From Number 4 in SERP to NA in SERP
-
Keyword : speed reading classes
URL : hhtp://www.speedreadingclasses.org/
Earlier the keyword position was # 4 in Google.com
Did a 301 to this from a different PR4 site. I was expecting position 2 or 3 but it went to 9 on last Wednesday. On Thursday It went to # 10 and today it is not even in the SERP.
What might have gone wrong? Is there any way to know about this?
Please help.
Regards
Ray

USA.

are you in India or USA
-
Checked using Google.com again using Firefox this time. #6
-
You are #6 here in the US (checked in Chrome). Can you see when your rankings shifted ? It might have been the Google Adsense Penalty, but looks highly unlikely to me. I think some minor on-page optimization can help you get back. Slow and Steady wins the race

Using the Bing Toolkit,
but you can see this by using dev tools in IE, press F12 and select network tab
Here is an example
The link to "http://www.speedreadingclasses.org/messages/" has resulted in HTTP redirection to "http://www.speedreadingclasses.org/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fmessages%2F"Why would this redirect, from a frindly url to an ugly url anyhow?
-
How did you check that. through the search engine or by using any tool.
Earlier it was at position 4 (7 days back)

Yopu rank #7 from here in australia for speed reading classes,
Having a look at your site, i see a few problems, i dont know if you have made any changes in the last few weeks you did not say.
But one problem i see is you have very little content on home page, and very little above the fold.
Google now ranks pages lowerif they have little content above the fold.
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.au/2012/01/page-layout-algorithm-improvement.htmlApart from that, you have over 1800 un-necessary redirects, meaning you have internal links that do not point directly at the correct rul, but are redirected there. Redirects leak link juice. you are missing a lot of link juice.

If we were to take a server in Sydney and an IP address from their Melbourne range (only IP range offered) will the new localisation updates to the Penguin/Possum Algorithms serve less up to our clients in Sydney thinking we are located in Melbourne? Sorry if im confusing.. I know I am 🙂

SEO implication of adding large number of new product pages
If I have an eCommerce website containing 10,000 product pages and then I add 10,000 new product pages using a bulk upload (with limited/basic but unique content), does this pose any SEO risk? I am obviously aware of the risks of adding a large number of low quality content to the website, which is not the case here, however what I am trying to ascertain is whether simply doubling the number of pages in itself causes any risk to our SEO efforts? Does it flag to the Search Engines that something "spammy" is happening (even if its not)

_Styling in my SERP, why?_
So Google is using an tag for my SERP snippet and there is styling in that that uses _and for some reason that _is showing up in the snippet itself. So "blah, blah blah, _19.99 _blah" is what is being displayed. How do I prevent this from happening? I thought styling within the header tags was fine? So what I am trying to do basically: Adventure Bear 16 oz or Adventure Bear 1.1oz Is this allowed or am I making a terrible mistake here? Thanks,

Is our Third Party Subdomain hurting our SERPs?
Hello! Our Moz report under the root domain godelta.com displays 696 high priority issues that we cannot control that are all caused by a third party subdomain. promotionalproducts.godelta.com We don’t have any control of the SEO on the third party website. Our blog posts link to the third party subdomain from our blog subdomain. blog.godelta.com Is the third party subdomain affecting our SERP and should we replace the subdomain with its own domain name? Hopefully we can clear this up and end the debate with our internal team and our HubSpot account manager. David

No matter what the keyword, only the homepage shows in the SERP
Hi, wondered if someone could help. My clients website shows up well for terms but its always the homepage rather than the targeted landing page. For example, if you search for "teeth whitening anglesey" they appear http://goo.gl/ohJdua however, its the homepage rather than the tooth whitening page http://goo.gl/uVI8gK Thanks Ade

Massive SERP crash
I came in this morning to a swath of email updates from Moz. Our site had jumped in ranking in the four geographic regions we target and we were seeing (more or less) the best results we've ever had. Most of the jumps were only 1 - 4 places but they were for our most competitive keywords. Late this afternoon I did some spot checks on keywords to confirm that we were still holding roughly in the same positions and before I reported this to the wider business. We're not. What's more we have dropped off the first page for some terms and don't seem to be ranked at all for for others. The only keywords we're getting good rankings for are branded search terms. I can only assume this is due to a technical issues over the weekend our developers caused. I'm not completely across this but I at some point our sitemaps stopped working and a huge number of links on the site were broken. Could a massive surge in 404s cause this? I'm checking google analytics and I can't see a drop in organic traffic yet although I don't have the full figures for today. Thanks

Part Number Variations 10-10-55-P or 101055p
I hope I'm not investing too much of the communities time but I diving into saving my site from the Panda or other unknown damage and have issues. My two biggest selling parts are in a configuration like 10-10-55-P. They are low searched, maybe 50 people per month worldwide but this sale is crucial to us. The manufacture ( which sells direct but more difficult to deal with, I think you still need to give them your birthday and sex to place an online order) has #1 and 2 rank, I have 3,4. I have 3000 parts and focused. . The other 5 large competitive distributors have 100,000 to 1,000,000 parts and have more resources. Sometimes when I test 101055 or 10-10 55( which sometimes is used) I can drop to 7 or 8 and the competitive distributor beats out the manufacturer. I suspect because they get 1000 times more traffic. Today I still am 3,4 for 101055p, but is there an organic strategy to address dashes and is capitalization import and should it be addressed to insure #3 organic rank?..
