From Number 4 in SERP to NA in SERP
-
Keyword : speed reading classes
URL : hhtp://www.speedreadingclasses.org/
Earlier the keyword position was # 4 in Google.com
Did a 301 to this from a different PR4 site. I was expecting position 2 or 3 but it went to 9 on last Wednesday. On Thursday It went to # 10 and today it is not even in the SERP.
What might have gone wrong? Is there any way to know about this?
Please help.
Regards
Ray

USA.

are you in India or USA
-
Checked using Google.com again using Firefox this time. #6

You are #6 here in the US (checked in Chrome). Can you see when your rankings shifted ? It might have been the Google Adsense Penalty, but looks highly unlikely to me. I think some minor on-page optimization can help you get back. Slow and Steady wins the race

Using the Bing Toolkit,
but you can see this by using dev tools in IE, press F12 and select network tab
Here is an example
The link to "http://www.speedreadingclasses.org/messages/" has resulted in HTTP redirection to "http://www.speedreadingclasses.org/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fmessages%2F"Why would this redirect, from a frindly url to an ugly url anyhow?
-
How did you check that. through the search engine or by using any tool.
Earlier it was at position 4 (7 days back)

Yopu rank #7 from here in australia for speed reading classes,
Having a look at your site, i see a few problems, i dont know if you have made any changes in the last few weeks you did not say.
But one problem i see is you have very little content on home page, and very little above the fold.
Google now ranks pages lowerif they have little content above the fold.
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.au/2012/01/page-layout-algorithm-improvement.htmlApart from that, you have over 1800 un-necessary redirects, meaning you have internal links that do not point directly at the correct rul, but are redirected there. Redirects leak link juice. you are missing a lot of link juice.

Best SEO Strategist to hire for 4-5K
Hello, We want to get a top notch company to look at us for 4-5K. We don't need SEO, we've got plenty of motion through the press and word of mouth, but if an all around agency was to give good advice I could get him some time with our CEO. How do I get the best for only 4-5K, we may continue with services or it may just be a one time thing. Who should I contact? Bob

Only 4 of my pages have been indexed out of 64 in total
Hi there, I submitted a sitemap for a new 64 page website 6 weeks ago and only a few pages have been indexed. The website shows in Google search but with a large amount of information on the website it should show higher. I have fetched and rendered 30 plus pages on the 9th September and others on the 16th September, today is the 5th October but in Webmaster tools, Google only acknowledge 1 page as indexed. I have checked the robots txt file which shows it is allowed. There are no messages for problems with crawl and no errors showing. The domain is www.urbaneforms.com . Can you offer a suggestion as to why we are not being indexed?

What is best practice to eliminate my IP addr content from showing in SERPs?
Our eCommerce platform provider has our site load balanced in a few data centers. Our site has two of our own exclusive IP addresses associated with it (one in each data center). Problem is Google is showing our IP addresses in the SERPs with what I would assume is bad duplicate content (our own at that). I brought this to the attention of our provider and they say they must keep the IP addresses open to allow their site monitoring software to work. Their solution was to add robots.txt files for both IP addresses with site wide/root disallows. As a side note, we just added canonical tags so the pages indexed within the IP addresses ultimately show the correct URL (non IP address) via the canonical. So here are my questions. Is there a better way? If not, is there anything else we need to do get Google to drop the several hundred thousand indexed pages at the IP address level? Or do we sit back and wait now?

Amount of pages indexed for classified (number of pages for the same query)
I've notice that classified usually has a lots of pages indexed and that's because for each query/kw they index the first 100 results pages, normally they have 10 results per page. As an example imagine the site www.classified.com, for the query/kw "house for rent new york" there is the page www.classified.com/houses/house-for-rent-new-york and the "index" is set for the first 100 SERP pages, so www.classified.com/houses/house-for-rent-new-york www.classified.com/houses/house-for-rent-new-york-1 www.classified.com/houses/house-for-rent-new-york-2 ...and so on. Wouldn't it better to index only the 1st result page? I mean in the first 100 pages lots of ads are very similar so why should Google be happy by indexing lots of similar pages? Could Google penalyze this behaviour? What's your suggestions? Many tahnks in advance for your help.

Fresh content has had a negative affect on my SERPs
Hi there, I was ranking pretty well for highly competitive keywords without actually doing any link building please see graph attached, so I thought I have an opportunity here in getting to page 1 for these keywords, the plan was to write fresh & original content for these pages, because hey Google loves fresh content, right? Well it seems NOT, after one week of these pages been re-written (21st Feb 2012), all of these pages dropped all together, please note: all the pages were under the same directory: /health/flu/keyword-1 /health/flu/keyword-2 and so on... I have compared both pages as I have back ups of the old content On Average there are more words on each of the new pages compared to previous pages Lower bounce rate by at least 30% (Via Adwords) More time on site by at least 2 minutes (Via Adwords) More page visits (Via Adwords) Lower keyword density, on average 4% (new pages) compared to 9% (old content) across all pages So since the end of February, these pages are still not ranked for these keywords, the funny thing is, these keyword are on page 1 of Bing. Another NOTE: We launched an irish version of the website, using the exact same content, I have done all the checks via webmaster tools making sure it's pointing to Ireland, I have also got hreflang tags on both website (just in case) If anyone can help with this that would be very much appreciated. Thanks ZCJDa

My client has a: linkedin facebook twitter myspace I was thinking to push all these to the first page, this will clear up some of those bad reviews. What are your thoughts? Have any of you ever had this type of case? I need to get 6 different sites to all rank for the same exact key term, however I have the top spot to link from...
