RE: Domain/page authority - how long does it take so see results ?
The Page and Domain authority calculations are updated when Linkscape is update. Usually that's on a monthly basis, but it's been two months since the last update. The next update will be later this week, and you should see some metrics change then.

RE: Amount of Pages Crawled Dropped Significantly
Hi! This is probably a question for the help desk team. If you send them an email at help@seomoz.org and let them know your campaign name, they'll take a look at it and help you figure out what happened.

RE: I am not a SEO expert , need a gentleman to help me
With your SEOmoz membership, you can ask one question a month in private Q&A, and get it answered by an SEOmoz Staff or SEOmoz associate -- the questions are not indexed, are private, and everyone is under an NDA to not disclose the contents of the question.
When you ask a question, look at the bottom of the submission form and there is an option to ask it as a private question.

RE: One of my Campaigns have a problems!
We did have an issue where some campaigns were only getting one page crawled. Alan gives some good advice here. I'd also email help@seomoz.org and ask them to take a look.

RE: Is this a new type of rich snippet?
Check out Search Engine Roundtable -- they have a tag devoted just to sitelinks and all the weird ways in which they appear. http://www.seroundtable.com/tag/google-sitelinks

RE: Anyone know how long it takes Google to Index new site?
Sofia,
What about some content related to unusual uses for cargo containers?
Another idea might be using a cargo container for a personal/business move. If you were in the US, we'd be wanting to talk to you right now! My husband and I are moving from California to Seattle, and he's interested in seeing if we can get a used cargo container, load our stuff into it, then have it dropped off in a driveway or a side yard of a place in Seattle. Some content around that would be interesting, and with how it differs from a regular move (such as needing to worry about the container being titled to put it on the truck), etc.

RE: Spell Check Bot / Crawler
CheckDog will do 100 pages of spell checking for free http://checkdog.com/.Don't know of any place that does grammar checking. I wonder if there are any mechanical turk third party providers that do that?
In my case, I run a forum with thousands of pages of user generated content. I can't afford the spell checking services for that amount of content, and I'm OK with leaving things in the user's original voice. What I did do was go into Google Analytics and export my top content by page title, 500 titles at a time. I copied and pasted the spreadsheet column with the titles into Word, and found the spelling errors in the titles of the posts. I went back and corrected those.

RE: What is the best way to consolidate two websites into one?
Wow, that reminds me of the time developers told me Matt Cutts was wrong, that I should not redirect non-www to www, that any redirects were bad for search engines, and the more pages in the search engine the better, and wondered why my real issue with my support request was.
I'd push for the 301s, and I'm also interested to hear what others have to say.

RE: I only have 65 extrernal links after 8 months of link building?
Linkscape is limited, and right now a couple of months behind. We'll be releasing a new index sometime next week, and you should see some changes then.

RE: Competitive Domain Analysis: Domain Metrics value 1
Hi! The answer to this is to wait a little bit until the next linkscape update is out, and Open Site Explorer updates with fresh information. The last crawl was done before your site existed, which is why nothing is shown. Linkscape and Open Site Explorer don't have quite the same computing power of Google, so they lag behind a bit.

RE: Would using SE.NukeX or M. Submitter Hurt My Rankings Or Help?
In my opinion, the easiest way to clean up low-quality links is to not make them in the first place. I would avoid anything like this.
-
RE: Blog comments good for SEO
I can tell you that the impact from some high-quality blogs will be to delete your comment if you're using your keywords as your name. There was recently an entire post on this at http://ariherzog.com/and-blog-comment-spam-continues/
-
RE: My competitive link analysis hasn't been updated in nearly 2 months, why?
We are all in the same situation right now. The Linkscape update has been delayed, which has affected teh competitive link analysis. We wrote a blog post on it at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained.

RE: Why has only one page been crawled?
We are currently having an issue where some campaigns are only getting a couple of pages crawled. If you send a note to help@seomoz.org we'll look into it via the help desk. Thanks!

RE: 3 pages crawled?
We're having an issue where the number of crawled pages in some campaigns has dramatically dropped. Can you send an email to help@seomoz.org and we'll look into it via the help desk? Thanks, and sorry about this!

RE: Did anyone else see "Rel Canonical" drop to zero after their latest SEOmoz crawl?
We are seeing some campaigns drop down to crawling just one page. Emailing help@seomoz.org and getting in touch with the help team is the best thing at this point. So sorry for the rude awakening on a Monday morning!

RE: LinkedIn SEO boost?
I created a company page for our business and it didn't cost anything. I'm not seeing anything about a cost on their company page overview at http://learn.linkedin.com/company-pages/, either.

The link building category of the SEOmoz blog is also helpful.

RE: My domain has a * next to it i my dashboard what does this mean?
If you have any subdomains, such as wiki.my-debt.co.uk you'll see that data as well. If you don't have any subdomains, it'll be just like you had the www.

RE: No results with Link Analysis
Hi Todd,
The metrics you're seeing are from February. OSE is usually updated monthly, but we had technical problems and it's been seven weeks since the last update. There's a new update due on April 27th, and you should see some changes then.
-
RE: Where do you go to get a question answered by seomoz?
Hi Karen,
I'm one of the associates here at SEOmoz. We look at the public questions that come in and respond, endorse, and add information as needed. You tend to get more answers this way, and responses more quickly. To guarantee a response from a staff member or associate, you can ask a private question. With a private question, it may take a few days to get a response, but it will get answered by a staff or associate.

RE: SEO MOZ Timezone
Hi!
I'm going to send this one to the help team so they can chime in with some more information. I believe some users may have had a delay in their keyword rankings report -- if so, that would account for the weird date information.
We're based in Seattle, so most of our dates are based in the Pacific time zone.

RE: Other Good SEO Forums Besides SEOMoz
I think Charles is referring to Q&A, which operates more like a forum.

RE: Bounce rate consistently dropping
Just to be on the safe side, I'd also check to see if there were any changes made to pages between December and January -- is there a section of the site that has GA code installed twice and you're getting no bounce rate for part of the site? Or some other element or GA configuration that is causing something else to load? That drop is fairly dramatic between December and January.
I discovered I had a custom GA script on my site and had left the Wordpress GA plugin active, so I had GA twice on my site and had about a 1% bounce rate. 12.35% is an awesome low bounce rate, but I'd poke around a little bit in my analytics and see if I can find particular pages or sections with a less than 1% bounce rate that might indicate an installation or code issue.
-
RE: How does the timeline look for the next Competitive Link Analysis? Thanks!
There's an update scheduled for next week, on April 27th. The calendar is available at http://www.seomoz.org/q/browse?sort=11&visibility=0.

RE: What are Branded Keywords
Sometimes it's helpful to segment branded vs non-branded. I sell model warships that shoot and sink each other (a fairly small niche), and my company name is Strike Models (and was formerly a company called Swampworks).
If someone comes to me by searching Strike Models or Swampworks, they already know about me, and just want to find my site. I also rank high for these terms since it is my brand. If they search model battleships, then I have more of a feeling of accomplishment -- I've got a ton more competitors out there for that term, and here is someone who hasn't heard of my before that is a new potential customer.

RE: SEOMoz Crawling Only 1 Page
Hi! The help team has written a post about the most common reasons this happens. Check it out at http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/409821-why-isn-t-my-site-being-crawled-you-only-crawled-one-page and if that doesn't solve your problem, send them an email at help@seomoz.org and they'll help you figure it out. Thanks!

RE: Is anybody else having problems with Open Site Explorer downloads
We have had a known issue with the CSV export that we're working on resolving. I'll have the help desk chime in here when they get in in the morning. So sorry about the troubles!

RE: Custom 404 Page Indexing
Have you checked the response code of your custom 404 page and made sure that it's returning a 404 and not a 200?
-
RE: Last Linkscape index update: 02/28/2012
Yes, it is unfortunately true. Thanks Maximise for including those links. We're all anxious for the next update here too!

RE: Can anyone recommend software for recording phone calls through Adwords?
Geoff, in what country are you looking to track? That can affect what options are available.
-
RE: Google: site gone from SERPs, back in 1 day, then gone again?
No, it's Google has work to do, they admitted it was their fault and something went wrong in their classifier.
-
RE: How to handle web server downtime?
We had an excellent post about that from a YouMoz author in January. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-handle-downtime-during-site-maintenance should tell you everything you need to know!
-
RE: Google: site gone from SERPs, back in 1 day, then gone again?
It might actually have been Google's fault this time. They misclassified some sites as parked domains and they dropped out of the index. See the Search Engine Land post at http://searchengineland.com/dropped-in-rankings-google-mistake-over-parked-domains-118979.

RE: Obtaining External Links
There isn't necessarily one best way of obtaining external links. Have you checked out the link building category of the SEOmoz blog? That would be a good start to get some ideas.

RE: How can i get seomoz to crawl a campaign on demand
You can do an on-demand crawl for up to 3000 URLs at http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test.
-
RE: How can I add an additional user
It's just one user right now, but we know many people want this option and it's on our wishlist. You can see the help desk response to this question at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20199538-is-there-a-way-i-could-add-another-user-to-access-my-pro-account

RE: Difficult Boss: Does anyone know of a SEO quick reference?
I'd love to know of this type of resource. I can only think of a couple of examples in lay terms to help explain specific points.
To help illustrate that what happens off the page does have an impact, ask your boss to search for "click here" and "click here to exit" to show the power of anchor text.
If you need to work on URL structure and have to fight for time with devs to get proper canonicalization, say that Google isn't as smart as the post office. The post office can figure out that "123 Main Street South" "123 Main St S" "123 Main St" etc are all the same place, but Google thinks each of those are a different place and splits up authority among those different places.

RE: SEO for standard website pages
The about and contact pages could be good for reputation management. Write about your staff, and you have one more positive result for their name in a SERP.
-
RE: Are there any tools that will detect when new pages are added?
Are you running a content management system like Wordpress? There may be some plugins there that can help tell you. Otherwise, I'm not sure. I'd try possibly a Google Alert for the query site:yourdomainname.com and see if that turns up anything.
-
RE: Domain Name search in google not appearing
I'd verify your site in Google and Bing webmaster tools and see if there are any messages there.
I'd also look and take serious stock of your content. I see other sites having the same content -- I don't know who the original source is, but I wasn't able to find any content that was unique to just your site.
