here is the huffington facebook page, can anyone let me know if this is a paid for page

You should be able to pick a vanity URL if you go into your basic information settings and go to Username. I would call it something that is descriptive of your business but as short as you can get. /Weight-Loss or /WeightLoss or something like that.
I would also recommend adding a cover photo.https://www.facebook.com/help/search/?q=cover+photo

You need 25 likes to change your vanity URL. Make sure you use the one you want because once you pick it you can't change it.
You also don't need to log out of your own Facebook to create a business page. You can create one that will be attached to your personal account and you can switch back and forth between the two. If you go to any business page (such as that Huffington Post page) there is a button in the top right area that says create a page and you can just follow directions from there.

One of the answers on this thread may help you too. http://www.seomoz.org/q/has-anyone-used-facebook-to-promote-their-website

You need a certain number of likes, I believe currently 100, to claim a vanity URL like the HuffPo has. And now you must pay to reach all of your page fans, only the most engaged will see your updates without paying facebook. However as mentioned by Collin creating the page itself is free.

Anyone can make Facebook business pages, and they are free of charge. If you log out of Facebook and look at the bottom of the page, there's a small link that says "Create a Page." You can click on that to get started. Good luck!

Page hidden in SERPs
As well as unique content, we carry press releases (contracts with PR companies) Some pages don't show up in SERPs - but sometimes a few or even hundreds of other sites do. At the end of the search, google shows this: In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 109 already displayed.
Content Development | | loopyal
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included. When the search is repeated, using that link, the page often shows up in the top 10 or top 20. I believe this is a site problem, not a page problem. We are often one of the first to publish the release.0 -
Should I Have No Index, No Follow On Blog Category & Tag Pages?
At some point in the past I read or was told that No Index, No Follow tags on category and tag pages were a good thing on a standard WordPress blog in order to prevent duplicate content issues. Is this still true or was it ever true?

Changing Text on Pages
For one of my sites I'm in a situation where I have 6 main pages that are for lack of a better word "showcased," one of which being the homepage. The problem is that I am seeing pretty good traffic growth, but my conversions/sales are really weak, and I'm about 95% positive that this is because there is too much information on all of those pages --- each one has about 1500 words or so. The site architecture and link structure on the site is good as out of the couple of hundred pages on the site only 3 of them aren't indexed according to Google webmaster tools. What I want to do is rewrite the text on those six main pages with more of a sales type of feel and limit them to 500-700 words or so. This will have no impact on the link architecture whatsoever, but I'm a bit worried that it will have a negative impact on my continual traffic growth. Actually, I'm not as much concerned about the continual part as the steady new content stream should take care of it, but I would be very concerned if I lost the rankings that I have right now. Granted, those rankings aren't worth as much as they could be because conversions are down, so so it's kind of a catch-22. The question is, how dangerous is what I'm planning on doing? On a side note, my lack of conversions has nothing to do with my description or title tags that show up in the results as they are targeted properly and written for sales. The problem is that the pages, though rich in content, are a bit too rich in content and need to be fixed to work in unison with the descriptions and titles.
