Will link equity accrued on blog.domain.com be transferred to domain.com/blog after reverse proxy implementation?

Thanks for the insight ...;)

A reverse proxy can be an alternative for sites that are unable to put their blog in a subfolder. If you currently have a blog in a subdomain, you can use a reverse proxy to essentially put it in a subfolder. From my understanding, using a reverse proxy can have some drawbacks though, such as performance/speed issues.
Subdomain vs Subfolder
Subfolder is the preferred method for sites that don't already have a ton of authority. All links pointing at the blog will strengthen the entire domain.
Subdomain can be a useful technique for strong sites that can support essentially starting a new site. This can allow you to grab additional spots in the SERPs.

Does removal of internal redirects(301) help in SEO
I am planning to completely remove 301 redirects manually by replacing such links with actual live pages/links. So there will be no redirects internally in the website. Will this boost our SEO efforts? Auto redirects will be there for incoming links to non-existing pages. Thanks, Satish

When the site's entire URL structure changed, should we update the inbound links built pointing to the old URLs?
We're changing our website's URL structures, this means all our site URLs will be changed. After this is done, do we need to update the old inbound external links to point to the new URLs? Yes the old URLs will be 301 redirected to the new URLs too. Many thanks!

Is it a good or bad idea (in Google's eyes) to add a forum to my website?
I have an active website with many users adding dozens of comments on the many pages of the site daily. I'm am wondering if it would be good for the overall ranking strength of the site if I were to add a forum to it (in a subdirectory, like forum.mysite.com). On one hand, I can see the forum posts as thin content, which Google wouldn't care for. On the other hand, I see the additional user engagement on the site, which I think Google would like. I know the benefits it can have to the users, but for this question, all I want to know is if this would be seen by Google as a plus or a minus for my site, assuming the forum succeeded in becoming popular. I don't want to do anything that will diminish the value of my site in Google's eyes. Thank you.

Do i need to set up a reverse proxy?
Ahoy all, just through another audit - we have a terrible CMS which is ecommerce based only which doesnt allow us to blog or write much content, we have our blog as a seperate WP in our ftp panel and comes up as www.palicomp.co.uk/blog and our site is www.palicomp.co.uk - my question is do i need to set up a reverse proxy so this is classed as one site and my blog provides more value or would it only matter if it was set up as blog.palicomp.co.uk? Many thanks, Chris

What's the "most valuable indirectly related skill" to SEO worth learning?
Hi, All! I have a little time on my hands that's not taken up by client work or our own marketing. What would you say is a skill worth learning during that time? My background is not techie, so while I've picked up a teeny bit of knowledge about code, etc. on the way, I still don't really know how to code, use APIs, etc. So I was thinking something along those lines, but anyone have specific suggestions? And resources for whatever you suggest? Thanks! Aviva

Is 404'ing a page enough to remove it from Google's index?
We set some pages to 404 status about 7 months ago, but they are still showing in Google's index (as 404's). Is there anything else I need to do to remove these?
