I would put them on but in a place that doesn't distract your visitor. A lot of sites put them in the footer. You can always run test to determine best placement.

RE: Has the Hummingbird Changes Effected the accuracy of MOZ?
Very well said Peter if I could I would give you two thumbs up. Do you think Hummingbird was to improve Google instant? I believe it was as it uses more contextual algo patterns to serve up answers to questions posed to the engine. Sorry to get off topic

RE: I need an interlinking report for my site, is there a report in Moz or another application that tell me how all of my pages are linked to other pages on my site?
Screaming Frog Spider is one that works well.

That is a great answer. Parameters have caused some grief for me thank you!

RE: Links from random sites: Disavow?
There was a similar question posted earlier. Go down to the Question "Unknown Links" and someone left a great answer

RE: I'm a noob. Keywords for new ecommerce site. Should I go for the "big boys" or start small?
I would use all the factors you displayed in your picture. Search volume is also important, I would also check the trending graph included in the keyword tool this will help you pick the right time to start ranking for those keywords. Develop natural and clean content to support your keywords you are trying to go after

RE: Why hasn't my site info shown up yet?
It seems that sometimes it takes a little longer with new campaigns. I know it sounds simple but you may want to verify the campaign is set up correctly a simple typo can set you back. It is a great product hope you like it

RE: Please critique my seo packages page on my website
Like Peter mentioned you have a lot of text. It is up to you but you may want to offer something free like a whitepaper.
I like your page http://bobweikelseo.com/ highlighting all your services. I like the call to action from that page.
Good Luck

Thank you for that clarification.

RE: Why is redirecting all broken pages to the homepage is a bad idea?
I am not sure what type of site you have but I have a Ecommerce site and when I remove a product I redirect it to the category page it was in.

Understand, I am not sure if some Excel wizardry would help you but it may. Have a nice day and good luck!

RE: Honest thoughts needed about link building / removal.
How fresh is your content on your site? Fresh (good) content brings the engines back.
-
RE: Honest thoughts needed about link building / removal.
I would check your DA of where the links are pointing from if it is higher than your DA they are probably not the problem. If you go through WMT like EGOL suggested. If it were me I would get a second opinion and quote from another SEO or perhaps a webmaster.

RE: What is the best tool for finding what people are using as search phrases for my product
There was a blog on here several months ago http://moz.com/blog/using-google-analytics-to-power-an-effective-qa-strategy that explained this custom segment in analytics to get the Who,What, When, and where from organic search results I will share the segment

I am not sure if you have went to a report and clicked the "Email" link you can set it up so you get that snapshot data emailed to you.

RE: Why does moz show "not in top 50" for all my keywords???
I agree with Shaun it does take a little time. Not sure what causes it to delay maybe they store the data and update. Before you panic on some strange ranking you can use a rank checker to verify you are still ranked where you think you are.
-
RE: Is Ranktracker currently down?
I have also noticed google stops sending a responses on RankChecker after a certain amount of keywords around 50.
Sorry I was thinking it was the RankChecker on Firefox

RE: Spider Simulater. Does it work?
Thank you, there was a lot of custom work done on the site so I was concerned that something got goofed up. I tried screaming frog and it looks more accurate than the simulator
-
Spider Simulater. Does it work?
I tried spider simulator and it is showing a strange order the spider follows
http://www.example.com/giftcertificates.php
http://www.example.com/satisfaction-guaranteed/
http://www.example.com/Is this accurate? I ran a test on several sites and the majority showed
www.examplesite.com as the first crawled
I would hate to think that the engines are putting more emphasis on my gift certificates than my homepage.
I read the post on here that the homepage should be first.

Major Drop starting Jan 22 2013
I have a friend who has an ecommerce site. He got slammed in January. He doesn't buy links. In webmaster tools his queries and impressions are way down as well. his site is www.beastmasterrodeo.com. Any suggestions would be great

RE: speedy hosting company
I use BigCommerce great support and a fair price. I would investigate if something is wrong on your site. It loaded very slow and curious if there is a problem with the page and not the host. I have heard mostly good things about godaddy.

RE: Rank tracker tool - seomoz

Is there any SEO value to Infographs?
I purchased Piktochart to make what they said were SEO friendly infographs. Hearing conflicting responses on the SEO value I figure I should ask SEO's. The program is easy and you can download as an XML. Any responses are welcome Thank You

RE: We recently fixed a Meta Refresh that was affecting our home page - But something still seems wrong. Any suggestions?
Dana
I hope Seomoz adds the Webmaster catagory soon like you posted on my question a few days ago
Does the TTL have anything to do with it not working yet? I had a big issue with TTL and do not want you to have to go through what I did.
Have a great day otherwise
-
RE: Trouble with https
How long ago was the site launched? I ask this because Seomoz uses a database. What happens if you do a link: www.example.com?

RE: Using the same Google Analytics account for two sites
Well from what he has told me he uses Semrush to get the traffic count. He plugs his URL next to his competitions and was curious on how the other site is doing so much better. He looked at the source code and google the GA account to find that he had two sites using it.
-
Using the same Google Analytics account for two sites
I have a friend who is concerned that his competition is trying something funny to show high traffic. The competition has two sites using the same GA tracking code. What impact would this have on his actual traffic.
One site has high traffic 7500 daily
the other site has 150 daily but gaining momentum

RE: Meta keywords tag?
I am not sure what platform your site is running on. I know that meta keywords do not help as far as SEO is concerned. We use Big Commerce and meta keywords help our sites internal site search. Something to think about. You can do a quick test by putting non related keyword on a page or product to see if your internal site search picks it up..

RE: What is the value of getting a Facebook like?
Very well written Brian. We find customers really want to put more eyes on their questions than just sending an email to whomever manages the info@example.com.
We have found that pictures are very valuable in creating a Buzz for customers to comment and hopefully end up on the site.
Assigning a dollar amount is very difficult. In our case if you use the metric Social it would appear we are wasting time with Facebook. Time on site generally increases with a good post on Facebook

RE: Google Local
I find it helpful to keep the Google places listing as accurate and up to date (if your company has seasonal specials most important to keep accurate and any hour changes if you are a walkin type company)
-
RE: Adding another Question Topic
I sure hope the SEOmoz team reads this and acts on it
Thank You

Adding another Question Topic
I am wondering if SEOMoz would consider adding a Question Topic called Webmasters. I see many questions that require answers from webmasters and I have some questions to ask that would require a webmaster to answer. Would it be better to find the answers on another platform? If the question is yes any recommendations on which forums are good for these types of questions?

RE: What's a reasonable time to start ranking for a niche site?
Is the sitemap submitted?
Like said early content is very important.
You may know this but don't get impatient and try and speed things up by doing anything blackhat.
I haven't launched a new site with a new domain so I can only say that it it me about 3 months to get back to normal after a redesigned site launch. Had to do some post launch clean up

RE: Does Spelling and Grammar Effect SEO?
I would say it does effect it
I would say spelling errors would effect time on site which would effect rankings. Other problems will effect the serps which may look spammy to potential readers.
These errors are easy to fix and the efforts would be easy to get ROI.

RE: Does redesigning a website affects SEO results
Would it also be important to keep the content similar to maintain SEO and then change it slowly to prevent a drop?

RE: Ranking drops over weekend
I have not lost any traffic over the weekend. One thing you may want to look at is google insights to see if the keywords have a trend for dipping at specific times of the week, month, or year

RE: Just read Travis Loncar's YouMoz post and I have a question about Pagination
I use Google custom search on my site and love it. I would say you have some valid concerns. At first it was a bit of a pain because some of the images didn't line up with the products after a few weeks it worked itself out. We had a 47% increase in conversion from using Google custom search, I use an out of the box type web service so I cannot help you with a few of the questions. There is a lot of customization you can do to fix that you described. Bringing our blog and recipe section was the purpose for trying it and the revenue proved it to be a wise decision.
-
RE: Benefits of "other" search engines
I find that Google is the best but I submitted a site to Bing\Yahoo and have found that conversions from the Bing/Yahoo are much higher.
It doesn't take long to submit one and it can't hurt you at all

RE: Where is my 404?
You also see them in webmaster tools from Google
second, it is a page I deleted this needs a 301
-
RE: Multiple domains pointing to same site
I would say the example you are referring to is the same.
americanflour.com
americanherb.comWe parked them and pay the yearly fee and 301 them to our actual site. Some of them actually had a site at sometime. As for ranking I saw no change but they still bring in a small amount of traffic
