Twitter - business and personal acount or just one account
-
Hello,
I have a twitter account.
Do I need to make a 2nd twitter account for my business?
My current username is
BobWeikel
If I need a 2nd account, what would my username be? My company is called Bob Weikel & Associates.
Thank You!

I used to think when doing SEO that personal life and business life would be two separate things. But after delving into the culture and shortly after joining SEOMOZ I had a total perspective change. Rand often talks about networking and being social with others members of the SEO field, and that a lot of his work was accomplished by people he knew, and connections he made on a personal level that allowed his business life to grow. All of my personal social media profiles are also my business profiles. The other day I had someone browse SEOMoz, recognized my username and one the websites I work on and out of the blue just gave me some free links to his sight just to be nice. You have to keep them together for them to be effective.

I think it is a good idea. Usually your personal Twitter account is more focused on your identity as an individual and your business account is more focused on your identity as a business. You might not want to share the same things about your personal life on your business Twitter profile, but sharing those things on your personal account can definitely help build business relationships through shared interests. You can also have your employees contribute to the business Twitter profile to increase the frequency of updates and having conversations with people, which can help increase followers. An added benefit is that you can Tweet your own blog articles from both accounts, which can help a little in terms of getting the ball rolling with social media promotion of an article that you write.
Maybe something like BobWeikelCo or BobWeikelTeam would work.

How do I merge a google+ and a youtube account?
Before Google merged Google+ and Youtube, we had opened a Google+ account for our business from one email account and a separate account on youtube from a separate account. Now that Google merged the two channels, it created a new G+ page for our youtube account. but I want to merge the youtube account with our formal Google+ page. How do I go about doing that Thank you Joni

Facebook Share from personal wall to fan page
Is it possible to share a post from someone's personal FB wall to a company fan page if they have the permissions set to allow this? I often get a message that a share was denied and I'm not sure if shares from personal to business fan pages are always denied or if this is controlled by the person's privacy settings.

G+personal or domain account?
I've looked through the forum and I understand that it now considered better to use a personal G+ account rather than a domain based one. I can change this as I haven't actively used by elizconley@homeforbusiness.co.uk yet but want to start doing this. I understand that it is better to set up a personal G+ account and a business page. However I have a couple of questions: 1. which account do I direct the rel=author markup to, my personal G+ account or the business page. At the moment I write many of the posts on HomeforBusiness. 2. When I post from the HomeforBusiness site do I post to the business page or my personal page? Which is considered better for building connections and improved ranking? Thanks, Elizabeth

I have a client who wants to run a twitter based competition. The idea is as follows. tweet the url of your favorite product from clients website, with #hashtag . so potentially there could be 100+ tweets referencing three or four unique urls on the clients website. What I am interested in is there any SEO benefit to be gained from this.

Is facebook and twitter always a good idea to promote a website and improve Google rankings?
I'm attempting to promote a fresh seafood market / restaurant here on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I have not found a lot of examples of people using Twitter and Facebook to promote this type of business here. Is it hard to justify the time for return here? One benefit I thought for twitter is we could have tweets displayed on site giving us some dynamic content which would hopefully keep Google spider coming back more regularly is this correct? Is there any link building advantage to using these social media sites?
