Product Reviews.
-
Hi.
In the last few days I have studied a little bit about this, and I would like to know the opinion of experts.
My website www.theprinterdepo.com is a Magento site and I have the product review disabled by default because nobody makes reviews.
However I have seen that other vendors out there have big databases of reviews that can be plugged in into my website.
www.powerreviews.com for example
Will this really boost my site? seo talking?
If so, any other provider you can recommend me, www.powerreviews.com seems too expensive.

I have tried that also, but they never do. Even if they are satisfied, its kind of complicated

Hi,
It's a good idea to get existing product reviews on your site. However it will likely cause a duplicate content issue and harm your SEO efforts, as it's highly likely these reviews will show on other peoples sites.
The best tactic is to automatically send a product review request to customers who bought from you 1 or 2 weeks after they have ordered. Give them a small incentive, like 10% of next purchase or free delivery if they write a review. You'll then start to get unique reviews on your website and save the fee on www.powerreviews.com.

Thanks in advance!

My 'complete guide' is cannibalising my main product page and hurting rankings
Hi everyone, I have a main page for my blepharoplasty surgical product that I want to rank. It's a pretty in-depth summary for patients to read all about the treatment and look at before and after pictures and there's calls to action in there. It works great and is getting lots of conversions. But I also have a 'complete guide' PDF which is for patients who are really interested in discovering all the technicalities of their eye-lift procedure including medical research, clinical stuff and risks. Now my main page is at position 4 and the complete guide is right below it in 5. So I tried to consolidate by adding the complete guide as a download on the main page. I've looked into rel canonical but don't think it's appropriate here as they are not technically 'duplicates' because they serve different purposes. Then I thought of adding a meta noindex but was not sure whether this was the right thing to do either. My report doesn't get any clicks from the serps, people visit it from the main page. I saw in Wordpress that there's options for the link, one says 'link to media file', 'custom URL' and 'attachment'. I've got the custom URL selected at the moment. There's also a box for 'link rel' which i figure is where I'd put the noindex. If that's the right thing to do, what should go in that box? Thanks.

Using Product Page Content from an Offline Website
Hi all, We have two websites. One of the website's no longer sells product range A. However, on the second website, we would like to sell range A. We paid a copywriter to write some really good content for these ranges and we were wondering if we would get stung for duplicate content if we took these descriptions from website 1 and placed them on website 2. The products / descriptions are live anymore and haven't been for about 6 weeks. We're ranking for some great keywords at the moment and we don't want to spoil that. Thanks in advance! D

Google Places Reviews
Has anyone had any delays on Google+ reviews to show up? We have multiple clients who have not received a new review in over two months. These are good accounts with good Zagat scores with 15+ good reviews from real customers. Our clients have asked their clients and have confirmed that there has been reviews left recently. However no new reviews have shown up in the past 60+ days.

Should I import external reviews to my site?
Hi everybody! I manage the website for a financial services company. We have more than 5000 reviews on a user review website. We have the possibility to import and display all these reviews on our site. Is this good for SEO? Will Google find it suspicious that our site suddenly displays a lot of new keyword-rich content? What about duplicate content? Please, share your thoughts. Thanks!
