Why can't I add my facebook page to SEOMOZ? Also having other facebook issues.
-
Hi,
I have no trouble adding my twitter page in SEOMOZ, but its giving me an error when I try to load my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Eugene-Computer-Geeks/226660334011653 . I also tried adding my personal facebook page which is tied to the Eugene Computer Geeks facebook page, but SEOMOZ wont accept that either.
My business facebook page is tied to my personal account, and its also not showing up on the facebook search. Any idea how I can make my business show up? I wish I could just start over fresh and have my buinsess setup with it's own facebook account. Thanks.

Hi Martin,
Have you sent us a note at help@seomoz.org so we can look into it? That'd be the best bet. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem with a newly setup Facebook page. I keep getting the error 'Uh-oh! Account can not be tracked'.
I've tried from both the office and at home on two different PC's and different browsers, no luck.
-
Just heard from the engineers that the fix has been deployed. Try connecting with your FB account again and all should work. If not, drop a note to help@seomoz.org and we'll get you hooked up. Thanks for your patience!
-
Hi! We're aware of some glitches going on right now with FB and we're working on them. So sorry for the problems!
-
Hi Rand,
I also just had the exact same problem 5 minutes ago. I have a page tied to a personal account that is categorized under 'local businesses and places'. I'm currently using other apps on it (that require higher levels of data access than this one) with no issues. I would appreciate any help that you could send my way. I love your website tracking software and really want to start tracking my social media presence.
Update...
It looks like either the problem was fixed on your end or Facebook's. I was able to add the page to my Social Tracking.

Hi Rand,
We are seeing this error this morning as well
Honestly, I don't know that it is a permissions issue on the Facebook side - I say this because we utilize Radian6 daily and it hasn't been giving us any permissions or connectivity issues.
This thread is a couple of months old so perhaps there is a work around that has been posted here that I am missing. If so, please point me in the right direction, thanks!
-
That's super weird... Never heard of Facebook doing that before. So sorry to hear it! Maybe the FB team can un-restrict your page if you send a request?
-
I talked with customer service and it has to be an issue with facebook which is not allowing me to add the page. I really don't want to have to start over and loose my 61 likes, but will if thats what it takes.
-
Thanks Rand! Yea, I thought it was the privacy settings, but I switched them to public a couple weeks ago. Really appreciate your help, and will send them an e-mail.
-
That's weird - mine is working OK, so it appears not to be system-wide. Can you drop an email to help@seomoz.org with your account info and the two pages you tried to connect? They'll get it looked at ASAP.
In terms of showing up in Facebook search - I suspect that's either A) Something in the page's/account's privacy settings or B) related to the number of fans you have. Facebook has some minimums (25 to have a business page, 1,000 to get a vanity URL, etc) and it could be that your current level of 61 is what's preventing you from showing in searches (though that would be odd, and I'm struggling to find specific mention of it).

I have 2 linking root domains on my URL. But I don't get the whole Root domain thing. So I don't understand how I can improve it?
I have 2 linking root domains on my URL. But I don't get the whole Root domain thing. So I don't understand how I can improve it? I copy and pasted this, from my Links page in my campaign because I can't seem to grasp what a root domain is: 'A higher number of good quality linking root domains improves a page's ranking potential'. Can some one explain to me what this is. As simply as possible. Here's my site www.Thumannagency.com Thanks in advance:)

Unable to get into top 20 even when pages are optimized and most crawl issues resolved
I have a few keyword phrases I've been trying to rank in the top 20 for (starting place). I have optimized for a few different phrases, ranging in keyword difficulty, but no matter what I do I can't seem to get in. In many cases, the exact same results show up for many different variations of the phrases I'd like to rank for. I've read about how google tries to match user intent and so if it decides those results are more relevant then it will always show them, but does that mean that no matter what I do I will always be behind them? The main question I have is: how should I proceed? Should I stop optimizing pages and focus on link acquisition? Or go through and make sure there isn't a single crawl issue? Or focus on optimizing for longer tail keyword phrases? It just feels like I've done so much of what the moz tools have recommended and I'm seeing very little movement over the past couple of months, if anything I see dips in performance after optimization. Thanks in advance!

'Duplicate Page Content' for dissimilar pages
I'm using Moz's Crawl Diagnostics to try and clean up some SEO priorities for our website (http://www.craftcompany.co.uk) HOWEVER, virtually all of the pages that are being categorised as duplicate content are not the same, or indeed similar. For instance, these three pages have been deemed duplicated pages; http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/pme-rose-leaf-veined-plunger.html http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/double-faced-satin-ribbon-black-25mm-wide.html http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/double-faced-satin-maroon-10mm-wide-25mt.html Can anyone give me an insight into why this is? Many Thanks! http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/

Crawl report - duplicate page title/content issue
When the crawl report is finished, it is saying that there are duplicate content/page titles issues. However there is a canonical tag that is formatted correctly so just wondered if this was a bug or if anyone else was having the same issues? For example, I'm getting a error warning for this page http://www.thegreatgiftcompany.com/categories/categories_travel?sort=name_asc&searchterm=&page=1&layout=table

Hyphens in Page Titles?
We are using a combination of keywords using our brand name. So the keyword is structure as: brand name - word (separated by a hyphen) When I run a report on the page for the keywords that have the above format, the report tells me that I need to use the keyword in the title of the page. Is it okay to have hyphens in Page Titles? I assume not, but I want to double check. Thanks, Alex

How can I Pull OSE Data for Multiple URL's at once
I'm putting together a link prospecting csv (very basic/simple). I'm doing my own manual hunting for link prospects and compiling them in a list in that excel doc. Once I'm done with that, I want to pull OSE data on a larger scale (MozRank, PA, DA, etc.). I know Niel Bosma's SEO tools for Excel exists, but I have a Mac, and it's not available for that. And I can't really pay for any of the big tools right now (ie BuzzStream). Does anybody know of a good tool or way of going about pulling this data in a way that will save time? As opposed to pulling data for each URL one by one. ANY tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

I don't get what a dynamic URL is?
I have a whole bunch of them and I have no idea how I created them. I just make titles, that's it. Nothin' fancy.
