Hi! I'm following up on older, unanswered questions. Did you ever find something that did what you wanted to do for tracking the metrics?

If you look at Rand's latest White Board Friday, you'll see his opinion on article submissions for link building at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/article-marketing-mostly-a-scam-whiteboard-friday (hint: it's not real positive). I agree with Dejan SEO that there are better methods of link building, and don't spend a whole lot of time on this method.

Ryan, I presume you didn't mean to include a space between internships and abroad, and that the primary recommendation should read mysite.com/internships-abroad/china?

I'd go into Google Webmaster Tools and their parameter settings and tell them to ignore this parameter.

I would need to look up the exact syntax, but Google does accept some dynamic exclusions and parameters in robots.txt, and you may be able to put that into robots and then use the URL removal tools.

I agree with James here. Especially if you have anchor text in the link, people aren't going to see that URL as much. While it's not the best URL, I've certainly seen worse.

Your URL structure is affecting Google News. There is information here about the URL structure requirements, which can be waived if you use a Google News sitemap. http://www.google.com/support/news_pub/bin/answer.py?answer=151309.

I don't know of any way to see the number of pages indexed historically, unfortunately.

Could you please email help@seomoz.org with that, and let them know how long it's been going on? They'll let you know what normal behavior is supposed to be for that. Thanks!
