I agree that Thomasnet is a waste of money... I haven't seen any increases in organic positions with clients that paid to have the Thomasnet listing

RE: 400$ to sponsoring an Event page, does it worth the money?
I completely agree that the evaluation of the link should look at increasing your visibility in the niche, and gaining more visits that may turn into conversions.

RE: Responsive design to serve different page for IE8 - SEO Implications?
I would go with the separate CSS for IE8 visitors. I agree that many WILL NOT download or even update their browser.

RE: Blog posts to G+ and FB?
I would send links from your social media accounts to your blog. There is no need to post the entire article on your Facebook. A quick teaser description followed by the link to your blog is all you need!

RE: Why would my domain authority drop 2 points ?and how can i bring my domain authority back up?'.
Spot on Doug!! The Domain Authority will fluctuate a bit each time the site is index. To increase domain authority, you need good quality links pointing to your site. Rand had a great post about building "assets".

RE: Critical Page Problems.
I agree that the critical indicates the importance of the factor and that the green check mark indicates the line item's completion.

RE: Semantic Keywords Research
Review the suggested searches as you type your query The moz.com/improve-rankings-with-semantic-research blog post is also VERY helpful in Semantic SEO.

RE: Should ebook content be a download or hosted on site for SEO?
Using option B allows you to gather info on them before the receive access to ebook. However, if you were to block access to the page, option c would work to still gather user info. You can also track the pdf's off the landing page but this allows the user to have a local copy and 'share' your content without registering their information.
I would personally recommend option C as long as it's a hidden or protected page.

RE: Backlink Audit
Only if notified of unnatural links would I file a reconsideration request. Focus on building more links and creating new content.

RE: Can i know trough Google analytics the most busy time in the day ?
it maybe easier to read if you make a custom report as a flat table with the Hour as dimension and visits as the metric...

RE: What happend to Advanced Segments?
Totally agree! What's nice is that they have several "pre-built" segments you can easily select by drag and dropping. I wish Google would stop making constant changes to their products.
-
RE: What happend to Advanced Segments?
There is a down arrow below the Email | Export menu for each report pane!

RE: Domain Moztrust
It is possible that the links were created a while back and just recently discovered by Google.
-
RE: Re-naming pages without affecting SEO
Totally agree that the plan is a good move! Keep the URLs short and sweet. 301's will pass along any linkjuice and forward visitors to the new URLs.

RE: Site as one page - SEO implications
I'd suggest to create several landing pages that are optimized for particular keywords, this way each page has a real focus.

RE: I want your opinion?
I'm with number 1 also. The less information required, the better

RE: Wanted to shift a blog from sub domain to sub directory but...
I agree with both Mayank and Marcus above. To do this, the site and the blog need to be on the same server. The DNS record can only point to a domain / sub domain... not sub directories (folders).

RE: How to Remove a website from your Bing Webmaster Tools account
Once on the Dashboard, select the check box for the corresponding site and select the delete button from the top menu. See Bing's help center -> http://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/my-sites-05a5a164

RE: H2's vs Meta description
Google determines what to display as the text may be more relevant to the search query compared to your meta description tag.

RE: Looking for an e-commerce CMS that can deal properly with facets and filters
If I understand correctly, by adding multiple categories to each product, you should get the search functionality your looking for. Both systems allow the products to be tagged with multiple categories. I'm sorry that I'm not terribly familiar with the technical side of either system, but both are easy to use and all the products (and variations) seem to be indexed by search spiders.
Definitely check them out!

RE: White hat techniques for difficult niches
Yikes... an online gambling site! I'd try to focus on social media link building as much as possible. The guest blogs are going to be very difficult given the subject matter. Build out the social profiles and generate content to share on the networks.

RE: Looking for an e-commerce CMS that can deal properly with facets and filters
Hey @Mihai,
I've only worked with a few eCommerce systems and found that the two most SEO friendly are:
- Fission system eCommerce - http://www.360psg.com/fission-commerce
- WordPress eCommerce Plugin - http://getshopped.org/wordpress-commerce
Both systems are very customizable but neither are FREE solutions. When it comes to an eCommerce system, I feel your better off using a paid service with tech support. I hope these systems meet your needs!

RE: Google Analytics: Do 'Goals' actually work?
can you private message me the site's URL or the thank you URL? I'm a little lost. You have + 80 forms pointing to the same "thank you" or confirmation page?
-
RE: Google Analytics: Do 'Goals' actually work?
Instead of using Reg Ex, can you set the goal using the head match instead? My understanding is that the head match will consider all url's that begin with the /thank-you. Google Analytics is constantly making updates to their interface, it appears the match type is now call "Begins with" instead of head match.
I tried to attach a cropped screen shot

RE: Best Way to Replace Lost Links
I have to agree with @CleverPhD. The lower quality links will do more harm than good for your site in light of new algro updates. Instead of trying to build a rapid 1300 links, look to build fewer but HIGH QUALITY links back to your site. Personally, I see that social networks seem to be carrying a lot of weight so perhaps creation of a graphic and sharing it across your social media networks will provide more worth.

RE: Moz Netiquette
I too have received several spammy 'private messages' to my MOZ account. I sent a message to MOZ support concerning these users spamming members. I was told that reported accounts would be deleted.

John
I'm pretty sure the Moz crawler does not consider the rel="prev" nor "next" commands. Def check out the post provided by pikka.

RE: Facebook and SEO
Hey Kevin,
I can confirm that the page does pull up in the Facebook directory but when doing a URL search in Google, the page still does not pull up! There are no Country nor Age Restrictions on the page.
It appears that DishCostsLess is not the 'name' on neither the Facebook nor your Google +. Perhaps changing the name to "DISH TV by DishCostsLess" would help.

RE: Review my website and guide me what can do for top ranking.
Get back to basics! I love the fact that onsite SEO tactics are still as important as they are!! Social engagement is another biggie! Use Facebook, twitter, Google + & YouTube to spread content.

RE: Whats the best way to revive a directory that was 301'd and now I want to remove that?
I agree with @Jimmy. Remove the 301's, ensure internal and some external links point to the new URLs and update the XML sitemap. As for the browsers saving the 301s, here what I found:
- IE7, IE8, Android 2.3.4 do not cache at all.
- Firefox 18.0.2, Safari 5.1.7 (on Windows 7), and Opera 12.14 all cache, and clear the cache on browser restart.
- IE10 and Chrome 25 cache, but do not clear on browser restart
There was a write up about redirecting 301's using 302 but I recommend using the above method instead... http://goo.gl/Z1uEr

RE: Infographic stolen Whats my best course of action?
I see that a comment was left on the knockoff graphic at http://visual.ly/us-2013-diamond-jewelry-trend. I agree with @Antony Wilson that you could offer the original version in return for a link back!

RE: SEO value of WP e-Commerce Plugin
I run a couple of projects using the WP e-Commerce Plugin. It took some customization to get it exactly the way I wanted but find it very useful! I had to rewrite the XML feed for Google Merchant, tweak the gateway and installed several additional Plugins (including the Yoast SEO) but love the e-Commerce functionality.
I definitely recommend giving the WP e-Commerce Plugin a try!

RE: Conversion Report in Adwords
I prefer using Google Analytics over Adwords for custom reports as GA allows you to dig into the metric far more. If your set on using Adwords for Conversion tracking... check out Custom Reports here -> create custom reports in Adwords

RE: My Campaign only crawled 3 pages on my site
There could be an issue with the crawler and the javascript. Running the PageSpeed Analysis, there were a few flags for JavaScript. I have a screen shot of the overview.

RE: Simple Question Regarding Keyword Landing Page
I agree with Matt,
Create 3 independent pages and be certain all your onsite elements are in order. I recommend pushing links to each of these pages from several different medias (blogs, articles, social networks, etc.). As mentioned above, EXPOSURE is key!
