Facebook Comment Notifications
-
I setup Facebook comments on my site using the iframe setup. I thought FB would notify me whenever someone comments on my website, but that is not the case. Now people are commenting and I would have to look through hundreds of pages on my site to reply to their questions.
I searched the web on how to do this, but I am lost when looking at the steps. Can anyone help provide clear instructions on how to notify me of my website comments on my FB page or by email?

Any time, keep on rocking and thanks for the link.

Thanks for the help. It is greatly appreciated!
I have hundreds of dynamically created pages that I am hoping will benefit from more unique content. Here is an example page: http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/surety-bonds/surety_bond.php?bond_form_id=626&bond_type_id=320
I'll reply here when I know more about the impact.
I searched all over for how to properly hide the output of the FB script, but can't find anything that is guaranteed white hat.

Great, im happy you got it working. Sure, keep it white hat. i would have a look on the Facebook Forums, im sure there are many developers out there with the same issue.
Please keep me updated. Im curious to see how this impacts your traffic.

I implemented the subscribe script at: http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/surety-bonds/commercial-bonds/auto_dealer_bond.htm
Unfortunately, the FB php script displays the text and I am not sure the white hat way to hide it from the browsers since they already see the commments in the iframe.
I also found that FB has a variable for 'send_notification_uid', which you can loust your user id to be notified. I implemented both for now and will see which is better.

Any news? If this helped then please mark this answered for me

basically you will need to add this, making the notify value true, hope this works.
3 down vote acceptedAdd the notify="true" attribute to the fb:comments tag.
FB.Event.subscribe('comment.create', function(response)
{
alert(response);

Awesome! I integrated the meta tag so the comments appear in the "Comment Moderation Tool". I COULD just check on that daily, but it looks like it can notify me further. Here is what the documentation says...
How do I know when someone comments on my site?
You can subscribe to the 'comment.create' and 'comment.remove' events through FB.Event.subscribe.
Any idea on how to "subscribe" to something?

Ok cool. From the research i did a while ago i found out that this feature was removed from the API.
I cam across this thread which says admins can moderate comments made on their sites, thus i assume you can view comments / get notified before they are publish.
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/comments/
Look at the section that says Moderation Tools
Pleas let me know if this helped or not.

A regular html/css site using the FB iframe plugin. Here is an example page of our site using the plugin: http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/surety-bonds/commercial-bonds/auto_dealer_bond.htm

What type of website are you running? The Facebook Comment, is this running via a plugin or a custom api?

CPA for Facebook Advertising
I'm just wanting to find out more if I can set a CPA strategy for Facebook advertising and re-targeting. An acquisition for us would be when someone reaches our thank you page. This indicates a successful conversion on our site. Are we able to set a Facebook strategy where payment is only made for advertising upon reaching that page (and achieving that conversion)?

Facebook and SEO
Hello, recently we've noticed my companies Facebook page (www.facebook.com/dishcostsless) is not being crawled by Google. When you type in DISH Costs Less Facebook it does not show up, even when you type in the exact URL there are no search results. We used screaming frog to check out the back end of the page and there are no meta tags like there are on most FB pages. Also we noticed there were two re-directs; one from the http page to the https page, and the other directed the https page to the http page creating one giant cycle. We think this has something to do with the problem but not sure. Is there anyone who has had a similar issue, and how did you fix it? We'd love to be assured that the search engines are tracking our interactions on Facebook for SEO purposes.

Facebook guidlines for NPO
I've been trying to help a local chapter of a non-profit organisation set up a Facebook page (for free!) but the idea has been refused at the national level. I think from a lack of understanding of what good Facebook can do for their communication because even the page created for the whole NPO is very low on fans and hardly ever updated. I've got plenty of examples of NGOs doing well on Facebook. But what I'd love to find an example of an NGOs doing good work on Facebook through local chapters and (in my dreams) get my hands on guideline document that explains to local chapters how they should go about creating the page in accordance with the NGOs. Anyone out there have good examples ? Thanks Neil

Does creating a Facebook App help your social SEO factors?
We're looking to build out an event countdown widget for Facebook users to install as an App. Should we just focus on creating a useful app, or should we be trying to also optimise it for Likes, Comments, Shares etc. Having read the Searchmetrics 2012 report we're starting to ramp up our FB efforts...

Does the Facebook Share button still exist?
Hi everyone, I'm reading everywhere about the Facebook 'Share' being more powerful than the Facebook 'Like'. Just yesterday, there's a post on the SEOmoz blog about Facebook Shares http://www.seomoz.org/blog/plus-one-adoption-rates-and-social-sharing-statistics But I thought the Share button was replaced by the Like button? http://mashable.com/2011/02/27/facebook-like-button-takes-over-share-button-functionality/ All references to the Share button now point you to Facebook's Like button developer page. So if we want more SEO value, where can we get the Share button from? Or do we have to make do with the Like button from now on?

Widgets like Facebook Like and AddThis - Any Negative SEO?
I could go widget crazy with my website, there are so many cool buttons and linking this and likes and etc. There's one that is used a lot, called "Addthis" that adds a series of small icons to share a page via facebook, twitter, etc. The javascript looks innocent enough, but there's a link, and who knows what google makes of it. Then there are the dozen or so Facebook widgets - are they safe to use without negative SEO consequences? Does anyone know of any other pitfalls with using the numerous addons offered free to enhance your site? Thanks for any wisdom out there! Jean
