Bing - how come we are not shown in listing?
-
Hi
When looking for our site 'mpn windows' on Bing www.mpnwindows.com it brings back no results for the site? It has been registered in bing webmaster center with pages starting being indexed on the 3rd October as we only recently included it in Bing.
In Google it is showing up ok however?

From the standpoint of Bing not indexing all pages my first guess would be poor internal linking and then insure you have a good site map. One of the biggest errors I see when we have a problem is that we have not paid close enough attention to our internal linking.
Hope it helps.
Had to go look again. From what I see the only link to Conservatories Llanelli is in the footer. This may be where your problem is as it appears the others all have other links. Try putting a link from one of the other areas on the page and see what affect it has.

Thanks for the reply
What is curious however is that Bing has not indexed all of the pages in the site? what could be causing this?
The other issues is searching for phrases such as 'Conservatories Llanelli' does not bring back any sort of listing for http://www.mpnwindows.com/conservatories-llanelli.php while on Google its a 1st page listing same goes for 'PVC Windows Cardiff'
I understand that there are different ranking factors dependent on the engine used but what could be done to the site both onsite and offsite to improve the Bing ranking for target keyphrases as above while also comlementing and improving the Google rank.

In Bing I just did a Site:www.mpnwindows.com and got a full return showing multiple urls for that subdomain. When I did same with Site:mpnwindows.com root, I got back the same. It appears you have a good canoncical redirect as well as it returns the www. subdomain on either.
Not sure what problem you are having or if I just hit it as it had been solved. Either way it appears you are good to go.
Edit - Also got clever and went to rank tracker and put in mpnwindows.com as keyword and http://mpnwindows.com as url and you are ranked #1 for that search term on Bing. (Just curious if it would work.)

Rich Snippet to Appear as a List
Hi guys, I'm trying to optimize a page to improve the chances of it appearing as a rich snippet in a list format (ie. Top 5 tips for...). I'm using the All in One Schema Rich Snippet Plugin in Wordpress and I'm wondering if you manually need to enter the bullets into the schema rich snippet maker or if Google pulls the information from the article and lists it themselves? Appreciate any help. Thanks!

How do you think metatag author will change with google uncoupling them. Will they still affect bing?
With google removing the metag author functionality how do you think metatag author will be used if at all. will functionality change? will it have any use? and should resources being used to implement it? Secondly, will bing utilize it in some way much like they use keywords as a negative signal.

What the secret for Bing and Yahoo
I guess you guys will probably think me a complete airhead, but I've been so focused on obtaining traffic from Google that I completely forgot about Bing and Yahoo. Moz Analytics shows that 99% of my organic traffic comes from Google, 1% from Bing (up by 67% from last week!?) and 0% from Yahoo and baidu. Just wanted to check a couple of things. Is this poor performance due to any lack on my behalf Or are these search engines used? I'm kind of thinking that if I can obtain multiple page one phrases with Google; why isn't this replicated by the other search engines? And if there are opportunities available how do I optimise my pages for them And if I do, will this affect my Google rankings Cheers in advance, Lee 🙂

Moz showing 384 description duplicates on my ecommerce store.... when I download CSV, most pages are coming from my WordPress Blog, why?
Hi, I am trying to investigate why I am getting 384 description duplicates on my ecommerce store (www.doggie-diva.com)? When I download the CSV file from MOZ, the majority of the pages they refer to are pages from my Word Press blog, which is hosted on a different server (blog.doggie-diva.com). I do have a link from my website to my Word Press blog and vice versa. Can you please explain to me why this is happening when I don't have duplicate content? Example of a page flagged from www.doggie-diva.com with duplicate content (http://blog.doggie-diva.com/tag/dog-gymnastics. Thanks, Rachel <colgroup><col width="549"></colgroup>

How Does Google Webmaster Tools Come Up with Content Keywords?
When I look at Google Webmaster Tools, in the Content Keywords report there are a couple of ones that are suspect - "prescription", "medications", and "viagra" which are completely unrelated to the content of the site. When I click on the content keyword, and search the source code for those pages, I don't see those words in the source code. Can someone please help me figure out why Google thinks that these keywords are associated with these pages, and how to correct it?

Why am I ranking on both Bing and Yahoo and yet the rankings are declining on Google
I'm seeing ranking go up on both Bing and Yahoo and yet they are going down on Google. I did see a bunch of spammy links show up about a month ago but have managed to get all those taken down although did not get any warnings from Google in Webmaster tools about them was more of a preemptive measure. The site in question. http://www.gocitrusnow.com

Page dropped from 4 to outside top 50, but now present in Places listings.
Whoa! In one week, I had a clients site drop from number 4 to outside of the top 50 in rankings. So confused! Also, the site is now showing up in the local results section (which it wasnt before). Does Google drop your site if your site appears in local results? Did the local result replace the ranking?

Lists of Product Links: What is good, what is bad?
I am a web designer but a bit of an SEO noob (trying to get better at both). I am working with one particular client on a site I inherited with existing structure. This client has about 10 products on 2 pages. On every page there is a product list that is basically the same list sorted in 2 ways: 1st by product, 2nd by usage. These all link to internal anchors so this might be an example on www.site.com Cleaner X1 - links to www.site.com/cleaners.php#x1

Cleaner X2 - links to www.site.com/cleaners.php#x2
Cleaner X3 - links to www.site.com/cleaners.php#x3
...
Cleaner For Brick - links to www.site.com/cleaners.php#x1
Cleaner For Marble - links to www.site.com/cleaners.php#x2
Cleaner For Stone - links to www.site.com/cleaners.php#x3 Obviously this adds about 20 links on every page on the site (including the actual pages these products are on). What are your thoughts on this? Good idea or bad to have on the site? Should I remove the redundant links on the actual page that product falls on...or is this bad and should be removed altogether?0
