Client got website with javascript generated content. All links there (from mainpage to some deeper page) are js generated. In code there're only javascripts and other basic typical code but no text links (<a href...="" ).<="" p=""></a>

<a href...="" ).<="" p="">The question is: are those js links got the same "seo power" as typical html href links?.For example majestic.com can't scan website properly and can't show seo metrics for pages. I know google crawls them (links and pages) but are they as good as typical links?</a>

But to say more, reveal domain name. Can be to pm if you want.

On the other hand there could be no penalties, just crappy website (according to google guidelines now).

First of all. Those are only tools. They predict if you have penalty or not but won't tell you in 100%: "You've been penalized". Im not using that kind of tools to tell somebody he was penalized or not. Nothing will replace digging into data.

Penguin penalty is "automated penalty" (real time now) and you won't see messages in google search console.

How effectively? If you got enough number of good links, then you have the chance to bounce back after link audit completed. If you don't then you can see no rise or not to previous serps but seo after will be 100% effective again (at least for a start till next messing with google). Also there's another option - that's not link related penalty.

Choice is yours.

Guidelines are general. Each website is different case so you have to check if your markups are spammy or not. Spammy means:

• too much selected for structured markups

• improper use of markups

• markups in markups

and so on...

This is spammy structured markup penalty (likely this) or pure spam penalty. Can help.

Ok so check with site something under 1000 pages and go to the last results page. You'll see that there'll be different number (in almost all cases).

Most accurate number is from screaming frog (if you have less than 500 pages or paid version if more than 500).

Google indexes what it wants and if good enough to show in google index. If some pages are similar, got quality issues, blocked by robots etc then it won't show all. BTW don't think number in GSC or google index is good, check it manually because there can be 468 but in fact 200 only.

Moz can have "historical" pages that now don't exists or don't care about quality issues.

The truth is in screaming frog - most accurate number. If you used google user agent then number is the max that can appear in google index. If screaming frog user agent with turned off robots then you'll see bigger number (but google won't show it because of blocks).

If you want to check what's indexed then use tool like scrapebox. First get all urls (maybe without images if you don't care), then check indexed with sb. What's not indexed, can have some issues.

No, but you can add another sitemap for wp inside magento wmt. No need to set another wmt for blog.

Hell no even if mainpage got nice seo metrics. Like Clever said it'll confuse users (there'll be no homepage). If you want to add more linkjuice/seo metrics/pa/da etc better to add link to mainpage with keyword you want to rank on. Something like: "more about KEYWORD here!" where KEYWORD is that keyword (or phrase) you want to rank.

Rest is the same as always: content, links and so on for the page you're talking about.

Yes. But its easy to fix imo. Create a page and set error in htacces file for example. Pretty fast to complete it.

Unfortunately not but there's api so dev could use it (I guess to write a script) )and check in batch. However if type your domain there "domain.com", and will go to pages, then you'll see pages list. Upload only those giving error (404).

Next steps I recommend:

1. If something has trustflow more than 0 and/or linking domains more than 1 - check where you can redirect it: if there's adequate page - to this page; if there's nothing good to redirect it to - to homepage

2. If rest got 0 trustflow/citation and 0 linking domains - redirect to one 404 page created by you or your dev with one url: domain.com/404 (for example).

For your example:

• do you have good page for it with same/very similar content? Yes? Redirect to this page. No? Redirect to homepage because of citationflow bigger than 0.

1. Check if those "404s" got any links/link juice/seo metrics - for example with majestic.com

2. If some of them have links - redirect to proper pages or homepage if you don't have a good page for something. And keep them. Used or not.

3. If the rest got 0 links, no seo metrics - set one 404 page and redirect ALL the rest 404s to this page (via htaccess for example). This page can be domain.com/404 with nice explanation about oops something went wrong etc.

4. Good would be forcing to reindex those 404 pages with some software or indexing service. Google will get it pretty fast.

Yes, it's bad especially if pages giving 404 but not redirected got some links and some seo metrics like trustflow.

If Bing will allow you to do it then yes. I can't add "other" version for my websites so probably Bing covers "all".

Yes. Make sure you have all properties in your Google Search Console: www.domain.com, domain.com, https://domain.com, https://www.domain.com even if you have redirects. If you don't, create them, verify, and upload disavow file to all 4 "versions". If you got some subdomains, do the same for them too.

Don't delete. Add to all 4.

I just finished similar job.

What you should do:

• collect all bad "pages" and links pointing to them
• find a pattern like some kind of directory
• set them (directories I believe?) 410, not 404
• set robots to disallow those directories
• push all pages and links to reindex
• remove from Google index
• done (need to wait some time)

Important thing is to get rid of all bad links pointing to those pages. If you do that, then there'll be no issues. However this could be ongoing negseo. If you need help with that, pm me.

I thought its deeper than just redirects.

Theres always risk if you dont have experience with that. You can disavow but moz is only tool to help you but not do all for you. Tools calculate the risk based on some footprints but theres no 100% sure all 'bad' links are bad and all 'good' links are good.

If you want then try on your own.

This "strategy" is well known but almost never used right. Imo maybe not link building but rather brand building/sales generation strategy.

Unfortunately you're not amazon so maybe you must try harder;)

or force to index mainpage with some software or indexer website then wait a while.

I'm thinking about some negative seo made for your mainpage but so far can't see any symptoms.

The only thing I think it can be the issue is the number of words on mainpage. Mostly I see images and words from menus, links and not main content. Digging deeper can help (seo audit).

This can be a penguin too but to know the answer, full link analysis is needed. After quick glance I see some unnatural links but not in larger number. Maybe they got footprints not visible at once (same ip, c class, content with link etc).

If you want place link just for link without any good comment but spammy/from template (hey your blog is really useful so come to mine...[link] etc) - bad idea
If you write useful comment about subject of the post with value added AND link would have safe anchor (not so money keyworded, brand/compound is the best for you) - good idea

But there're few catches:

• check if post/article is really related to your website niche - good? great
• check other comments - are they related? are they spammy? are they generated? - if you see many spam comments with links (money keyworded, repetited) then better NOT to post comment there because website owner doesn't care about comments quality (even if nofollowed - he probably set that to not get outgoing links penalty rather than prevent users from adding spam comments) and simply doesn't moderate them; if number of comments are low (not hundreds spammy looking) and all of them seems to be real - great and post your comment with link (that useful comment, hand written with value added and link not very money keyworded)

Other stuff worth doing?

• check website niche and how relative is to your website
• check stats like tf, cf, pa, da - if they're pretty good, great but imo better if stats are lower but website is more related to yours, than high stats and website is about anything
• check how spammy are links pointing to website - many money keywords? strange/not related anchors?

If all looks good - don't hesitate to post a comment. Your link will be probably nofollowed but still can bring some leads.

This can be pretty easy to do:

• they could do few 301 redirect from domains with many inbound links

• they could place sitewide footer links on websites with many pages indexed

I don't believe it's a blackhat in 100% but I'm 100% it's not good in long term. Also DA increased so links come from high DA domains too. However high DA doesn't guarantee links are good for seo and always safe.

www.abc.com/dance-coaching-classes is better because will cover both keyphrases (one partial but still better than nothing).

Keep in mind to not add categories (or more keywords to url) because you'll spam your url:

They'll send examples - max 3. Then you have to look around for similar.

If you don't know what to do then yes. You can harm your website.

Message about this penalty will disappear only if you fix it or if problems (links) will disappear in time. This can take weeks, months or more (if you do nothing with links).

App? Google search console got this message. Probably with examples or unnatural links but sometimes people get penalty and if it's partial match then they'll get examples in first answer for RR. Or if they're lucky, they'll get examples with penalty given message.

About "apps" for unnatural links. None of them will give you 100% correct answer. I saw many times that "app" shows link as deadly risk/bad/disavow immediately but it wasn't so bad from my experience (and left it). On the other hand I saw "good/zero risk" links which were marked as unnatural links examples. To do it well, you have to have experience to not mess with your serps and traffic. Tools of course will help a lot with sorting out links, measuring seo metrics, finding footprints but won't give 100% good answer.

Let's say keyword is "ipad". For Apple it's brand keyword (safe), for you money keyword (if you have tons of links with that or if you're focusing on this keyword and want to rank on) or other keyword if you got little number of links with it. None of tools will figure what type it is. They can only calculate risk based on footprints they'll find so many of links can be good but in fact bad for your website.

Plugin is one thing. Second is if your website is prepared and meets best seo practices for every page, keyword you want to rank on. Plugin can help but won't do 100% for you.

This can be a matter of time.

You should get rid of them and then send RR to Google. Even if you don't see ranking drops, this penalty can make your seo/linkbuilding not so effective as it could be.

Indeed, server location is in US and that matters.

On the other hand I see in google search result versions of your website: with www and without www. I see also this at the end of google results:
"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 89 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."
so this means you have some amount of similar content.

In code I see this: but your website is dedicated to New Zealand right? Change this (and all other) to en-NZ. Setting hreflang can help too.

Also you have little amount of linking domains (weak or weaker domains after new penguin 4). Worth to do is linkbuilding.

Another errors are meta descriptions are part of main content, heading h1 doubled, etc. To check all, page by page seo audit is needed. Even if you had it before, now you have to fix those onpage things to get better serps/traffic.

Can help (if those links were negseoed for example) but I believe that's not only about redirections. Try and let me know if possible.

There're too many possibilities to tell you "it's penguin", "it's about redirects" without knowing domains (which to which), urls, links but I think it's not about redirecting but penguin for the site, panda, or other stuff. 10 links means nothing if you have hundreds.

Bad link? I'm using about 30 rules to determine that including ip, c class, content around, domain registrar, server, anchor, etc...Just "looking" at link isn't enough so you need to compare all things.

301s passes penalties, good and bad "karma".

Few links can't give you a penalty. Or those few links triggered penguin because you have more "bad links". You should dig deeper and do link audit, seo audit, etc. Even if you think it's not needed, you'll find new areas to improve.

This can be anything but I'm suggesting to do comparison: links, anchors, content on your website and his website. Then with data you should improve your website. Can content be better? Correct it. Can links be better/stronger? Add them. Etc etc... I know this looks like general advise but if you need help with comparing top10 websites with your website, can help you.

There're more possibilities than penguin.

Will this be on the same domain? If yes then:

• make sure you verified all properties in GSC: www and non www of your domain
• fetch all links from Google search results with some tools like scrapebox
• scan entire website page by page and make a list of all pages/posts/etc (you'll need them later)
• go to wp dashboard - settings - general and change there from non www to www wp address url and site address url (probably you have to login again after)
• empty cache if you have cache
• scan again your entire website and check if there're links pointing to non www version of your domain (probably will be redirected automatically but save this list)
• correct them - in most cases they were manually added
• combine lists of links: from Google and from your scan; remove duplicates; make sure all are non www
• do 301 test with tool like scraming frog to see if all non www pages are redirected with 301 to www pages without errrors
• combined list of links sent to reindex to speed up the process - you need some indexing software or service
• no need to set preferred domain but if you wish?

Tag all pages with proper links of course and do it on both domains/subdomains: on us "version" and uk "version".

In my opinion those links have less "strenght" than from websites with better link profile. The question is what are the anchors, content around, other footprints?

If they're good, not spammy, good anchors, content around, no footprints, etc etc then keep.

However links on websites with high pa or da won't make them good everytime. They can be spammy and you can be penalized.
