 2011 to December 2nd, 2011. I havent found a single not found error showing after 2nd December 2011. So does that mean that the mistake has been solved? Because daily webmaster is adding 200-300 not found URLs. Along with this, my traffic has dropped drastically since 12th December and has still not recovered. Are these not found URLs the reason for this sudden traffic drop? If so, then i m ready to find someone for paid seo to remove this error. I would love to have some concrete answers for these questions. Thanksss

Will javascript generated links affect my bounce rate?
Hi all, I run a site called Applicable Jobs (http://www.applicablejobs.com) and from analyising my analytics I notice my bounce rate is unusually high at around 85%. I'm keen to get this right down as I've read recently that a high bounce rate is a metric Google uses in determining positioning in the SERPs. I honestly don't think it's the quality of my content because I feel it's genuinely useful to my target audience but I'm wondering if the way my jobs list is generated is causing an issue. At the moment I have my jobs listings generated through javascript so I can have nice effects and use a bit of ajax but if Google crawls it, it obviously won't be able to see the listings. So I'm wondering if when a user comes to the site and they click on one of the job listings, does the Google analytics code recognise that click because that link is generated through javascript? Thanks

Compute PageRank yourself - Which OSE metrics as input
Hi, we're running a project here where we try to optimize our internal link structure by computing the PageRank ourselves given your existing link graph. Right now we weight all pages the same, which is kind of incorrect given that quite a number of our pages have external links, hence have more LinkJuice. We'd now like to include a weight that respects the external link power to a page. Anyone got suggestions OSE metric would be good? I was thinking of Page Authority, but I assume this is computed by taking both external and internal links into consideration. Alternatively I could use sum all PageAuthority values of inlinks to a certain page, but as Page Authority seems exponential, this seems to be the wrong thing. Anyone out there you who tried the same before? Cheers,

Links and index missing from Google Webmaster Tools!
I've been using a wordpress blog and using google analytics and webmaster tools. I'd never done very much optimizing of my site, my strategy had always been to just keep writing relevant posts and let google do the rest. At some point I installed a SEO plugin to wordpress and did a tiny amount of tweaking, but I noticed that in my webmaster tools page, all my "links to this site" links are gone! My site map says 42 pages submitted, 42 pages indexed, but all the links that I've built over the past few years are missing, and I also notice that I can't find my main landing page in the index anymore. I know there are indexed sites out there that link to me, but they aren't being reflected anymore. Did I anger google by using SEO plugins within wordpress? I'm fairly certain I wasn't doing anything sketchy. Http://brodiegraphics.com RTOH6.png
