Craw structure for web site about jobs?
Hi there,
we have now a client who has a job offering web site. There are many craw errors in it.
My question is how should the url structure in a jobs website look like and which pages should be indexed? What is the best way and tips for optimizing a job website?
Now the posted jobs pages are dynamically like:
examplejob.com/detail-job/1891222223/Careers-for-Mens---Womens/Experienced-Web-Design-Need
I see many job websites allow their job offers to be indexed and may be this is useful because some people find jobs also when directly search in Google. Are they using dynamically urls for that?
And also my related question is what happens when the job offer expires? When Google craws that page again should it be redirected to 404 page or the original job offer text should be there and just to be added info that this job offer has expired? Otherwise If only it's written that it has expired may be there will be too much duplicate content on many many pages.

Onpage SEO before Offpage?
Hi there,
I want to ask why should a website first have Onpage optimization and after that Offpage optimization or Link building/earning? I have read that this is better, even obligatory in many articles but I am not sure for the reason and benefits of that.
Can at least social media optimization start at the same time or at the middle of the Onpage optimization?

About url shorterner like ow.ly - does it count?
Hi there,
I want to ask do you know does Google counts web pages' links in social medias like Facebook, Twitter etc when they are shortened like that: And is it better not to be shortened like that?
I am using HootSuite to post in those social medias and it automatically shortens them like that when there is a new post in rss emission.

RE: Schema Rich Snippet Markup tool is validating the markup but it says it isn't in Webmaster Tools.
I recently added rich snippets in my web site and tested them with Google Webmaster Tools. It took about 1-2 weeks when there were the first results under Structured Data menu in GWT. So it may be time I think.

RE: Subdomain for every us state?
If the domain is has an extremely high authority (80+), I would consider it due to potential to dominate the SERPs by getting the www.web version and state.web version both to rank high.
Thanks, the domains authority is 43, it is not so high.
_Yes, stick with folders. It's much simpler and much better organization (states correct as Atlanta a city). _
Yes, it is true, thank you!
Next, I second everyone else, subfolders are much more organized, subfolders look better, and subdomains are an old SEO strategy (a little spammy, especially for a new domain)
It is an old domain (registered 1994). What guys you mean by better structured? Sorry if it is a simple question, I just want to be sure if it is what I think.
Also if a web site is in subdomain, does the main domain still pass some authority to the subdomain or not much?

Subdomain for every us state?
Hi,
one of our clients has an idea of making subdomains from his main website to sell his online advertisements in all states in USA.
f.e:
He wants to have a subdomain for every state and there to be information related only or mainly to this state?
I am not sure about is this a good idea? What is your opinion about it?

Google autorship in specific field?
Hi,
I want to ask you about something I 've read about google and authorship. It is written that it is better to show yourself as a author in a specific field.
I myself have knowledge and interest in many fields - like SEO, vegan living, martial arts. And I want to be seen as specialist in all of them. Does it mean that we are limited to mark with autorship articles in only one field, in order to be seen as expert in a specific field?
f.e. Should I mark with "rel=author" the articles that are about SEO because I want to be seen as author in that specific field for sure.
Iif I mark with "rel=author" articles also about martial arts would these affect the understanding about my expertise in SEO?

RE: Where do we know that citations are needed?
Wow, well I think my definite question is not so meaningful after your two answers because at all the most important thing is that citations are truly very important, not where we have found the information about their importance.
Thank you again, Dana!
