Ideas for promoting some articles that have been written about me
-
Hi i would like some ideas on how i promote some websites that do not belong to me. The reason i would like to promote them is because they are newspaper sites that have written articles about me that have appeared in newspapers and now they have appeared on their website.
One newspaper article that was done last week which is on their site is already on page two but others that were done some time ago, a few months ago are on page six and seven and i would like to try and get them on page one.
Any ideas on how i can do this would be great as this would be great to gain as much exposure from these articles as possible

thank you for that. i will do.

Hi Diane - I'm not quite sure whether these articles have links pointing back to your site or not but one popular way of promoting them would be to have a section on your homepage where you can list the various publications that your site has appeared in.
If you wanted to, you could include a link to the specific article so that visitors to the site can read what other people have written for themselves. However, the main benefit of this would be to increase both the brand and trustworthiness of your own site.
It doesn't have to be particularly huge, but even a small box down one side of your site listing the logos of the various publications you've appeared in can increase conversion fairly impressively.
Hope that helps!

New Links in Old Articles
We have recently launched a new website for a brand that always existed in our company, but never had its own website. Now I'm looking to increase it's organic visibility. We had quite a few links coming into our other sites, when in fact they would be more relevant to our new site. The only things is I found a really good one from 2012 - what would be your thoughts on asking the author to change the link? How would Google view? Would I damage the organic visibility of the site it is currently linking to? Thanks, Brian

Article submission web-sites and SEO
Does article submission web-sites have any impact to SEO in these days? There are a lot of good/not so good article submission databases, but does it really matter if you spend a time to write unique articles for them? I mean, is it a good way for link-building, or should I spend more time for other parts of SEO? There are also a special websites (for example SubmitYourArticle) which automate this process, does it make sense to use this services? Alternates? Lots of questions… Update Sorry, I found some good answers only after that I posted this question.

What should I look for when choosing a good article directory for SEO purposes?
I have been writing SEO content for blogs for the past year or so, but I am fairly new to article directories. With SEO in mind, what makes a particular article directory valuable? Currently I'm using EzineArticles and Squidoo; I liked Ezine in particular because of their thorough review process. I saw that recently Squidoo also amped up their checks for original content as a result of Google's stricter policies. I was interested in using HubPages also since they are good about reviewing content. I'm just curious how much factors like this reflect on an article directory SEO-wise. Are there any additional factors that set a a good article directory apart?

Backlink's using duplicate content in article directories
I've had a link build report of all the links an SEO company have got us but a simple search for some of the content in Google with phrase match brings up about 3 pages of the same content posted to different article sites. I think it is doing something but will it just be penalised over time?

Matt Cutts on Article Marketing
I've been waiting for Matt Cutts to talk about this for a long time... finally a YouTube video! "Should you syndicate your articles out to sites such as ezinearticles.com as a way to build links?" He discussed this from an SEO perspective and does not recommend it. I thought that he was way too polite about it... but if you are a guy like him it isn't good to talk trash about the specifics. One topic that he didn't address was how article marketing can impact your competitive position. It feeds existing competitors and creates new competitors. You write twenty articles and they are each published by twenty sites, now there are 400 pages with your keywords out there competing against you. Not smart, IMO. Here's the link to the video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5xP-pTmlpY&NR=1
