Just a word to the wise from the not as wise....is it possible that there is a slower time of year for a divorce lawyer? I would certainly aim the transition for a slower time if possible. If you do it all perfectly, you may not take a hit. But, I don't know about you...but I'm not perfect.

Do you mean what Moz products should you subscribe to? Is this actually a product question?

How should I treat these Destination Wedding Pages?
Happy Friday and St. Patrick's Day Eve, Moz Community!
As I got on here to ask this question, I saw my previous questions and remembered how awesome this community is. I also can't wait until Mozcon, but I digress.
Anyway. We are a travel agency. One of my websites is to support the Destination Wedding part of our business. Each of the weddings gets their own page where we list information about the event as well as a guest list of who all has booked to attend the wedding. After the wedding, the page is automatically unpublished. This leads to a TON of 404s on all of the past wedding pages. Also, even the current pages I don't feel add a lot of SEO value to the site.
So. What is the wisdom on how I should handle these pages. I'm assuming I should no index them? Also, does anyone have a compelling reason I should keep the pages active for some reason? Just move them to a different section or something? (I'm really thinking not on this...but I'm open to discussion.)
Thank you times one million in advance.

RE: Moving from www.domain.com/nameofblog to www.domain.com/blog
Well, it sounds like it may not be worth the brain damage to make the change. Is that what I'm hearing?
If that's the case, I'm good with that!

Moving from www.domain.com/nameofblog to www.domain.com/blog
Describe your question in detail. The more information you give, the better! It helps give context for a great answer
I have had my blog located at www.legacytravel.com/ramblings for a while. I now believe that, from an SEO perspective, it would be preferable to move it to www.legacytravel.com/blog.
So, I want to be able to not lose any links (few though they may be) with the move. I believe I would need to do a 301 redirect in the htaccess file of www.legacytravel.com that will tell anyone who comes knocking on the door of www.legacytravel.com/ramblings/blah blah blah that now what they want is at www.legacytravel.com/blog/blah blah blah
-
Is that correct?
-
What would the entry look like in the htaccess?
Thank you in advance.

RE: Can someone interpret this entry in my htaccess file into english so that I can understand?
Hello, my old htaccess buddy!
Let's say, perhaps, that a person wanted to change her main company blog from www.legacytravel.com/ramblings to www.legacytravel.com/blog.
Of course, all of the traffic would need to be re-directed. the htaccess currently says:
BEGIN WordPress
<ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /ramblings/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /ramblings/index.php [L]</ifmodule>END WordPress
Would it be appropriate / effective to add something there that directs everything in light of the renaming of that subfolder?
Again, thank you in advance.

RE: Why can't anyone check in on my Facebook Page?
Hmmmm, I'm not aware of an update that we haven't done. We did change our address, but this problem started MONTHS before we moved.
I edited the original question to include the url. It is https://www.facebook.com/LegacyTravel
Sorry, I should have included it to start with!

Why can't anyone check in on my Facebook Page?
Once upon a time, we were able to check in at our office on Facebook. Then, one day, we just...couldn't.
I didn't (at least intentionally) change any settings on the page. I can't seem to even find a setting for this. What happened, and how do I fix it?
Thank you so much in advance.
(Edited to include the Facebook URL) https://www.facebook.com/LegacyTravel

RE: Adding videos to a website
I agree. Option #1. And, maybe on your video page you could have links to each of the videos rather than the videos themselves in order to eliminate the duplicate content issue.
I think #1 wins.

RE: Can someone interpret this entry in my htaccess file into english so that I can understand?
Alright, so if I take out all of the other nonsense...and just put this in...will that just make it go from legacytravel.com to www.legacytravel.com?
and that's that?
-
RE: Can someone interpret this entry in my htaccess file into english so that I can understand?
You got it.
Again, thank you so much for taking a look.

RE: Can someone interpret this entry in my htaccess file into english so that I can understand?
Alright...I just sent the whole redirect portion of the htaccess file to WilliamKammer.
Thank you so much, everyone, for your help.

Can someone interpret this entry in my htaccess file into english so that I can understand?
There are a number of entries in my htaccess and I'd like to understand what they are doing so that I can understand if they need to be there or not.
So, can someone tell me what this says...in plain english?
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^legacytravel.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.legacytravel.com$
RewriteRule ^carrollton-travel-agent$ "http://www.legacytravel.com/carrollton-travel-agent" [R=301,L]Thank you a million times in advance.
