Need advice about publishing free images
-
We produced a Movember poster to use at our showroom to encourage customers to donate, and I published it on some of our blogs as to raise the profile of our campaign. We've been getting loads of hits from people searching for "Movember poster", but as it has our branding on it won't be much good to them. It's a good image which has been making people laugh, so I think it's worth publishing an unbranded version which people can use freely so long as they link back to us if they use it on a website.
Obviously I can publish the unbranded version of the poster on our own websites, but I think it might be worth publishing it on free image sites as well. I've got no experience dealing with image publication, so just wondered if anyone can give me any suggestions about the best way to go about it.

Thanks for your suggestion, that seems like a very straightforward approach.

Perhaps you could try putting the unbranded version on your own site with some embed code underneath it making it easy for people to add to their own sites. If you have good numbers already coming to your site looking for a poster it seems the sensible place to put it.
Use the embed code to make sure you get a link back and put alt text on the image so that search engines can find it easily and show it in their image search results.

Should my images on Pinterest point to the affiliate links or back to my site?
I have a affiliate site that involves handmade boots (i.e. cowboy boots, hinking boots, etc...). I currently put pics of them on my sites with a affiliate link. After I do this, I use the Pinterest browser button in chrome and add them to my Pinterest account. It adds these images to my Pinterest account with the affiliate link. Should I be doing this or should I be adding them to my Pinterest with links to my website?

Will the articles or blog-posts will get more visibility and do better in ranking by publishing them in different formats like videos?
Hi all, I just wonder how much the different formats of an actual content will bring more ranking improvement or visibility for an article or blog-post or landing page. If a topic has been created in video and slides, will that helps landing page at Google technically? Thanks

Rel publisher code implementation
Hi,We have had Rel=publisher implemented on our Blog for sometime, and in the Rich Snippets for our Brand name i can see data and some of our latest news articles do appear. I am not convinced the Meta tag has been implemented correctly however and would appreciate a second opinion. The code we have is as follows: <div class="<a class="attribute-value">g-plusone</a>" data-href="<a class="attribute-value">https://plus.google.com/116305698538579695036/posts?hl=en-GB</a>" rel="<a class="attribute-value">publisher</a>">div> Looking around its recomended to add this as a link element, and the page we do link to is the comment section not the home page that would end after our company ID. Now i dont know HTML (Something i really need to remedy) but would this be an issue? The Rich snippet testing tool also does not recognise the code on the blog pages.

Request: Feedback on new free tool that provides social analytics for recent blog posts
We have created a tool that provides "at a glance social metrics" for the URLs listed in an RSS feed. Its intended purposes are: Monitor the social success of your recent blog posts Spy on the social success of your competitors' recent blog posts Quickly analyze a blog for social sharing metrics to determine whether it is a good outreach prospect or guest post opportunity Check out the tool at http://www.rypmarketing.com/tools/rss-social-analyzer.php I've attached a report run on the YouMoz RSS feed. Would love to hear some feedback on the tool... Do you think the tool is useful? Nice, but not worthwhile? What could be done to improve it? What ways do you think it will be most useful? Thanks! What's the best way to get links from images?
I have a few images that I have taken recently and I was wondering what might be the best way to use them. Ideally I would like to get a few links or some interest via social networks. I know I've a few options including: adding images directly to the website adding images to Flickr or similar adding images to Google+ adding images to Facebook adding images to twitpic or similar I was also intending in keeping some images to include directly in posts. Should I concentrate posting images directly on the site or use social networks? Which social networks work well for images? How can I use images to get links?

How do I control the thumbnail image for a link on a Facebook post?
Hi, All! I've spent about an hour working on this with no success, so I thought I would ask the community: How do you tell Facebook which image to put in for the thumbnail on a link you're posting? And I would like it to be a different image for each post, and I don't want to have to deal with programming PHP (the main solutions I saw). I'm on a Wordpress based site, and I've tried putting images in as the featured image, made sure they weren't huge (under 200x200), made sure they were .jpeg... and the only thing that Facebook offers me as a thumbnail is a generic "green globe" image that I don't believe comes from my site at all. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
