Another company in a similar situation (and maybe this is the company in question) is Dreyer's/Edy's. In case it's not your company, you can look and see if you can gain any insights into how they do their social media. Their websites look to be identical in code, and I don't see any canonical tags. I haven't examined how they have done their social media, but it's a thought of another place to look.

Google Images now has an option where you can upload a photo or point to a photo's URL and it will act like TinEye and do a search for that image. I haven't compared the two services with the same image so I can't speak for if one is more complete, but it is something else to try.

It is a long holiday weekend, but there's a chance you may get a response from them on the weekend (I once had their accounting department respond to a question about my invoice to them on a Sunday!), and you'll certainly get an answer when the workweek starts again.
Q&A is a little slow on the weekends, and really slow this Labor Day weekend, so it's taking a little longer to get responses than it might at other times. Hang in there, and I'm sure you'll get some comments. If not, ask the question again in a couple of weeks, in the middle of the week (and leave me a note on here and I'll delete this copy of the question).
I'm seeing the same thing when I look. In some cases, the article says "originally published on site xyz". A side note, it's not OK to republish copyrighted material in its entirety like that, even if you do give credit to the source.
I also saw things like an article about electronic cigarettes in the medical breakthroughs section, and some pages with very little content with a lot of advertising and navigation.
To be the leader in the tech gadget niche, you need to be a leader and not a follower or copier. Give me a reason to go to your site and keep me coming back as opposed to another site. What's your unique selling proposition which makes you different from all of the other gadget sites out there?
I don't have experience with Joomla, and have just cursed over a website in Mambo, but the first part of these instructions for copying a Joomla website make it look like the content is in a MySQL database much like Wordpress. I don't know where right off to look for that database, or if the client would have it in the archive you were given, but it's at least a start of where to look.

We're happy to keep it open if you haven't found a tool yet, was just hoping (for your sake!) that you had found one and just hadn't updated here.
I agree with staying away from the link exchange page idea. However, I would think that you could find legitimate links from local sources, especially if you have any existing offline partnerships with them. Do you sponsor any little league teams or do any charity work? Do you offer free storage for women referred from the battered women's shelter (I know of movers that provide free moving for battered moving)? Anything like that you can ask for a link back from the people as a way for them to show their support. Natural links would also come from people involved in real estate, property management, student housing -- anyone that frequently deals with people that move and need a place to store things.
A different approach would be to just create the info@example.com account like you would another email account, and give everyone in sales the password, and them them all access via webmail. That should be fairly easy with most setups, and might at least be an intermediate step while you evaluate a better system.
I think you might be seeing a bug in the way OSE is treating binary files as having links, starting with the July update. See this thread http://www.seomoz.org/q/latest-ose-update-strange-numbers-and-links while I ask for Carin to step in and comment on this question.
I looked at the examples used in their blog post about the 12-pack sitelinks, and those examples are now only showing six results. With half a dozen queries on brand names, I couldn't find a single instance of a 12-pack result.

I think you and Socialdude are talking about two different meanings for pinging. Socialdude is talking about pinging regarding updated site/blog content, where you are talking about monitoring to make sure your site is still active.
I'd also say read the Beginner's Guide to SEO (from SEOmoz). This will help you be able to judge if the people you are looking to hire know what they are talking about or are just telling you whatever they think you want to hear.
Agreed, this is a question that's best for Facebook support -- that'll be your fastest and most accurate way to resolve this problem.

The only additional suggestion I'd make here is that maybe you 301 redirect to the closest current product instead of the winery page. If they're looking for a 2006 vintage and you now have the 2007 vintage, possibly redirect to the 2007 vintage.

I think most of the time people don't worry about it these days, since the search engines are so much better with guessing the correct spelling and showing those results instead of the results for the misspelled word. User forums and reviews are one way you can get misspelled words in without it looking too odd, if that at all fits your situation.
Is your company still asking about this at all, or have you gone way beyond that now?
What your gut may be telling you is that you need to have the server redirect the old URLs to the new URLs. That old URL is giving me a page not found, instead of a 301 redirect to the new AboutUs page.
