If another company hosts our videos, but they are only found embedded on our site, do we get all of the SEO benefits from the video, or would we have to host it for that to happen?

What do you mean, "place your URL in the video window"? Are you referring to the area for Google Ads in the lower third of the video? Or something else? Can you link to an example?

I believe that the presence of a video on your page makes the content "rich" and that is an onpage benefit.
If people link or like your video then you get an off-page benefit.
However, if you allow youtube to host your video and you have a youtube channel that is associated with your website then you have the opportunity to show google that your domain is the source of the video content.
Youtube also is the world's second largest search engine and that can result in a lot more people seeing your videos.
We have videos on youtube and you can get a lot of action from youtube search and related video clicks. If you place your URL in the video window and link to it in the first line of the video description that can bring a lot of traffic to your website.

If hosting were really an issue, Youtube would be in serious trouble. Additionally, most hosting setups are not designed for video so it's very common to outsource the hosting (i.e. put it in something like Amazon CloudFront). Like images, video SEO relies primarily on the content surrounding your video.

Unsolved Question about a Screaming Frog crawling issue
Hello, I have a very peculiar question about an issue I'm having when working on a website. It's a WordPress site and I'm using a generic plug in for title and meta updates. Video & Graph That Lazy Loads
Hi, Product pages on our site have a couple of elements that are lazy loaded / loaded after user action. Apart from images which is a widely discussed topic in lazy loading, in our case Videos & Price Graphs are lazy loaded. For videos we do something that Amit Agarwal recommended here: http://labnol.org/internet/light-youtube-embeds/27941/ - We load a thumbnail and a play button over it. When a user clicks that play button, the video embedd form Youtube would load. However we are not sure if Google gets that and since the whole thing is under a H3 tag, will we a) loose out benefit of putting a relevant video there b) send any negative signals for only loading a image thumbnail under an h3 tag? We also have price graph, that lazy loads and is not seen when you see a cached version of our page on Google. Are we losing credit (in Google's eyes) for that content on our page? Bing rankings question
Hi, We just wrapped up a website redesign about a month ago. The content stayed primarily the same. Once we launched the new site all of our rankings in Google stayed the same but we lost rank for all competitive keywords on Bing. I looked in Bing Webmaster tools and it doesn't show any penalties but it does show that we have too many H1 tags. I don't think the H1 tag thing is the issue but maybe. Do you know what could be causing this?

One more redirect question
If there are two URLs like below: example.com/toys/batman-toys

example.com/birthday/batman-toys Both have the exact same everything, except URL key. The first example ranks for all KWs and search terms in the SEs. Does having the second page hurt my ranking potential for the first page? Should I redirect the 2nd page to the first or just leave it? As always, thanks for your help.0 -
Weird Indexing Question
Google has indexed mysite.com/ and mysitem.com/\/ (no idea why). If you click on the /%5C? URL it takes you to mysite.com//. I have a rel=canonical tag on it that goes to mysite.com/ but I was wondering if there was another way to correct the issue.
