Yes, i did notice the missing "descriptive" title and description tag on the pages with incorrect grammar. I already send a note to the developer that he should change that.
It seams that there is to little text to work with for Google.

Yes, i did notice the missing "descriptive" title and description tag on the pages with incorrect grammar. I already send a note to the developer that he should change that.
It seams that there is to little text to work with for Google.
I did check the sourcecode and the text is actualy not on the page. So there must be an other way Google finds the text.
Hello fellow marketers,
I have found this weird thing with our website in the organic results. The sitelinks in the SERP shows wrong written text. As in grammatically incorrect text.
My question is where does Google get the text from? It is not the page title as we can see it.
Hi Peter,
The generated html sitemap is generated once a day. So most of the time it is up to date. Even though it does generate some 404's when products from the webshop are removed earlier in the day.
I will advice the webmaster to look for an XML sitemap generator for magento.
Thanks Peter for your attention and advice.
Much appreciated
Auke
Thanks Peter,
Do you have tested this, or have experience with different types of sitemaps?
Anybody else any experience with this?
I have a client with a large sitemap in html for his web shop. I am wondering though if i would be better to have a xml sitemap for Google.
Is there any advantage in type of sitemap?
Thanks Jon,
I have send an email to the guys. Hope it gets solved soon.
I am somewhat disappointed about the Branded Reports. I see now that in the pricing plans it states "Coming Soon" but when I signed up this was one of the items i Thought I would get for my $249,-
Thanks Claudio and Jon for your answers,
John could you tell me where exactly i could find this "back to PRO" link. Heaving a hard time finding this link.
the issue is actually with all my campaigns. I do not get the competition rankings and it states "not in top 50".
This is one of my campaigns witch I know the competition is ranking for several keywords (even a keyword of witch is in the domain of the competition: http://analytics.moz.com/search/keyword-rankings/239413.121281
Thanks for the Help Jon!
I have also trouble in reaching moz help. I am a new user and get a bit disappointed with the help and support.
I agree, rank checking is only one metric you need to follow in order to know if your on track in reaching your goals. You should also track the website goals and business goals you achieve with your organic search results. Your goal should never be first rank but optimized ROI from organic search.
So rank checking is only the first layer you need to keep track off.
I have found several issues with Moz Analytics. Wondering if it is only me or am I missing something...
1. I am not able to create branded reports or reports what so ever. I need this functionality like it is advertised.
2. In Search competition is not working at all. it states "not in top 50" for all keywords witch is not true.
3. In Crawl diagnostics I get this "Rel Canonical" issue even though the rel canonical tag is in the website.
I have send a mail to support but no answer until today. Earlier I did receive a answer on my questions so i guess there is one way of sending questions to the moz team witch is not working.
I agree with all above.
Think goals with every page of your website. For whom (target) is the page and what do you want them to do (goal) on your page. Lots of potential customers late in the sales funel (1) do already know what they want and what it is. Others need more explaining and need te be informed more (2).
Needs to know only what the benefit is working with you and need to fill in a telephone number so you can call them and close the deal
Need more information and want to be informed more (do not drown them though). You could offer them to download an whitepaper for instance.
Alright, now I understand the question. You want to show the title in the SERP.
Sorry for not understanding Christopher and let my answers frustrate you!
The answer from Mike is correct. If your titles are realy short and none descriptive Google can re-write titles.
Thanks Richard,
Indeed, there are lots of strategy's who are more legit and a great content strategy is what I am counting on. I will dive deeper in the competitor. Thanks for the "browse SEO" link.
What other tools are you all using in order to understand the competitor strategy?
The pages seem ok though.
The homepage has the title "Forum list, forum sites list, list forum"
Like you have set in http://imgur.com/atj3AS4
Last weekend you changed your hosting provider and IP addresses. It is now monday, a drop in the SERP is not likely noticed within 1/2 days. Seems to me not the issue.
Penguin update should have a notible effect way earlier than last weekend. So when did the drop in the SERP occurred?
Checked out your website. It seems that you have already fixed the issue?!
Thanks Tom,
That is completely my idea and why at this point i was reluctant to use this strategy. I get lots of emails from websites who want to trade links on such webpages filled with hundreds of links.
Still the new competitor (and others) use these strategies and I wanted to make sure my understanding of this strategy and not using it is correct.
How could i get an even beter understanding wy this competitor is out ranking me on certain keywords?
Hello Mozzers,
I am wondering about the effect of link building by swapping links between websites and adding a link partner page to the web shop containing hundreds of links.
I have this new competitor coming in to the SERP of Google competing on the keywords I am targeting. The competitor has way more links than our web shop.
The competitor has a page with hundreds of links to other web shops witch on there turn has a link to there web shop. (not all off them link back btw)
I always thought it is no use sharing links with other websites this way in creating a huge page with hundreds of links. it is of no benefit for neighter website to do this.
Still it does seems to work (?) and tis strategy is used by a lot of web shops in the Netherlands.
How are you guys looking at this?
Witch of you guy's are using strategy like this?
Should I pick up this strategy myself?
