Local SEO for franchises
-
I have a client who franchises an ice cream shop. It started in Utah and there are several stores there. They are ranking well for local searches based in Utah. Now they have opened a store in Federal Way, WA. How can I get the new location to rank for local keywords on the same website?
-
Also try setting up a local business account with Google, Bing and Yahoo to get relevant local search. It won't increase your domains authority but it will help with traffic and reach.
Edit: create one for each location
-
I agree completely, making the location a category type page and linking to that will show Google the new keywords you are going for and index you for them.
-
As SWM says, have location pages and make sure you have full addresses and phone numbers on them and also think about getting some google places pages set up.
-
Ideally, your client should have a page for each location they have. There could be one "locations" page with a list of stores sorted by state, and then each store is a link to a page with geo-specific keywords.
For example,
Locations
- Utah
- Store 1
- Store 2
- Store 3
- Washington
- Store 1
- Store 2
- Store 3
All six of those stores (or however many actually exist in your scenario) would have their own page with headers, metas, and content specific to that location.

SEO direction - help needed
Hi, I've been working on a site for about 5 years. We built the traffic up to about 8k visitors/day. Although now it's dropped down over the past 2 years to about 2k visitors a day. New traffic source is mainly from SEO longtail. The whole time we have been working to improve the site. What's the best way to get some help from experts on the right direction to get traffic back up or to at least tell me the site will never work 🙂 Thanks in advance. M

Suggestions for a SEO Review
I think it would be beneficial to have a third party seo review of the network of sites my team and I manage and was wondering if any of you had suggestions for what sort of tests should be done or that we should expect to see done during one of these reviews. We are a small team who has varying seo experience and have been working hard to make improvements to our sites in the past year. Most of our sites have been completely overhauled in the last 12-16 months and seo work that had not been done in the past has been setup, along with some corrections that may have been harming seo. We believe we are on the right track and have learned a good amount about seo in that time, but it would be nice to have some "expert" feedback outside of our office to get a clearer picture on anything we may be missing or some suggested improvements. A sort of double check on the work we have done.

This client currently has the following URL structure, is this not SEO friendly? does it matter to have Canada repeated? www.domain.ca/canada/fr-ca/toronto Thanks!

SEO from links in frames?
A site was considering linking to us. Their web page is delivered entirely via frames. Humans can see the links on the page, but it's not visible in source. I'm guessing it means Google can't detect the links, and there is no SEO effect, but I wanted to confirm. Here's the site: http://www.uofc-ulsa.tk/ Example links are the Princeton Review and Kaplan on the right sidebar. Here's the source code: view-source:http://www.uofc-ulsa.tk/ Do those links have any SEO impact?
