Changing of title page and description
-
Can I ask how long after changing the Title and Description tags on a website do people have to wait to see these changes reflected in Google? I changed a site of mine a couple of weeks back, pinged the site to google and had well over 5,000 googlebots to the page (not a result of pinging, I get that anyway), yet Google continues to display the old listing.
Any secret techniques to speeding this up?
Thanks

Please, do so. And post back here to let us know if it helps. Always great to see if suggestions and answers pay off

Yes, it's the homepage of the site so in the sitemap. I will try resubmitting the sitemap manually and seeing if that helps.
Thanks, Carl

First check to see if the site has been reindexed in Google's cache (this link can be found in the site preview box in the SERPs, it actually gives you the last crawl date). This will tell you if your updates have been reviewed by Google. If they still haven't, then its a waiting game. Rasmus does bring up a valid point with resubmitting an XML sitemap, i have seen that speed up the process as well.

You could consider adding the page to the sitemap?
I have some pages in my sitemap which are set to be updated monthly, and still only days after the change of title/description Google has updated this. I must add, though, that a lot of pages in my site links to these pages.
Does your site have a sitemap?
If not, perhaps this blog could help you out:

Afraid not (or at least not that I know of) - it's just a question of being patient I'm afraid. There's no way of getting Google to respond any quicker than it does.

Reducing multi-page website to one page & SEO ramifications?
Hello there! I just want to check in before I do this. I am reducing a multi-page website to one page (temporarily, but for at least 4-6 months). I will be 301 redirecting all old pages to the one, new home page. The new home page has a lot more content, long and short keyword phrases. Aside from losing the benefit of internal links, will reducing the number of website pages hurt a ranking? Does having associated keywords on other website pages provide benefit to another (in this case Home) page? Thanks so much for your invaluable advice!

Will pushing a visitor to a conversion page hosted on a 3rd-party domain hurt the landing page ranking
Had an interesting question from a client. The client has a page that is optimized for a specific term. The goal of the page is to push users to sign-up for a trial. The trial registration (conversion) page is hosted by a third-party. Will pushing users to the conversion page cannibalize the SEO authority of the landing page. My reflexive answer is to say no, but now am not so sure.

Same Meta Description on all pages harmful?
As the question title suggests, is it harmful (on Google) for a site to use the same meta description sitewide? On every single page. If not, is there any particular benefit to crafting a unique meta description for every page besides CTR on google searches. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Moving Top rank Page urls off my Home page and nesting them on one page? Good idea?
I am basically trying to cut down the amount of links on my home page to make it less eye boggling and move stuff around. So i have of my Urls on my home page that lead to pages that rank very well within google. My questions is can i remove those urls to a separate page to group them together and then showcase that one link to that page on my home page. Is that a good idea or i am going to loose my link juice and position in search? The physical urls on those pages wont change at all.

Duplicate page title and content
Hello, I have an ecommerce store where we offer many similar products, and the main difference could be the color or memory storage. Due to this reason my main problem appears to be be duplicate page title and content. What is the best way to correct this issue? I cant make them different neither. I always include this particular difference in title or description. I guess it is not enough? any way to fix it? thanks!
