Link from Dmoz.org

hi, first question on here. Just starting to get into link building and after a day already confused. I'm using the seomoz pro link analyser / open site explorer to look at my sites links against competitors. First up was dmoz.org. great rankings so a great link target, turns out though that I already have one!! Any ideas why it isn't showing up on my linking domains. Is this a seomoz oversight or am i not getting my alloted 'juice' from this domain??

The problem with dmoz is different, we have a link on there!! It just isn't showing up on Open site explorer as a linking domain, Its as though open site explorer can't see it. Surely it should show up as a linking root domain.
If i do a search for Rattle and Drum on Dmoz we appear in the listing, click on our link and it takes you to the home page of our site, what else can there be to it?

Dmoz is great if you can ever get them to take your listing. I have 5 different sites I have submitted to Dmoz one of them 4 times and have not got one of them listed yet over many years. I have even read their specific directions for submitting very carefully with no luck. Also, all of my pages are on the first page for my respective keywords, most at #1 so my sites are of authority, Dmoz editors are just lazy. Submit once then don't worry about it unless you know an editor who can get you listed.
Also, if anyone else knows a full proof way to get listed by Dmoz, I would love to hear your helpful insight.

Hi Martin,
I wouldn't hold too much importance towards Dmoz as part of your link building because, with any directory, there are loads of outbound links on the site, which means less link juice.
I would suspect that the reason why your link is not showing on open site explorer could be that Dmoz takes a little while to upload the link onto their website so it may show up in a couple of weeks.
My advice would now be to try having a look into some other directories that are focused around the specific industry that your website operates in. You can easily find these by doing searches in Google like:
'yourindustry' + inurl:directory intitle:add
Replace 'yourindustry' with a keyword related to your site and this should show you a few quick wins that you can submit to. Just remember that directory submission is only a very small part of your link building, but it still helps.

Linking between properties
I own 3 domains. One is my blog, one is my photography business site, and one is my graphic/web design site. They are all hosted on the same VPS account. I link between each site. Also, since the links are either in the nav, footer or sidebar, all pages from one page link to the homepage of each other. Is this an issue for SEO? Should I not be doing this? Would it be beneficial to use a no follow link instead if I'm to keep them?

Question about links on blogs
I have a number of blogs, but I'll use this one as an example: http://www.totalpackers.com/. If you look in the left column, we have "friends" links and "more Packers" links. In every case, these were links that we traded or links to our own sites. We get traffic from a number of these sites because of the link exchange, but I'm worried having these is hurting our SEO (as well these sites posting our links). It's crossed my mind that I should remove all these links from our site and ask that our links be removed from their sites. Would that be overreacting? Or is this something I should do? How much time does it take for the links to be forwarded to redirected link?

Thank you for taking out some time for this question; I have changed the permalinks last week for a website.. I forgot to redirect old permalinks to the new one.. So I did 301 redirection, it has been 4-5 days since I did that but the links are not forwarded to the new Permalink so far.
How much time should I wait for the links to be forwarded to the new permalinks? Secondly, I am sure I have done the 301 redirect correctly, as when I go to the old url / permalink it directs me to the new permalink. So I am sure 301 is done correctly. Do I need to submit the sitemap again?0 -
Link Relevance vs Link Authority ?
Hi guys, I have a quick question regarding some low quality links my site is getting. From the information in Open Site Explorer, the website Im talking about has a page authority of 16 while the domain authority is 11\. These are very low quality scores in my oppinion and Im thinking of removing them with Google Disavow Tool. The thing is that, although the domain is low quality, the links have relevance as they're in the same business sector as us. More exactly, the name of the domain is taxisavona and the company I work for is also a taxi company. So, now I`m thinking, should I disavow the link because of it's low scores or should I leave it because it is relevant to our business ? Thank you in advance! Best regards, Tiberiu Iavorenciuc

Internal Link Building
For a large part of our SEO we have been focusing on inbound links (mainly from guest posts and blogger reviews). But our rankings have dropped (though I understand there is a natural fluctuation in rankings quite often) this week and it occurred to me that we should be focusing more on internal link building as well. We, of course, link often to our home page and have related products on every page but we lack a lot of direct key word links in in our description. Would it behoove us to be on a specific product page--take for example owls and friends wall decals--and somewhere in the description add something like "our nursery wall decals are safe for....and have "nursery wall decals" be the direct link since that is a key term for us? I just wanted to make sure that we are headed in the right direction before I spend a massive amount of time updating all these product pages. Any input would be really helpful. objects, not web pages. A few
examples, if you click on them, do not open who knows what they are. But what
