Does the nofollow pass mozrank? Is useful or I am just loosing my time? I am trying to get links for a clients, but other blogs are very few so I can make guest authoring, and this what I can find 90% are nofollow. What I should do? i HSOULD BUY FEW SO i CAN ACHIEVE THE RESULTS?Thanks

Hi Rand! I will try in the white hat way, with guest post! Is the only way to get some decent links. But you know sometimes I get angry, when I am working hard to build my links and the others are just passing me with some links...

Bought links have for a long time been against webmaster guidelines. Fair or not, those sites buying are taking a gamble - and so are the sites selling them. One day (if Google get's its way) there will not be any sites selling or buying links in the index. It might not leave many sites (!) but will you be one of the survivors? In the long term, like it or not, we have to do it Google's way if we want to be in included their index.

Hi Nikos - my experience has been that over the long run, those who break those rules find it comes back to bite them both directly and indirectly. I certainly don't want to lecture you or tell you how to do your marketing - that's your business. But I would feel awfully guilty if you came away from an experience interacting on the Moz community thinking that we might endorse or support link buying. It's always dangerous and, in my opinion, always a worse use of money and time than white hat, long-term tactics.
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/white-hat-seo-it-fing-works-12421 has more on my opinions, and http://www.seomoz.org/blog/unnatural-link-warnings-blog-networks-advice is an excellent, recent piece on how Google cracks down on this sort of thing.

You know how many times I found links bought from google? Contextual in high authority blogs. Google just have fun of us. They create the rules and after they break them. Like goverments. Every time when I follow rules I loose my time. The point is to breakl them in a way that you dont get caught!
-
Thanks man! Rules are made to be broken! Cheers

If you are posting on blogs and forums that are relevant or related to your niche then do not worry if they are follow or no follow, the back link will surely be counted in some sense, if not now then during an algo change in the future. Having backlinks from no follow blogs at least shows that you are willing to participate in discussions without the prize of link juice in return. This is a good thing. These days I do not check for the follow status of a blog or forum, I believe all links have some value. I also believe that Google's algorithm is far more complex than we can imagine. Including or excluding certain link types would definitely be an unnatural linking method. So my best advice is not to bother checking the follow status.
-
Brent is right on the "directly not passing juice". however, I think that Google is starting to look at link profiles in a holistic sense now, and having a good mix of nofollow links helps keep a profile natural looking, and I would argue that they do take it into account.
Dont go out and grab tons of them, but for sure sprinkle them in as part of your effort.

Nofollow does not pass any juice... According to Matt Cutts of Google, Google doesn't count nofollow back links.
There is a great answer to that question here. http://www.seomoz.org/q/do-no-follow-links-have-any-seo-value-at-all
I wouldn't suggest buying, but focus on finding better locations to build Follow links.

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have been inputting links for a few months on various different sites but it doesn't seem to be generating links on Open Site Explorer. Does anyone know a reason for this? Thanks in advance, Beth

A link with "return false"- OSE sees as a No Followed Link
Hello, I couldn't find a clear answer to the impact on SEO for a link written in this way: [" class="expert_info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">](w</span>ww.yourwebsite.com<span style=) [Does the "return false" act as a "no follow"? I came across this in our link data in Open Site Explorer which lists these links all as "no follows." However, an engineer I spoke to said that it shouldn't impact search engine behavior. Any ideas? Thank you in advance! -Sarah K.](w</span>ww.yourwebsite.com<span style=)

Why does my site only have 4 internal followed links/internal links?
When using Open Site Explorer my site is winning in many categories but lacking in others as compared to competitors. I intend to improve on this but am a little confused by the extremely low number of "internal followed links" and "internal links" at just 4. My competitors have much more than that. Does this mean links to the root domain? Total internal links? I have many internal links so I'm having a hard time figuring this one out. What four internal links are getting noticed? I just went through and changed all the links that went to index.html to link to the root domain at www.njlimocarservice.com as I just found a Q&A that indicates this was better. So as of Wed at 5:45 PM all my links to the homepage went to index.html and not the root which is no longer the case. Not sure if this matters. At the same time I also just put a 301 from index.html to redirect to www.njlimocarservice.com. Any help appreciated! h9QuF.png

Following Penguin, what is the best practice for a web design agency placing a footer link in client sites?
For years we have included a 'Web Design by ...' link in the footer of all client websites designed by us. However, following the Penguin update, it seems that this legitimate practice could now be penalised. Should we be removing those links from our client's sites? There are tens of thousands, all with similar or identical text! For future client sites, should we avoid these footer links altogether? Or maybe limit the link to a single page on each site?

Need ideas to get do follow links from highly competative niche "wedding"
I need to get high quality do-follow links and my target market/keyword is ‘Maui wedding’ and a few others. Because it is such a competitive market I am having a hard time getting links from local companies providing Maui Weddings (I know why because they are my competitors) and national companies sites aren't much help because they are trying to provide leads to their advertisers. I would like do-follow links from non-paid sources any ideas or resources you could help with would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Follow or Nofollow outbound links to resourceful, related site?
As I am going through and redeveloping a website, I am trying to add some external links to resourceful information regarding this page. Should I put a nofollow or follow attribute on these? I am only putting 1-5 links per page to associations and other organizations that would be beneficial to the visitor. I am worried about the number of outbound links causing me to get penalized. Ideas?
