Our main website is at  http://www.traxnyc.com and we just launched a Japanese version of the site at http://www.traxnyc.jp domain. However all the images used on the .jp site are linked from the .com site. Would this hurt me in Google at all for hotlinking images?

Also there is quite a bit of duplicate content on the .jp site at the moment: only a few things have been translated to Japanese and for the most part the layouts and words are exactly the same (in English). Would this hurt my Google rankings in the US at all?

For many years I've been working on seo/backlinks for my website. When doing analysis in opensiteexplorer I notice that the highest listed backlinks for my site are sites with high page authority and domain authority, rather than pagerank. For example one of the highest backlinks for my website has page authority/domain authority of 72/96 but the site itself is only a PR2, while my other backlinks have PR4, 5, or 6 with lower page authority.

For a while I've been trying to partner with websites for backlinks from high pagerank sites, as I've always believed this is the #1 metric in relaying link juice. But OSE's metrics seem to not follow that train of thought -- it believes page authority/domain authority is a more important measure. Is it? Should I change my strategy to try to partner with websites that have high page authority rather than focusing so much on pagerank?

How Google Analytics determine that some particular web site referred traffic if there is no back link on that site?

I am thinking that choice #1 would full fill it's duty, because all key words are there already, am I right?

Do you think getting old domain for the new website will do any difference? Lets say website A used to sell apples... went out of business after 5 years of business. If I would get that domain and will star selling apples again can I expect some extra boost because of the age?

Hi everyone so it's time for a refresh. I want to improve my rank for couple of terms on one page, so whats you recommend me. Currently I am thinking to go with option 1 and be as much specific to my main keyword, but at the same time I am not sure if I'll be able to link well for my 2nd keywords.

Option 1

Term 1, Term 2, Term 3 - they are more or less related

Tittle: Term 1 and Term 2 and Term 3

Keywords: term 1, term 2, term 3

Meta description: Term 1, la lalal mama term 2, ta da da lalaaas term 3

your are absolutely right and it's exactly what I thought. The only thing is better to do is instead of un-indexing them I'd rather set up canonical links for the tag pages if it's possible.

Should I let Google index tags? Positive? Negative

Right now Google index every page, including tags... looks like I am risking to get duplicate content errors? If thats true should I just block /tag in robots.txt

Also is it better to have as many pages indexed by google or it's should be as lees as possible and specific to the content as much as possible.

Try to look through consumer points of view. Try to offer something like "1st free maintenance", "Free 5 car washes" ... from my personal experience its really annoying when representatives start calling you, harassing you to make an anointment and so on.

Consumer getting smarter and they like to shop around and it takes some time to do so, so make them feel comfortable and they will return.

so what you saying content is a content... if it's good it ranks as it's deserves. Dosent matter how you present it.

So eCommerce website shouldn't be based on wordpress because it wont rank good in search engines in a long run term...

It looks for me that WordPress sites get to rank better for some reason ... I dont know wil you will agree with this one with me or not.

The question is... do they hold their rankings for the certain keyword with a time? or they lose them as fast as they get them?

I just ran https://www.majesticseo.com report for back links and showed me that I have one link at porn site ... not sure if it will be appropriate to post it here. The link was discovered on 03.05.11 and when I visited today link is not there... I dont know who put that link there.

First of all you are not going to get penalized by that!

You can make this pages nofollow in you robot.txt file. there is no reason for those pages to be indexed.
