RE: Has anybody else noticed that Google has made a significant change to their SERP? There is a lot of social data reported from LinkedIn, Youtube and Facebook (includes page likes and activity) when you search by company name. Thoughts anybody?

I'm not sure if this is a new change; I have seen this for some time now. See the likes, talking about his and were here information is new to me. For me, I first get facebook, then linkedin, youtube and twitter. This is great when you are protecting your business brand / reputation management.

RE: Open site explorer not working this morning, anyone else have that problem?
Just tested it and it's working for me. The Rank Tracker has not been working for me for about three days; I tried the Keyword Analysis tool today and it did not work.

RE: Should Your Keep Out Of Stock Item Active On Your Site ?
I would keep the sold out items on my site and have a "we also recommend" section below the item in the inner page to show the client that you have items similar to the one that is sold out. I wouldn't add a sold out image; instead, I would code it so if an item is sold out, then the purchase button is replaced by a sold out button/image. Depending on the products that you carry, some of your sold out items may carry weight within SEO and may show up for relevant keyword searches; you don't want to lose that.

RE: Twitter campaign - need some feedback
Hi Dan,
First, I would follow the brands that you carry and the people that carry those brands. Then I would create a custom coupon just for the twitter followers (10% off your next purchase for following us on twitter). Once you start gaining more followers I would do the follow message that you have and put it on your homepage of the website, on your twitter account and on facebook. I would leave the competition down to a certain amount of people and I would say whomever gets retweeted the most wins a $$$ giftcard to our store (you can also do this on facebook - we recently did it for a client on facebook and they gained 1000 followers in two days and it's still growing).
Hope this helps!

RE: Should H1s be used in the logo? If they are and it is dynamic on each page to relate to the page content, is this detrimental to the site rather than having it in the page content?
Brian,
I agree with everyone else. H1 should be used for the main heading of each page. H2 should be used for a subheading. H1's, H2''s, H3's, etc are used for the sizing and coloring of the content. As far as search engines go; it's helpful to let it know what the main subject of that page is. Hope this helps!

RE: A Blogs appearance
Garry,
Personally I let the client decide what type of design they want for their blog; but I always make sure that there is a way to navigate from the blog to the site and from the site to the blog. To me, blogs should be about that clients personality and it should be inviting. I hope this helps!

RE: Google Places and Multiple Locations
Caneja,
Each location should have it's own phone number and address. From past experience with multiple clients, which have all been penalized due to using the same number; I have found that Google will try to merge listings that have the same address or phone number and that they simply don't like it when multiple locations use the same address and/or phone number. Tell your client that they need to get two new phone numbers and they can have those numbers forward to one main number. I hope this helps!

RE: My site traffic has dropped
Hi Diane,
Take a look at your Google Analytics and take a look at where you used to received your incoming traffic and compare it to now to determine where it has dropped. Your referring sites may have removed you or maybe you were running ad campaigns that are no longer live? You just need to see where you used to get incoming traffic from and go from there. I hope this helps!

RE: Use of + in url good or bad?
I agree with everyone here, go with "-". Take a day and rewrite all of your urls that are not using "-". Any other symbol usage can be problematic.

RE: Incentivisation Strategies for Social Sharing of Product Pages
Have you heard about infusionsoft? I personally haven't used them, but my chiropractor uses them and he loves them. He says that they track everything in your email and they track it by person; unlike other email marketing software programs. That's the only way that I can think of when you are tracking it by email. They also have filters; if a person does not share your facebook link, they will send them a second email that is more appealing. Hopefully this helps you out a little.

RE: Google Places not appearing
Austin,
Google will delete listings and "sandbox" you if you break their Google places rules and regulations. From looking at your listing, I can only pin-point a couple of things that Google may not like. First, in you categories you have "Palm Harbor Weight Loss" - you should not have a city of state in any of your categories. Also, make sure that you only have one category per category slot. Make sure that your images are the right size, usually under 120 width will work. On your website, I would add the name of the company (Medi-Weightloss Clinics) just as it reads on Google Maps on top of your address on the top right in locations. I would embed the Google Map into the locations page. I also would add more categories, you currently only have three. Hope this helps.

RE: Google Places optimisation for service franchise, 150 franchisees with no physical addresses?
If the business does not have a physical location (150 different physical locations); then it should not have a google place page. Google is extremely smart when it comes to having a business that has no physical location and is using a po box or a home address. Every location should have its own phone number as well as its own address. You should just tell your client that there is no way getting around it.
Armando Martinez - President
Armando Martinez is the founder, President and owner of SEO Expert Marketing. His experience in the Internet Marketing field dates back to 2005 when he started his career working for a startup company based in Palm Beach, FL.
Armando started his internet marketing career by managing $50,000 of monthly Google AdWords advertising spend. His cost per conversion back then was at $8. Armando was eventually recruited and hired by AT&T to work in the search engine marketing team for Yellowpages.com. He was part of an 11 person team selected out of 10,000 applicants.
Armando quickly stood out from his colleagues and at the young age of 23 he was selected to personally train and educate the CEO and board of AT&T on search engine marketing and the future of advertising. He impressed the team so much, that the AT&T executives asked Armando to travel the country to train all of the Yellow Pages employees and sales teams. At the time that Armando arrived at AT&T SEM revenues were less than $100k yearly. As of his departure from AT&T the company's revenues from search engine marketing have grown to surpass the $100 million yearly.
Armando holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Florida. In late 2008, he decided to give up a 6 digit salary at AT&T and invest the money that he had saved into the SEO company that is now SEO Expert Marketing. Over the years Armando has spoken at numerous industry events and has held multiple seminars. In 2009 he elected to discontinue speaking arrangements as he did not want to brand himself, instead he has decided to brand the company.
Armando has been optimizing websites since 2006, he optimized some of AT&T's most prominent web properties and has worked hand in hand with some very well known companies. Some of the more recognized work that he has done include advising companies like Date.com, and project managed numerous high traffic websites including a handful of PR News Wire's portals. He has implemented on page SEO campaigns for companies like Carrier air and the city of Miami Beach. To date Armando is very hands on and continues to optimize some of our clients websites and oversees our SEO team.
Armando will be in charge of developing an on page and off page SEO strategy for Caesar's. He will also be in charge of training all the Caesar's web team on basic and advance search engine optimization strategies.
