Which Wordpress Framework for Best SEO
-
Which wordpress framework would you use for SEO.
From what I have had a look at:
Thesis is good but you cannot use other SEO plugins with it such as yoast SEO as it is not compatible
Genesis or woo framework are good and a plugin like yoast SEO works well with them.
What are your thoughts?
-
Solid advice. AAAhhh.... reminding me I need to work on getting my content shared more easily too!
-
Genesis is the other big framework but never used. I stick to Thesis, you don't really need any seo plugins for it anyway.
I also think people worry too much about their WP blogs being super optimized, just worry about the content and getting the content shared.

I personally think the Yoast SEO plugin is the best... but you mignt want to try All-In-One SEO Pack for wordpress. You're going to miss out on some of the javacripty tools that tell you how many times your keyword focus phrase appears in your posts and pages but all the same basic tools are there and I've never had a problem with the implementation. It's what I use personally for a fallback.

I use 'Ultimate SEO' plugin and find it works wonders, has everything there you will need. Frameworks are indeed overrated, as long as you've got a good setup and proper url structure with a good seo plugin then you should be laughing.

I think the frameworks are over-rated. Just take a decently coded template and use Yoast's plugin for SEO.

I have used a variety of frameworks since my clients are scattered between so many different verticals. I have found that using a third party web builder for homepage and other major converting pages is huge if you really want 100% esthetic control... But uploading your Wordpress to the root file under a subpage (preferably using a keyword) and then building internal links from the nav bar and other in content areas of the 3rd party web built parts has been a major success in getting me almost 10 sites now first page, first spot google. Of course the content is king and best part the indexed post from Wordpress are now picked up as being tied to the root file adding more and more indexed pages to your site. Clients LOVE the flexibility in design and being able to take over some parts of the sites operability and they will LOVE you even more when they are out ranking their competitors. PS . I do not ever use any SEO plugins -chenzo

Javascript redirects harmful for SEO?
Hi Mozzers, A website deals with some javascript redirects. After some research, It came clear a normal 301 is the best option, but javascript redirects can be useful if you don't have access to a website' server. Does anyone have experience with javascript redirects? Can they be harmful in any point of SEO? I would love to hear your thoughts!

One-Pager and SEO
We're building a page that is going to feature over 31 people as difference makers in their field. We're unveiling one a day for an entire month. The very early mockup of the page has name, pic, some bio info, and a link to open up a new window with the full bio. I would love to have all of the bio content for all of the people on the page (and indexable), but I'm not sure how to do that while still being able to hide the full bios until they are expanded. Anybody have any tips that are SEO-friendly and/or examples of a page that is built like this and ranks well. Thanks!

Site Launching, not SEO Ready
Hi, So, we have a site going up on Monday, that in many ways hasn't been gotten ready for search. The focus has been on functionality and UX rather than search, which is fair enough. As a result, I have a big list of things for the developer to complete after launch (like sorting out duplicate pages and adding titles that aren't "undefined" etc.). So, my question is whether it would be better to noindex the site until all the main things are sorted before essentially presenting search engines with the best version we can, or to have the site be indexed (duplicate pages and all) and sort these issues "live", as it were? Would either method be advisable over the other, or are there any other solutions? I just want to ensure we start ranking as well as possible as quickly as possible and don't know which way to go. Thanks so much!

SEO for Interspire Relic
Hi All, Does anyone know of optimization best practices for the now largely defunct Interspire Web Publisher? Specifically, I'm looking for a canonical plugin or workaround to try and get rid of a few duplicate content issues (most importantly root vs. index.php). I'd like to just redo the site with a cms that has better support...unfortunately client budget constraints are a little tight at the moment. Thanks!

E Tags and SEO relevance
While working through a number of issues related to the speed of my site I came across a discussion of E Tags. I did not read much positive about them. How do they affect SEO? Or do they?

When is the best time to submit a sitemap?
What changes to a website constitute resubmitting a sitemap? For example, if I add new in-site links, should I then resubmit? Or is it more for changes to URLs, Page titles, etc?

Mobile SEO or Block Crawlers?
We're in the process of launching mobile versions of many of our brand sites and our ecommerce site and one of our partners suggested that we should block crawlers on the mobile view so it doesn't compete for the same keywords as the standard site (We will be automatically redirecting mobile handsets to the mobile site). Does this advice make sense? It seems counterintuitive to me.
