Does moving a site's files from one server to another, with all URL's remaining the same, affect page rank?
I am moving a site from one server to another. Everything will stay exactly the same, including URL's, file structure, etc.
Will this affect page rank, domain importance, etc?

It could slightly if, and only if the hosting service you're moving to is a poor service, with frequent downtimes, and bad/spammy websites on the same IP (If shared hosting). I would just make sure you use a reputable hosting company. But for all intents and purposes, SEO is more of a Site issue rather than where it's hosted. So you shouldn't see any effective drop in the SERPs.

Moving a site from one server to another should not affect your Page Rank as long as you keep everything (URLs, file structure, content, etc.) exactly the same.

Cache Not Working on Our Site
We redesigned our site (www.motivators.com) back in April. Ever since then, we can't view the cache. It loads as a blank, white page but the cache text is at the top saying: "This is Google's cache of http://www.motivators.com/. Site offline - Mitigating measures?
Hi, Our domain has expired, and it could take up to 48h to recover our website. Appart from the obvious image damage, It worries me Google will just think we have vanisheg Any recommendations? Maybe update something on WebMasterTools? Not having the domain, cannot even do any temporary redirect, etc... Thanks! Jaime

I just want to be sure, but if I install a Wordpress blog in a subfolder of a HTML site, Google will see that as one site, not two different sites, correct? Even if there is two index files?

How can you get the right site links for your site?
Hello all, I have been trying to get Google to list relevant site links for my site when you type in our brand name, Loco2 or for when Loco2 comes up in a search result. Different things come up when you search Loco2 and Loco 2. We would like site links to look like how they do when you search Loco 2. However Loco2 is our brand name, NOT Loco 2. Does anyone know why Google is doing this and whether we can influence results? We have done as much as possible via Google webmaster, in terms of specifying the links we DO NOT want Google to list for Loco2. However, when you search "Loco2", results only show simple site links. Ideally what we want is: Loco2 to be recognised as the brand NOT Loco 2 The same results (substantial, identical) for Loco2 as for Loco 2 (think o2 and o 2) For the site links to reflect the main pages of our site (Times & Tickets, Engine Room forum etc.) Many thanks in advance! Merging several sites into one - best practice
I had 2 sites on the web (www.physicseditor.de, www.texutrepacker.com) and decided to move them all under one single domain (www.codeandweb.com) Both sites were ranking very good for several keywords. I not redirected the most important pages from the old domains with a 301 redirect to the new subpages (www.texturepacker.com => www.codeandweb.com/texturepacker) Google still delivers the old domains but the redirect take people directly to the new content. I've already submitted the new site map to google webmaster tools. Pages are already in the index but do not really show up in the search results. How long does it take until google accepts the new domain and delivers the new content in the search results? Was it ok what I did? Or is there some room for improvement? SeoMoz will of course not find any information about the new page since it is not yet directly linked in google. But I can't get ranking information for the "old" pages since SeoMoz tells me that it can't crawl the old domains....

How to find all the links to my site
hi i have been trying to find all the links that i have to my site http://www.clairehegarty.co.uk but i am not having any luck. I have used the open explorer but it is not showing all the links but when i go to my google webmaster page it shows me more pages than it does on the semoz tool. can anyone help me sort this out and find out exactly what links are going into my site many thanks

Moved to a New Server IP Address
Hi, I just upgraded everything, a much faster server. I have significantly improved page load times. I have 2 questions 1. I also upgraded my blog which is a component of the site. I could NOT redirect post-for-post so made single 301 redirect from all pages from the old blog to the root of new blog. I did not care about the old blog, the posts are irrelevant now. Will the massive redirects be a problem? 2. I had some DNS issues and other problems that took me about 24 hours to fix during the transition. The site is up an fully operational. Will I be penalized? If so, how long Thank you,
