Here in this case, it comes to readability.

All have, Birmingham and restaurants are the 2nd and 3rd level subfolder, so they have the same impact.

In my view, it should be as simple as site.com/restaurants/birmingham, where the restaurants your main identifier of the keyword is closer to TLD.

Zomato.com does it very good, you can checkout that as well to inspire yourself.

Also booking.com is to some extent good.

If have to choose between the 3, i'd go with the first one

We've had that issue as well. The best option is to put an onclick event on the login link.

Once you do that, google will automatically ward out the false positives.

Hi -

You will have to earn some authority for the domain to be able to rank the home page first. Since there is almost no authority on site, google believes that the about page is better.

What i'd do?

1. Get the brand out in the market and earn some back links (pure white hat on authority sites) on branded keyword

2. Something to consider -- you consider the canonical with "/" in the end for homepage, whereas your site doesn't show up that way. I'd propose you either trail it with "/" in both places or not. But be consistent.

I'm sure this will work. It's just matter of time.

Hi There -

I'm using MOZ's keyword difficulty and analysis tool to understand the difficulty of a given set of keywords.

To my surprise-

I appear number 1 on Google, for a keyword with a difficulty of 36%

On the other hand, for few other with difficulty in range 16% - 25%, I appear on the second or third page. In regards to page optimization, and back links i'm far better off on these ones than the other one (with 36%).

Any reason why that would be the case ?

PS: I've already analyzed the possibility of DA or PA, but it doesn't make sense. As the latter ones always scores better.

Keyword stuffing on Title or Meta Description is a bad practice. More information here - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en

Also please take into account that you cannot get a page to rank on top for all keywords. You'll have to pick the one that is more relevant for the page/content_on_that_page.

In summary, I wouldn't advise doing what you are doing

Hash Exclamation (#!) is a signal sent to google that the page (or section of the page) is coded using AJAX and that there are elements hidden that needs a ajax functionality to be called for google to see all the crawlable links.

First of all that's a great strategy. I hope adwords - keyword planner is coming in handy.

if you plan to outsource the content (which is indeed a good idea), you have portals such as scripted that can get you a blog post at $49. Obviously here the quality and genuineness of the content is guaranteed.

However if you wish to not spend much, you can resort to tools like Fiverr. Here you might compromise a bit on quality.

1. Robots.txt file -- may be they are not letting your spider access the pages

2. Please check whether you are meta tags are correct

I think Google has penalized the site for over optimization or trying to trick google for the keyword 'prepared meals'.

Looking into the backlinks you have via keyword 'Prepared Meals' - sample here http://prntscr.com/1yzst1, i notice that they are from sites which are blog networks that commercially sell backlinks. If that is the case, it is not a good practice.

I'd propose that you check the backlinks and take corrective measures.

Other than this, I cannot find anything else that would be the cause for the same.

For an AD to be relevant for a visitor - the ad target, the AD copy and the landing page contents should be coherent. If there is a big gap between those, there would definitely be high bounce rate. Obviously a high bounce (I'd consider even 47% to be high) means that the something is seriously wrong.

If I were in those shoes, I'd immediately stop and do a Root cause analysis. Please check whether the message you are passing through those ads is for the right group and whether it is coherent with your landing page.

That is quite strange.

• Have you been constantly doing SERP Analysis (followed by backlink analysis) of the other players for those keywords ? It could shed some light.

• Just to be sure - please make sure of the quality of backlinks to your site. There could be some that google thinks is a black-hat and be penalizing it.

Since this is very subjective, it's hard to nail down on one particular reason.

I agree with Takeshi. You should put more emphasis on what users want.

However based on my experience, if you limit the URLs to say 4-5 you would see some benefits. However if you plan to put much more, I wouldn't so much advice it.

It's nothing to worry about. it happens all the time with changes in some algorithm or some work done by other players. As long as you keep producing quality contents, things will be fine.

Sometimes I see some of my keywords ranked on top 5 moving over to like 15 and getting back.

It is not required considering what I see in your site. I think your site is good enough on that front. If you were way above 100-150 in the number of links, it would be something to worry about. As is, it is fine.

Hi -

The best of all is Google Adwords - Keyword Planner. You can access it from adwords.google.com.

In there under options 'Tools & Analysis' -> 'Keyword Planner'.

In there, the option I use is 'Search for new keywords and adgroup ideas'.

Here you can give your keywords and google give you suggestions. Now start filtering by what is more relevant for you and go with it.

Hi Karl -

On your report you'll see "Duplicate Title Tags", click on it.

Following that, you'll see all the pages under "Pages with duplicate title tags". Now clicking on each of the link, will drop down the pages that have the duplicate titles.

Now visit each one of those links on your site and correct it.

One important thing here is the 301 forwarding. You should do this in two steps -

1. On your web server for all the old URL (for the domain as a whole), please do a 301 forwarding of all old URLs to your new ones.

It's simpler if your URL structure is going to remain the same, because that ensure all credits for a given page from old domain goes to the same page on the new domain.

Here is a simple code for apache to pass a given URL on old domain to the new URL on the new domain

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.old_domain.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.new_domain.com$1 [L,R=301]

2. Go to google webmaster and do a 301 forwarding from old domain to new.
