Having Blog and Forum for Store is Beneficial or Not
-
Hello !
I am building a cosmetic store. I have blog.storename.com , forum.storename.com. i started both to make my store content rich.
On my blog we are personally reviewing cosmetic products. and forum user are sharing experience and problems related to beauty.....
But i was reading this post http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/uncover-competitors-using-multiple-sites-for-multiple-first-page-rankings .
it has this "
Alright, Google dislikes pages, subdomains, and domains with substantially duplicated content. Got it. "
Any way my content is not going to be dup at all. but
Product which we are reviewing on blog. ll also be on our store for sale. and might be people sharing own experiences about same product on forum.
do u think i should worry?

why put the blog and forum on sub domains?, have them as a sub folders on the main domain. That way you not losing DA to the subdomain.

It sounds as if you're providing additional value to visitors to your site, and that can only be a good thing!
As "SeattleOrganicSEO" says, as long as you're not duplicating the content from one page to another I don't see that having reviews of a product and product descriptions in the store should be a problem. Just make sure you're not copy-and-pasting the product description into the review! Make sure the reviews are great reviews!
I take it you're linking the products mentioned in your reviews to the the same products for sale in your store?
Put your visitors/customers first and build content that's of value to them and you can't go far wrong.

first of thanks journeyman. I will make sure that we ll not have any kind of dup content anywhere on blog forum and store. all ll be run individually

Like you said, if it's not duplicated, it should be fine. Just build the url structure and the other on page elements of the pages that are generated via the forum and the blog to be SEO friendly. Just make sure it's not duplicating and that it's unique.
When you think about it, you want unique content when you're searching for it online. Just don't repeat the same information in your forum & blogs and you should be fine.

Guest Blogging
If I am looking to guest blog for back links, do I need to reciprocate and provide guest blogging opportunities for them on my site? OR is it better to ask other site's to link to articles on my client's page with the understanding I will link to their page (if they are not competition)? I am trying to do some link building for a bankruptcy lawyer and I am considering possibly searching out guest blogging in different cities/states. Bankruptcy is primarily a federal matter, so reaching out to neighboring states. Not sure the client will be interested in this or not, but it's something I am considering. A lot of law firms have contact information Thanks everyone!

Blog Frequency
Hi, We have a new blog, we write 4 blogs per month and have been posting all 4 in one go at the same time per month. Would it be more beneficial to post the blogs 1 per week or does it not matter? Also, is 4 blog 250 word blogs per month enough or should we be doing more? Thanks Andrew

Correction Duplicate Page Title Problems for a Blog
EDITED: To just focus on the issue at hand. I am trying to figure out the SEO rules instead of just working on the content. Please bear with me. I am adept technically. I just do not know the rules of the SEO process or even some of the termology. So I’m trying to attack problems one at time. Today’s problem – **Duplicate Page Titles ** We evidently have thousands of Duplicate Page Titles. We are using Joomla 2.5 & Easyblog. Our sitemap is automated from XML Sitemap Easyblog takes the title of the sites and uses it for a name of the summary pages. We post 5 blog items per page and all the names are the same. http://www.OursiteName.com/?start=5 Page Title = Site Name http://www.OursiteName.com/?start=10 Page Title = Site Name A similar thing happens on the sorting by Author or Category etc etc. Basically non-duplicate pages are looking like duplicates. What is the best practice / approach? Using the Robot.txt or XML Sitemap to tell Google not to crawl these pages? Writing a script or edit the Easyblog code to edit the 2000 duplicate Page Titles? Other thoughts?
