Also, how I need to deal with redirects (301) I've created previously to the ssl migration?

Do I need to update the redirects with ssl or do i have to create new redirects?

HI Guys,

do you think that the following guide is enoght to move a bluehost wordpress site to https in a seo best practive way?

Basically their steps are:

1. Install SSL on Bluehost panel

2. Install Really Simple SSL Wp Plugin

3. Edit Your .htacess File & Add The Code For HTTP To HTTPS Redirection

4. Update All HTTP URLs In Database To HTTPS Using Search and Replace Plugin

5. Use Broken Link Checker plugin & use its redirection module to find links to 3rd party sites with HTTP that should now be HTTPS.

6. Last thing to do

   • Submit your new HTTPS site to Google Search Console & submit your sitemap.
   • Update your profile link on Google Analytics.
   • Update your website links on social media profiles & anywhere else they exist. This step you can do in pieces in the coming days.
   • Read this guide to learn more about HTTP to HTTPS migration & fixing mixed content.
   • If you disabled Who.Is guard for your domain name, you can enable it now.

Do you know a better practical guide for wordrpess? in term of usefull plugins to handle the migration?

ok side bar is on every page, so in this case it should matter, better prob to move important content on main body

i mean, is better to place content and links on main cotent than on wordpress widget bar?

I explain you in more details my site structure:

site.com/destinations - hub for all the destinations

site.com/destinations/tanzania - single destination page

site.com/tours/tanzania-tour-1 - single tour page

site.com/travel-category/cultural-tours - a second way tour are organized, for travel category.

So lets say i dont want to sell anymore the destination Tanzania and all his related tours. In the case i want to keep the ranking for the destination and tours i would need to 301 redirect the destination Tanzania to the more general page site.com/destinations and the site.com/tours/tanzania-tour-1 page to site.com/travel-category/cultural-tours since this is a cultural tour.

Does this make sense?

we need to cut out from the catalog some destinations for our tour operator, so basically we need to deal with destination pages and tour pages not present anymore on the site.

What do you think is the best approach to deal with this pages to not loose ranking?

Do you think is a good approach to redirect with 301's these pages to the home page or to the general catalog page or do you suggest another approach?

what about image result in google?

If i change image, the old image will still appear in image google research and it will link to my page or does it will generate a 404 erorr when i try to click to the associated page (since now is not anymore in that page)?

I have two reasons to change some images of a page on a wordpress site:

1.Google speed service advise me to optmize the images size to better spead load times.

2.I want to change images titles (to improve seo optimization for the page keyword), so i need to replace them, since im using wordpress.

Now the question is:

Can i just change the images without worring about any related seo issues? Or should i follow some best practice to change images in order to not affect the ranking of the page?
