Do you take Seo and ppc management on competitor sites?

I would love to hear what everyone thinks : I wanted to know what people do about seo and ppc when the keywords and industries overlap.

Do what your client requested. First, because you owe him that as a client. Second, because he is right about the analytics (and rather astute it seems), but lastly, and most importantly in my opinion, Because it will ultimately gain you respect with both clients over time.
For me, I would hate to lose that business, but I would tell the one who wants the SEO that you have to honor your commitment, but that you also believe there are other good SEO firms. Give him three that you think are good (don't give one as that could be a bit of a rub with your client) and let him speak with them. Or give him some good rule of thumb on how to find a good firm.

We never take two competing accounts but we just had someone come to us for seo and we have a direct competitor of theirs as a client who we do ppc for and not seo
(we asked the client for permission and he said no because we know the analtics etc of the business)4what

There is a strong argument for it being deemed unethical. Perhaps the closer the industries/companies and their respective marketing strategies/goals are the stronger this argument becomes.

I am not sure what you mean when you say when the keywords and industries overlap. With industries I am not sure how they overlap unless you mean in a vertical like law where you could have a bankruptcy attorney and a DWI attorney. Both would in essence be competing for the broadest attorney and law terms. (Lawyer or Attorney for two).
We would take clients like this, within a given geography we will take competitors (5 dentists in a large city), etc. With national accounts (we have a large legal account for example in a very competitive area) we would not take a competitor without some sort of sign off from both sides.
Especially with professional practice clients, one of our biggest selling points is that if a marketing firm does say all the chiropractors in the country...who do they give their best to? If you are serving all are you really serving any? With so many Legal Marketing, Dental Marketing, Medical Marketing, Chiro Marketing companies, we find it fairly easy to get clients when we show them the logic. We don't then turn around and do the same.
We want clients that we help to become best. We tell them from the beginning that if we cannot prove their outcomes in their market they should let us go. We even show them how to measure it in real dollars, leads, etc.
So, we like exclusivity. In an event where we can serve competitors we would only do so if all are in signed agreement for some reason.

How to know competitors keywords for adwords
I want to run google campaign for adwords and I want to target keywords that my competitor is ranking for. How can I know what are the keywords that are helping my competitors the most. How much website would be worth for SEO?
I have a website that I'm considering selling. It gives no profit, but I think it has decent SEO value. Link explorer report: domain authority = 69, linking domains: 9.8k, inbound links: 44.2m, ranking keywords: 294. Is that any good? Website is about web design, so keywords are also related to it. Would it be useful for SEO links building for other people? I did sell similar website once, but it was about 7-8 years ago and I've sold it for very high 5 digit amount. However things have changed since then in SEO world, so I don't know if today similar website would be worth much. There is so much information out there that contradicts each other, so I think I'd rather ask professionals here.

Is it better to place PPC when competition is high or low?
When managing a clients PPC campaign is there any advice on throttling up and down the accounts depending on the search popularity. Let's take "wedding cake" there are obvious trends here https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=wedding cake but would you advise to spend more on Ads during the quite months as competition is low and you can get more click for less cost, or do you load up on clicks when it is more competitive/expencive . Please don't get bogged down in the "weeding cake" keyword, I'm looking more for views on when would be best to load an account in terms of return on investment. For example would you get better quality clicks when low search volumes as opposed to high. Lets also assume that our product costs us the same all year round. I have seen different side to the story. What are your views

Site penalized by google
I noticed for a while that our competitors don't rank for any keywords organically and they are using paid ads to gain traffic. They have been in the industry for over 6 years and we are only new and have ranked above them already. How can we find out if a competitor has been penalized? Thanks

Best UK PPC management company
I'm looking to outsource my PPC management and would love some feedback on which companies are worth paying for this service? I'm worried as there are so many cold calling scam artists out there and I want to choose the best company for the job. I have been considering "Adrac" as they only charge when they save you money! Sounds too good to be true so I'm automatically sceptical. Can anyone vouch for Adrac or suggest a better/different company?

Google PPC Quality Score (adventures in)
We have one keyword that brings our site the most visitors. This keyword is the brand name we carry. We have several years of tracking it in Adwords. For some extended time, this keyword [exact match] has averaged 19 cents per click, 2.7 average position, 4.5% click through, and a quality score of 7/10. We wanted more clicks. We could think of what was needed to increase the quality score. Sure, we could change the meta tag title and the adwords title to be the same as the single word keyword, but this would be less informative. We decided to keep these titles as phrases which include the brand name. First change we made: we increased the bid. After all, it was profitable for the two ads above us, right? We increased our bid from .50 to $1.50. Effect? Average position increased to 2.3 from 2.7. Click through increased from 4.5% to 4.9%. Cost per click went from .19 to .51. The incremental cost for each sale was......well really really high.....this didn't work. (oh, we rank #2 organically. Our organic CTR dropped from 3.2% to 2.9% with this change as well) Reversed back to where we were and decided to focus on the quality score. We realized that the keyword was part of an add group with about 20 other keywords. This word was important.....lets put it in it's own ad group. We then made an "exact" copy of the ad and started up a new ad group. Paused the old keyword. We very quickly realized that the quality score on this "same" keyword was now 4/10. That was odd....lets give it a few days......quality score drops to 3/10 and no longer qualifies for first page. What was different we wondered? AH! We capitalized the first letter of the word. Changing this took the quality score up to 6/10 instantly. hmmm, we thought capitalization didn't matter? Seems it did. We now wait to see where the quality score goes. Saga to continue....

Your site is in organic results for adwords keyword - improved quality score?
Let's say I am targeting a keyword "Blue Widgets Cityname" with an AdWords campaign. My SEO landing page is coming up in position #6 in the organic results for this keyword. Because I have my website in the organic search results, does my quality score automatically improve? Conversely, my quality score could go up because the organic search results facilitate a higher CTR for both the ads and the organic results. However, I am wondering if there is a quality score algorithmic component that automatically makes my quality score go up simply because the same domain I am targeting is in the organic results.

Have you seen a correlation in between running a PPC campaing and increased SEO ranking for a new site (< 3 months old)?
I have read many conflicting articles on this topic. I understand that running a PPC campaign at a launch phase of a site can get a lot of insights such as exact traffic patterns etc. But the question is: is there a correlation or not with increased rankings position for new site as search engine are forced to crawled that given landing page to give your ad a score?
