How to display the exact url of our subsite in Google
-
Hi,
I'm new to SEO and we just recently relaunched our site. Our site consist of 6 hotels that acts as a subsite. We noticed that when search for one of the hotels what is coming in the google is the main website.
Example: We search for flora grand. We expect that in Google it will display the first link as
www.florahospitality.com/dubai-flora-grand-hotel.aspx.
But it show the main site which is www.florahospitality.com
What do I miss here?

It's baaaaack
Don't know why. By in any case. If you come across this again. First check if the page is even indexed and try to find out why the page isn't indexed. Usually because of duplicate content or excluding it somewhere in robots.txt or putting a noindex nofollow in the head.

Well we do have a multilingual site but it is not machine translated and I use canonical tags that include the language code to differentiate each page.
How can I tell google to reindexed these pages?
-
The page isnt indexed
Do this search, and you'll see that it isn't inclued in Google's index: http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.florahospitality.com%2Fdubai-flora-grand-hotel.aspx
I don't know why the page isn't indexed though.
It has a ROBOTS index follow and it's not excluded in your Robots.txt. Try linking to it from another spot on your site. Maybe you have some duplicate content somewhere? So content that's the same as the content on that page.
Once the page is indexed, your homepage could still rank higher for the search term (not likely though) but because your homepage always accrues the most links, so will also be the most popular url, according to Google, to show.

Folders in url structure?
Hello, Revamping an out-of-date website and am wondering if I need to include the folders (categories) in the url structure? The proposed structure has 8 main folders. I've been reading that Google is ok if the folder is not included in the url, but is it really? The hesitation I have is that the urls are getting long and the main folder only has only a sub folder beneath it. So, /folder-name/facility-name/treatment-overview. This looks too long, doesn't it? Thanks!

Google is not indexing my new URL structure. Why not?
Hi all, We launched a new website for a customer on April 29th. That same day we resubmitted the new sitemap & asked Google to fetch the new website. Screenshot is attached of this (GWT Indexed). However, when I look at Google Index (see attachment - Google Index), Automated Production's old website URL's still appear. It's been two weeks. Is it normal for Google's index to take this long to update? Thanks for your help. Cole VoLPjhy vfxVUsO

Google Dancing?
Hello, I was wondering why my website for some keywords goes from 2nd 3rd page in Google to 7th or even more sometimes? This happens since a while. Any suggestion? Thanks. Eugenio

Tags showing up in Google
Yesterday a user pointed out to me that Tags were being indexed in Google search results and that was not a good idea. I went into my Yoast settings and checked the "nofollow, index" in my Taxanomies, but when checking the source code for no follow, I found nothing. So instead, I went into the robot.txt and disallowed /tag/ Is that ok? or is that a bad idea? The site is The Tech Block for anyone interested in looking.

Google description problem
Hi all, My website is www.ipbskinning.com I'm having a problem with how my site is appearing in google. I have this in the head of my website: <meta name='<a class="attribute-value">description</a>' content='<a class="attribute-value">Free and Custom IPB Skins for Invision Power Board.</a>'/> Yet when I google 'ipbskinning' it says: Solid Skins. 1We test all our skins in all browsers to insure that they are compatible. This ensures that your users have the best user experience. which is random text from the content of my site. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks a lot all

Google Sitelinks
We have an e-commerce site that has about 50k pageviews of our main shop page every week. However in our Google sitelinks we have one for 'Shop'. However, for the Shop sitelink Google is linking to a random URL that we have never & would never use as a URL and not to our Shop page. I can't work out why Google would pick up this random url as we have so many links etc to the main shop page. Why are they not linking to the right page? I have blocked that url in webmaster tools and done a redirect but I want to understand why it happened in the first place. It included 'swedish+fish' so it seems weirdly spammy?! Any thoughts would be really helpful (and I am only mildly techy). Many thanks

Is there actual risk to having multiple URLs that frame in main url? Or is it just bad form and waste of money?
Client has many urls that just frame in the main site. It seems like a total waste of money, but if they are frames, is there an actual risk?
